Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (3 Viewers)

The Sparrow's gotta have something up his sleeve if it's a trial by combat. He's been one step ahead of Cersei the entire time.
Instead of trial by combat, it will be a battle of wits.  He will pour iocane powder into one of two glasses of wine, and let Cersei decide which to drink.

What Cersei does not know, is that the Sparrow poured iocane powder into both glasses, and all this time "praying", the Sparrow has secretly been building up an immunity to iocane powder.

Is trial by combat a thing with matters of "the faith".  I'm not sure if they said that was an option.

I'm not a fan of what the Imp has been up to so far this season.  He's obviously character 1a in the show right now so I'm sure they feel compelled to put him in the show in every episode but they could have just had a meeting next week with the spider walking in and saying "ok, I know who is behind this".   I felt like the "games" conversation was just an excuse for screen time.

Inconceivable

It seems to me he's just working the kid, drawing him into his influence, he knows Cersei and the Tyrell family stand in his way. And it seems to me Sparrow was offering a partnership because Tommen sees that he can control his mother and wife with Sparrow's help, but that is a choice he will have to make.

I'd think so.

And as far as Rickin goes.... Again it's a show with Dragons and Wizzards.... But man they take liberties with the timeline.  It's been forever since we have seen him and how that we are presumably going to have a "Stark" reunion in the north all of a sudden now we have a pressing reason to attack winterfell.

smacks of convenience, but whatever.

The Sparrow's been working everyone so far. Cersie,  Lady Olenna, Jamie. He's been one step ahead of everyone so far. I doubt he'll be felled by a simple trial by combat. He'll be ready for that.

Yup, the Sparrow sees that he needs to make Tommen his ally as he's dangerously close to losing here.

Now, Tommen is as sweet as Joffery was evil, but these things can change in GoT. Look at the rehabilitation of Jamie and the seriousness of Tyrion.  Both of them have found their calling.  Will Tommen?

As for Dany, she's obviously not going to be stuck there with the horse #### and dust. I think she finds her way out by herself without the help of her lovers in search of her.  She may even find an army along the way.

Thought it was very interesting that Flashback Ned heard Bran calling out to him. Gotta think that comes into play at some point. Will Bran influence the past in some fashion and will that mean for the future?

So if Jon's leaving the Wall what the F happens when Sansa and Brienne show up in the next episode? Will the Starks ever be reunited on this damn show? I am happy Jon's leaving the Knight's Watch, though. First off I think his destiny lies beyond the wall but also I think his storyline is confined if he remains there. Smart way to have his death be used as a way to say his watch has ended.

Glad Olly was off'd. Little spineless ungrateful weasel. Here's hoping he spends his days in hell being endlessly torn apart by all of the dead Stark dire wolves.

Like TLEF, I also thought it was interesting that Arya got smacked when she first said she had four brothers. There was something about Jon the other girl didn't like there.

Tyrion trying to make conversation with Missandei and Grey Worm was great stuff.
I don't think it will influence the past as the Three-eyed Raven said that the past has been written.  I think it is something that it is something Bran learns and uses for the present day.

The guy who plays Ramsey is a great actor. That smile that appeared on his face when he was told it was Rickon.

Two years ago I thought that that Joffrey was the greatest villain I had ever seen on television. Now this guy might have topped him.

There was something about Joffrey though. I hated him, but he was always really entertaining. I don't find Ramsey anywhere near as interesting. When Joff died, I was a little disappointed to have lost such a great character. I won't miss Ramsey for one second.

Joffrey was twisted, tortured and conflicted, I agree Ramsey is cardboard often.

But plot devices are self-fulfilling, the writers lost Joffrey from the show but now what do yaknow here's Ramsey to drive the show with amoral cruelty beyond belief and pursuing Starks across the land.

Yeah, but Jamie's response seemed to indicate they knew who against.  Only thing of interest i can think of is Loras but that doesn't make any sense
I don't think it matters who goes up against Mountainstein as he will be unstoppable.  Loras is more show than anything anyway.

what stops Cersei and Jamie from just axing the entire small council and making a new one that will work with them? Seems like a group that needs to be replaced regardless...

The actor of Joffrey also looked a little inbred, yet royal somehow as well. Perfectly cast.

I also dont understand why folks have so much interest in Hodor. I am not sure if I would even notice if the character disappeared

.
He's there for a reason, not just to carry young Merlin/Bran around. Vassals and squires like Pod and Ollie can play important roles in the story.

Also Joff had much clearer weak spots, he was such a better character.

Killing their uncle who controls their homeland and it's army seems like an unwise move. Ditto on killing the leaders of the wealthiest kingdom and the family of the Queen.

He's not unstoppable. If the show has taught us anything, it's that anyone can be killed. Nobody is unbeatable.

The high sparrow was basically brainwashing the ##### king, right?

I still don't understand how they can just detain the queen and king's mom with no repercussions - seems like King's Landing is ready for a fall.

Ramsey is way too one-note to be a great villain.  Joffrey had a little more to him, or at least grew into a monster.  Ramsey has been the same since the first second on screen.  The show is better when we have more complex characters running around  - bad guys like Tywin.

The twist will be who The Sparrow calls up for his champion for the trial.

It can't be coincidence that they brought the hound up during Aryas training. And she had to correct herself that she left him for dead instead of being dead. I'm guessing he's alive and will be Mountain v Hound.

That would be awesome, but why would the Hound be doing the bidding for a guy like the Sparrow.  He would just do it to take down his brother?

Yah. Same as Oberyn. Or maybe the sparrow saved him in exchange for a future fight etc. Who knows. But they brought Hound up randomly it felt. Gotta be a bit of a foreshadow.

I took them mentioning him more on the lines of an upcoming test for her - like Trant.  Maybe the Faceless man morphs into him to see what she does or they know where he is and she crosses paths with him.  I think it would be more interesting to have Arya encounter him than him fight his brother.

I think the Sparrow goes more for the family for his champion if that comes up - doesn't even have to be a great fighter, just somebody to act as a martyr.  That way, even if Cersei wins, she loses.

I thought the exact same thing when he smiled.  I also was thinking how I think it will be impossible for this guy to get another acting job and ever be thought of as anything other than a loathed POS no matter what role he's cast in.

I liked the scenes when Arya was his cup bearer and we got a better look at what Tywin went through to keep things rolling as he did.. He's obviously the bad guy yet it's hard not to have some respect for him when you watch him at work.

I think Olly gets too harsh a rap.  If a group of marauders bust your door in when you were a kid and butchered your entire family in front of you, how eager would your teenage self be to befriend and welcome these same people into your home with open arms a couple of years later?

Yeah.  Olly deserves OG respect.  Guy stood tall and made Jon Snow look away like a litte #####....despite the fact that Jon was the one holding the sword.

Agreed.  I don't like the character - the way you're supposed to "like" a villain - or think much of the actor.  It's completely a one-note role.  Even Roose was far more interesting than Ramsay.

For sure.  For my tastes, more "bad guys" like Roose, Tywin, The Hound, Littlefinger running around and less one one characters like Ramsey or on the good side Brienne.
