it is nice- you can set it the TV and to how far you are in the series. might be easy to click something wrong and get spoiled at least as to where people might move to.

So a No-Spoiler writeup said that
the necklace was actually poison.
Based on that map Dany is still a hell of a long way away from doing anything. So are we to be subjected to 100 more of these speeches?

. I didn't remember seeing this in the episode. Is that right or was it book talk leaking into a spoiler free zone? If so that pretty much closes the door on that.

I don't know, but what would be the point of Little Finger pointing it out. Why would LF give it to the Drunk Knight to further give it to her if not for the poison.

Yeah - the only thing that was clear to me what that Littlefinger was involved and in a big way. It stands to reason that the necklace had something to do with it and was probably the poison. Maybe i missed something but it must have been the fool who did it because S Stark seemed fairly ignorant.

ETA: He said it to Oberyn....to bring Dorne back into the fold of the kingdom...that the Dornish were the only ones to stand up against the conquest of one of the Targaryn kings and that there was a Targaryan girl with Dragons across The Narrow Sea.

I'll admit it. Probably the #1 reason that I'll rewatch. I'm not 100% sure of the reasons either.

I understand why he did it, I'm just surprised that he was willing to be so transparent about it and admit that really, he needs them more than they need him.

He's trying to repair relations with Dorne because he knows they'll need Dorne when the dragons come knocking.
This involves repairing things privately (let him have revenge on The Mountain) and publicly (have Dorne's representative be part of the trial).

Earlier in the episode he tried to convince Stannis to hire mercenaries from the free cities. Stannis said no because they didn't have money.
So he's going to try to get the money to hire them from the Iron Bank. Interesting thing will be that the kingdom already owes the Iron Bank a ton of money from Littlefinger borrowing from them and Tywin to fund Robert's extravagances.

Honestly, as a staple of the show, everything that happens at and north of the wall is pretty boring compared to the political machinations of Westeros.

I agree I'm not seeing much angle why they would switch. Davos could say the kingdom owes Tywin even more than the Iron Bank, and now that he's in power he's going to repay himself before them so they should switch support to Stannis to get repaid. I'm not sure that makes enough sense though. Especially if they believe the throne is really in Lannister hands now, and of course a Lannister always repays his debts.

I think that conversation was more that the king has borrowed heavily from the lannisters and the iron bank. it seemed like tyrion was a bit worried when he learned so much came from the iron bank.

Master of coin is for the kingdom of Westeros, not the Lannister holdings. So it was the kingdom that he was noting is effectively bankrupt. It's being implied that the Lannister funds are also wearing thin via Olenna's constant comments about how she (and the Tyrells) are now paying for everything (as the Lannisters don't seem to be able to).

I believe that's completely intentional and reflects that attitude of those involved in the story as well. All of the action down south - the intrigue, the wars, even Daenerys across the sea seems much more important and urgent than what is going on at the wall but that's what is probably the most sinister and dangerous to everyone involved in the long run.
Back when Tyrion had the "borrowing is worse than stealing bc you have to pay it back" conversation with Bronn, he implicitly stated that the Iron Bank always collects their fee. Even If it means financing their (the Lannister's) enemies.

that was an interesting look that Cersei gave Tommen when he was talking to Tywin. but I'm not sure how to interpret it:
- "oh wow, my son who barely ever speaks might actually turn out to be a real fine king!"
