Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (1 Viewer)

I'm not going off the ledge. Just annoyed that these threads are always much more negative than positive. It was the same way in the Breaking Bad thread. There are people who seem to want to do nothing but criticize. #### them.

Do you guys not watch the "next week on Game of Thrones"?

It showed Barriston being dead. He was lying on the stone table, arms crossed etc, with Daeny staring at him like she was gonna cry. Of course he's dead. Didn't hit as to the fate of Grey Worm though.

I thought the fights were ok. Was good to see Bronn being a badass again. Jaime realizing he could use his hand to block the sword was a pretty cool scene, in itself. I thought the unsullied fight was alright as well, but overall underwhelming as to the results. Grey worm is a pretty bad man, and the rest of the unsullied just seemed to die immediately. One of them died in the first 5 seconds of the scene. Seriously, I think Grey Worm probably took on 10 alone. The rest of the unsullied struggled with 1-2 each.

1. The Harpies set them up at got them in a tight alley which would put them in a position they are not used to.

2. We don't know who the Harpies are. Maybe they are recruiting former fighters, gladiators, etc. I am sure they have some badasses in the ranks too.

Much more negative? I don't see that. You cant think it is unreasonable that we say we didn't like one scene of the show.

The hand block of the sword was pretty cool and kinda funny.

Overall awesome episode, been waiting for one like this all season!

This is the 2nd time that prostitute set up the unsullied. I hope she gets dealt with at some point. I thought it was a cool scene when the Captain told Jaime that island was Tarth and he get a little reflective. His storyline with Brienne had some quality moments

No. But there was string of posts, each one ripping one aspect.

Just to tip the scales to positivity for Timmy:

- love Bronn great decision to send him off with Jamie

- great scene with them and Jamie saying he will split Tyrion in two when he sees him

- i really liked the scene with Stannis and his daughter.

- loved the staredown that the red woman gave stannis' wife

- speaking of the red woman

- i loved that Arya is getting someone on her list shipped to her on a platter.

- i really liked the crypt scene. Ok, minus the creeper kiss.

- Interested to see what Cersei wants of Littlefinger (if he is really heading back there).

and? So a few people agree the Sand Snakes suck. Nobody said it wasn't a good episode.

Could somebody explain Dragon Lady's purpose for staying in Pyramid city?

Is that the spot from which she wants to build enough of an empire/army to go home and take over? Just trying to understand the overall plot-arc to her staying there.

In another of the long list of things which went over my head, can someone tell me why Bronn agreed to go with Jaime. He is pretty good at the whole self-preservation thing (not defending the Imp w/the trial by combat). He's not presented as the type to go into a situation without knowing what that situation was about.
In the scene a few episodes back he is with Lolys and he is realizing the castle he expected to get was one he had to wait in line for due to lolys sister being higher in the pecking order. Jamie promised him a better castle, title and woman if he went with him and completed the mission
Thanks. Must have looked away on that scene.

I also thought there were many strong parts to the episode.

For me, I like taking a critical angle. Makes the discussion more lively.

The religious fanatics turning the King of Westeros back was interesting. Imagine them trying to do that with Joffrey. They'd all have their heads on pikes. Every single one.

I think she had a comment awhile ago where she stated that she needed to learn how to rule. If she couldn't keep one city together, how can she rule Westeros? My understanding is this was a self imposed trial run of sorts.

I was thinking of Joffrey during the scene on the stairs. You're right. He never would have turned around and left . Heads would have rolled

that's the wife says too... but I refuse to ever agree with her.

So are those few the Sand snakes or do they represent a larger grouping of people? When brought up before, I just assumed sand snakes referred to all of the citizens in that city.

I believe they are called that because the younger ones are Oberyn's bastards. Sand = ******* down south. Snake = Oberyn was the Viper.

She doesn't have a large enough army to conquer all of Westeros. To become queen, she'll need at least some of the current lords to join her side, and she thinks the best way to make that happen is to prove that she would make a good ruler by successfully ending the slave trade and ruling Mereen.

I think the problem for me is that watching her rule has run its course. I would rather see her conquer.

totally agree... which is where the question is coming from.

One of the better episodes of the series, not just season. Great acting, great writing.

I thought the fight scenes were great.

I get extremely bored with any scene involving the dragon lady and slave/army. They need to bring back the dragons. Not a very interesting season so far imo.

Been one of those days already huh?

He went because he is pretty good at self-preservation.

Same reason Littlefinger is hitting the road so quickly. To make sure he keeps his skin.
I'm convinced that L. Finger is a good guy. Sure, he settled a couple of beefs with the Starks over losing out on Cat when he was younger......but in the end, he really seems to be sticking it to the nobles. Finger is the ultimate bootstrap capitalist.

Funny because I thought the same thing and made me really miss Joffrey. He was awful, but at least he stood for himself and really believed he was THE KING.

Can Daenerys ever feasibly go conquer Westeros? She has her hands completely full. What's the point? Just seems like a lot of headaches. You've got the dragons to whip ###, sure, but she already seems over-extended.

I think the Harpy dudes are mercenaries who are working on behalf of the former slavemasters.

You must be the only person in the world watching this series convinced that Littlefinger is a good guy.

Jon really seems to attract them red heads.
The question is why is the Red Priestess after him? I assume she needs him for something besides a good lay.
Milk of the Poppy.
Lol.

I think she wants Jon to impregnate her so she can release another death dealer.
She cant just do that with any bloke if that is the case, right?
I am willing to give it a shot if she is.

doesn't she talk about people having regal lineage or something?

They need to have King's blood.

I think so. That is why Davos shipped off Gendry, right? How does that apply to Jon? Maybe Ned got it on with a queen, not a tavern wench. Or she could just after Jon's pole - There was a few reminders that Shireen is Stannis' daughter this episode. Maybe she will try to kill her or something.

What if Jon Snow was the love child of Rhaegar and Lyanna?

I could see that. Ned took in Jon and claimed him as his own as a favor to his sister and to protect him. They've mentioned that storyline pretty often so far this season. Sansa Stark becomes wardness of the North. Jon gets the wildlings and Daeny with her unsullied, the dragons and the merc army. The three of them together would definitely have the army needed to take the Iron Throne.
