Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (3 Viewers)

Very surprised at all the Missandei love in here.  Not in my top 20 of GOT women.
I know there have been A LOT of very beautiful women on the GoT over the years but you can't be serious with this?

I'd be dissapointed if the whole thing could be ended by simply "fixing" the Night King.
Any worse than coming to a truce with the NK? Or somehow reforging the alliance that the dead and the living once had? That whole theory seems rather lame to me.

The whole thing is that dragon glass is the key to both. That has me thinking they are somehow linked.

It just is the same as Lord of the Rings....an unbeatable opponent is brought down by a million to one shot in the dark.

I think Brandon has to be the one (via his time traveling abilities) to bring the Night King to heel......but even as I'm typing it out, that seems kind of lame.

I don't know....I guess when faced with such overwhelming odds, there's only a couple of ways for the good guys to win.....almost all of them involving million to one shots.

I think it's been made pretty clear the good guys aren't going to win, or if they do it's going to be so bad it won't be worth it. The author himself keeps alluding to how dark it's going to get.

The "author" is not anywhere near the ending...he is probably talking about Stannis' decision to burn his daughter...

BIttersweet is the word that pops up when he refers to the ending of the story.

I don't think the White Walkers will win or it will be a phyrric victory with Westeros in ruins........I think it'd be something more akin to "all the main characters we root for defeat the White Walkers but die and Littlefinger, having just standing in the background, assumes control of the land....ushering in relative peace and prosperity for the people". It sucks if you're rooting for the Starks or hate Littlefinger.....but it's a decent ending for the ordinary people of Westeros.

ETA: With Sam also living and writing the true story of what happens...but it just sitting on the shelves in OldTown; noone reading it because it has a crappy title  “A Chronicle of the Wars Following the Death of King Robert the First.”

You really don't think he knows how it ends? Come on.
He said it's hard to write "now" because the characters are in a dark space - winter is when things die.

That is different than his description of the ending which is a book away, and described as "bittersweet".

Yeah this is just absurd.

The face/rack combo is absolutely world class. Combine that with the super sexy accent....wow.

I've just heard bittersweet when describing the ending. I don't know either way - I don't expect good to conquer evil and every join hands, but I'd be surprised if Jon or Dany isn't still standing and in some way victorious (whatever that is though, not sure).

I can see Dany's vision from way back coming true.. in spite of the "don't want to rule over ashes" paraphrase, I'm thinking the white walkers necessitate burning this mother down. leaving a handful of protagonists left to rule over the burned out shell.

He's told us the titles of the final 2 books. Not much to go on, but it seems to indicate a very dark 6th but some hope at the end.

Much worse.

I doubt the dragon glass piece wrt Jorah.  Seems like h's just skinning him alive and then rubbing some eye of newt on him.

I actually really like this.

Just watched it again.

The Sea Battle isn't as "meh" as I first thought.  Not the biggest fan of dark, medium shot, quick cut action.....but aside from a shot ot two..... it's actually pretty good.

I thought it was Yara hanging, didn't see the second body (Sand Snake) with what looked liker her spear up her butt on the bow above the hanging Snake.

They've set the stage for Dany losing all her Westeros alliances, Iron Born...dead....Sand Snakes....dead..... Niedermyer...dead.   I have to also assume Tarly is going to pledge allegiance to Oleanna and then crawfish and drill that old bag in the ###.  So I guess they're going to push a Jon Snow/Dany allegiance out of a mutual assistance....not him joining her fold.
Yeah I agree with this as well.  The season started out super lopsided in favor of the good guys so naturally the show has to even it up a bit.  Also, Tyrion made a big deal about the necessity of using Westerosi forces so that'll come into play with Dany is left with only Essos options.

He probably has a strong idea of the ending but not necessarily all the details leading up to it. Hence the delay in those things that don't exist.

He's also notorious for writing out varying scenarios. I wouldn't be surprised if one of those causes him to end it differently than he anticipated.

Not all of em. Roslin Frey was the one who was supposed to marry Edmure Tully and she avoided the ugly stick.
FWIW I think they did actually marry.  Frey talked about how he couldn't kill his son-in-law.  Also, I think Edmure alluded to actually being given the night to consummate the marriage when he was speaking to Jaime in the tent at the Blackwater.

Yes, and they talked of his son (whom Jamie would launch over the wall, if necessary).

I guess that means the Tullys are back in charge of the Riverlands.

remind me... are they now loyal to the lannisters? or who...?

I can understand how she might not be at the top of  your list, but not top 20 ?!? What's not to like?

Tully was Catlyn Stark's maiden name. They are bannermen to the Starks
I knew they were originally (didn't remember the exact connection- thanks)... but after Jamie essentially saves him and puts him in control (albeit at his dad's demise... although... nobody saw him die :oldunsure:  ...), I thought there might have been some rearranged loyalties as a result.

wait a sec... I thought catlyn was related to the vale... no? or it was her sister that married into that family and then suckled a teenager... I think.

btw- wife and I watched some period british monarch thing a while back... the white princess/queen? ... and caitlyn actress played the queen mother as more of a cercei role.

Seems pretty obvious that Bran will warg into Drogon and light up the Night King sending him to the Lord of Light.

Right now the Tullys are under the thumb of the Lannisters, though that seems pretty tenuous. I think, technically, the lord of Harrenhal has usually been the official lord of the Riverlands, which would mean the Tullys would be in service to Harrenhal - which is currently one of Littlefinger's fiefs/titles.

there's something a little plain-jane about her face- pretty, but not super-duper. nice body for sure though. only girl on tv/movies/internet with a nice body and decent face.
I love the guys in the FFA that are all dating super models or are delusional. Kind of narrows it down...

she's pretty- just not anywhere near an all-timer for me... not the way you guys are going gaga over her. but knock yourselves out.

and yes, I'm used to dating models. does that make me a better or worse judge of how pretty a girl is?

The Tully's ran their own area, the Riverlands, which is one of the seven kingdoms. They are/were peers to the Starks, Lannisters, Etc.
That's right, but the two great houses were united by marriage (Catlyn to Ned) and the Tully's backed the Starks in the war of the 5 kings.

Nobody cares that she's not your #1. To each his own. Not top 20 makes you sound pretty delusional. Please list the 20 other women in the show hotter than her so we can see exactly how far down the rabbit hole this delusion goes. Or maybe just say, "Saying not top 20 is a bit of an overstatement. Maybe not in my top 5."

Question for book readers.

Is winter a push or a pull situation?

Does the proximity of the white walkers bring winter to a certain radius from their location, or are they restricted in some way to staying within the boundaries of what is winter?
