Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (2 Viewers)

Dumb question because I kind of only halfway watch the show and then always ask my wife what is going on. But if the red head could bring back the dead, why didn't she revive her boo Stannis? Did she try and it failed?

Tia, will answer yours as long as it isn't about this show.
I don't think she can yet and she left Stannis before he died.

Pretty sure she had left before he got killed.

Dammit, am I really going to rewatch the last episode of last season just to confirm a plot hole I couldn't care less about?
I thought the same thing you did. But I'm chalking it up to my wife constantly making me start and stop the episode so she could do random things that didn't need to be done last night.

Someone want to help me understand the timeline RE: WTF is going on between Lanisters and Dorne?

Bron, Jamie the prince and princess were on the boat back to Kings Landing, the Snakes and King stayed behind.   Princess gets kissed and chokes/dies on the boat 1-2 hours max into a X day boat ride back to KL (and they never turn back).  They get to Kings landing and deliver dead princess.  They send back the Prince all the way back to Dorne (presumably weeks/months later).   During this time the snakes kill the King and the head body guard.  Prince returns.   Prince gets on another boat....... (I guess) and now gets killed by two of the snakes.

there is a big hole here yes?
There are 8 sand snakes. Were all 8 shown on the dock? I assumed the two shown in Trystane's cabin were sent on the boat with him, killed him after Jamie and Bron left for shore, and are now still on the boat in the harbor. Otherwise, yeah, that is a huge writing error.

I believe Tristane was on a different boat sometime after the one that had the Lannisters shipped off. Though no explanation was given for him going separately.

Stannis was killed at Winterfell. She was in camp with him, then rode for Castle Black.

They've only shown 3 sand snakes. All 3 were in the dock at the end of last season when oberin's woman took the antidote after poisoning myrcella.

They only showed 1 in dorne during the scene where prince Doran and the huge black dude with the big axe got iced. So the only plausible explanation is that the other 2 jumped on a separate boat and followed prince Tristane to kings landing to kill him in the harbor.

Not sure why he just stayed on the boat instead of going ashore but the presence of the sand snakes isn't necessarily a plot hole.  He could have been there for a few days which allows time for the 2 of them to catch up to him on a different ship

Can some of you guys explain to me what other things you are doing while supposedly watching the show? Because there is no way that your full attention is on the show. Or at least.... I hope not.

I surf the Internet and probably watch half of it. More of obligation viewing for me at this point. Thanks for your concern though.

All three Sand Snakes (and Ellaria) were on the dock, watching the boat leave.

Myrcella dies, pretty soon into the voyage.

Jamie knows it's poison, if he doesn't, Bronn says, 'bloody nose, followed by death?  Umm, I have something to tell you, boss....'

So Trystane would be chilling on the boat, by himself, unguarded?  Painting little eyes on the stones they put on dead people?  Jamie didn't think maybe this prince would have some value to him, and maybe he ought to keep an eye on him?  Although I suppose that the ship was Dornish, so he's not taking any prisoners.

Still should have shown the two Sand Snakes getting on that boat.  They screwed that up.

Yea, agreed there actually. Why be painting the death eye stones unless it was for Myrcella and the only way he knows that is if he is on the boat and at this point you know the Lannisters are going to war with Dorne- so you would think Jamie would at least have him under guard.

So.... I think that was something they bumbled a bit for sure.

so when do we get to talk about game of thrones in the game of thrones thread...Christ almighty.
Evidently there are many who watch the show just for the boobs.  Because, you know, no other show in the history of TV shows boobs.

Jebus H Christ, I was blind drunk when I watched it and still got more than some of you.

Thats it, I'm gonna burn #### down.
It's a good thing this is the non book thread.  Seeing how bad some people's viewing comprehension is, I imagine the reading comprehension levels are ####.

You are assuming they didn't kill the guards before they walked in on him. :ninja snakes!:
Just because we didn't see it or hear it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I enjoyed the episode, but not nearly as much as I did reading about a few of you dopes discussing the woman in red's new powers.

Not enough Arya.

Way not enough Tyrion.  Every scene at this point is good from start to finish and I really liked him walking through the town in direct contrast to how every other ruler seems to not be able to do that without a full guard and assassination attempts or worse.  The thematic point of that seems to be that he is really the best ruler that the world has I think.

Sansa and her crew could really be amazing this season now.  The north will always support her and not so much the Boltons, she has a knight at her side now finally, Theon clearly is ready to sacrifice anything for her, finally.  And the fact that she forgot a bit about the speach she had to giver Brienn shows that she is stil learning which was smart.

The Boltons can't die fast enough, although the "feed her to the dogs" was perfect.

The whole Wall storyline is setting up to be really good - hope they do it right, Jon Snow included.

I don't get the hate for Dorne.  Although there are too many stories at this point and if I had to pick one to just get rid of it would be Dorne.

If Dany is staying in the East for another season I'd rather her character just die and move on to Tyrion being the focal point of the east.  The Dothraki are awesome but enough of her already.  She is going to yet another place now, really?

Trystanes death was so choreographed that it was funny.  Dude - turning your back on the honor of assassins?  Really?  You were that dumb?  You deserved it.

I think it's been clear for a long time now that if a ruler had to be picked from all the characters the best choice would be Tyrion. He's the most intelligent, politically savvy person on the show. He just isn't a normal-sized human so he'll never be given the opportunity.

The plot line to me that dany is going to get the horde on her side when her dragon shows up to rescue her. Maybe?_

More so than the intelligence and savvy is that he actually has empathy and would like to see people live better lives overall.

Big picture plot point about dorn and the dothraki and the North fighting itself

Every army in the world is going to have been decimated when the walkers breach the wall.  That's what ratchets up the urgency.   All this fighting and they're all fighting the wrong foes.  And when they realize they've been fighting over temporary power grabs and petty insults, it will be too late.

That works within the framework they've set up, true.

Dude hops off his horse takes two steps and finds her ring in the middle of a field.  They are going all walking dead on some of this stuff.

Yeah it was a bit hokey but you knew the instant Dany dropped her ring someone was going to find it. At least they had a targeted area created from the circle surrounding the spot she was standing.

the necklace can't have the power...She was naked in the tub (without necklace) looking as hot as ever back in season 2 I think.  maybe 3.

Love this show but the Arya storyline has sucked since she stopped wandering the countryside with the Hound. Need some Little Finger plotting soon.

Agree, but she also get her ### back to Westeros too, or she is going to get as stale as Dany.

Also agree.  Tyrion probably could be in every other scene of the show and it still would be quality.  IMO one of the few interesting characters left.  That said, he is also better when surrounded by people just as smart (or at least conniving).  The Spider is a bit out of his element here, and so far Tyrion doesn't have people to play off of as he did in King's Landing.  So far Mereen has been where good characters and plots go to die.

Yep, IMO this could be the best idea they had for the season - putting this odd crew together.  As much as I like the wall plotline, I do hope this crew ends up somewhere else just for some variety of locations.  I liked it better in the early seasons when characters were spread out more.  Not sure where they would go - maybe they catch word of John's death and head to the Iron Islands or try to find Sansa's uncle?

I am starting to like the wall plot more and more.  Davos is a good addition up there.  I am in the camp that we haven't seen the last of John, in one form or the other.

Dorne was the worst part of last season easily.  I was hoping that they would hear the grumbling from their audience and get away from the Sand Snakes, but evidently they are putting them front and center.  All I want to see out of this story is Jamie and FrankenMountain ride into Dorne and murder them all.

Dany's story is by far the most disappointing in the series.  Really has done jack and #### for a few seasons now, and evidently is going to go live with a bunch of widowed Dothraki hags.  Riveting.  I really hope somebody gets her soon.  Like you said - please not another whole season of her with the Dothraki.

Well, at least we see a character die.  Too much off screen stuff the last season or two.  The first couple seasons it seems like everyone was dying, now nobody believes 1/2 the people "killed" are really dead.  John, The Mountain, The Hound, Stannis - anybody else brought back or people think are still running around?

They should invite Sean Bean to go hang out on set during filming, just to really freak people out.
