The timeline is a bit off - as it's apparently quite a bit after the events we see in Kings Landing.  Varys went to Dorne to meet with the Dornish and Tyrells.  At that time Olenna Tryell already knows what happened to her grandkids in Kings Landing.  An alliance was forged, and all the ships (both Dorish and from Highgarden) not only cross the Narrow Sea, but go all the way to Meereen to pick up Dany and crew.

(the only other explanation is that the final shot we see is after Dany and crew made a stop in Dorne to rendezvous with all those other ships, meaning they are much closer to Kings Landing than we thought)

I think the latter is much more likely than the former. A rendezvous on the Narrow Sea makes even more sense.

Which means that Varys changed ships, which I guess can be done.  Either way, that last shot is a very decent amount of time after the events we saw in Kings Landing.

Red wedding was the only thing to come close to Ned's execution in terms of wow factor.  

Red wedding beat Ned's execution for me.

Of course I never expected Ned to die going into the episode but once Joffrey started talking it was really "oh man this is really going to happen".  There was never really anything that could have stepped in and saved him.

At the Red Wedding even with Robb practically dead on the floor they still gave us that little glimmer of hope with Cat grabbing Frey's wife and threatening to kill her unless Robb was spared.  Then Frey's incredible cold "I'll find another" line, then Robb dies, then Cat kills the wife in cold blood, then Cat is executed without even putting up a fight, and fade to black with no music in the credits.

Ned's beheading was shocking.  The Red Wedding was like 5 shocking things happening in a 60 second span.  It was crazytown.

It would be easy to switch ships and the point of it is to bring the leaders onto one boat to put the full strategy together. Varys knows what Dorne/Highgarden is doing and Dany/Tyrion know what they are doing. Also, IMHO, I think Dany/Tyrion and their fleet (Yara + the rest of the slaver's bay fleet - seemed like the obtained those) went to Dorne to meet up with the rest. I think it makes no sense that they (Varys) went to Mereen. I think their fleets contain their armies/equipment and Yara's plus the rest of slaver's bay contain Dany's armies.

Jaime has changed quite a bit in the last couple of seasons hasn't he?  But I don't know if it's the character or more how the actor is playing him.  He starts out almost as evil and jerky as Cersei, kingslayer and all that... but now he seems as much a good guy Lannister as Tyrion.

Also on the rewatch I'm really liking Tywin more.  He's the main reason the Lannisters were kept in high regard.  Dude was a no-nonsense badass.

I don't think that would help the ships...  I suppose the dragon could grab a ship and carry it above the storm?  Of course, for a dragon to fly, it would have to have hollow bones and be pretty light, so I don't think the weight ratio's would play out very well.  Perhaps all 3 dragons could lift a single ship, maybe if they gripped it along the hull?

It's not a question of where 'e grips it!  It's a simple question of weight ratios!  A fifteen ton dragon could not carry a one-hundred ton ship!

True.  Good point.  He did spend his life repairing the damage to it that his father caused.

Jaime started to emulate that more in the books, but his show character is definitely more "caring towards the family" based.

Eh he was serious about the catapulting the baby thing, which is by definition psychotic. So is his attempted murder of Bran and his lifelong affair with Cersei. The man has a major screw loose. Obviously he may have been raised in psychotic circumstances (read Tywin, Cersei) and it seems Brienne is the only one who ever thought to treat him with decency and honor, which he appears to respond to. He might want a way out, just like Tyrion, but he doesn't have Tyrion's freedom. If Tyrion had been born "normal" he'd probably be like Jamie.

Going back and watching season 1 and (episode 8 I think)  Sam references a time he had been in the library in the past and something he had read about the White Walkers.  My guess is he will hold the key to finding an ancient secret to putting an end to them.

The ring was in the center of a large circle of horse pressed grass that was obvious to the site.  The bigger problem there, if you want to have one, is why wouldn't the great hunter tracker Dothraki see it, but it's a minor quibble.  The jump off the wall was obviously successful because once a girl is raped in this world and a guy is castrated, they have special powers to survive such jumps.  I would offer more proof, but this was the first rape/catrated joint jump I've seen in the show.  Didn't get the battle of the basterds yet.

Each episode is better than the last.  I liked that learning Varys' little birds were children.  That was cool.  FrankenMountain is awesome.  Dany killing the Dothraki leadership was a little lame but if it moves her story the way it should be moving I'm ok with it.  The Iron Islands are just depressing.  Reminds me of the Godzilla movie with Ferris Buehler.  Enough rain and storms and all that stuff, thank you.  Sansa is good, Littlefinger is awesome and lucky to be alive, Robyn Arryn needs to die soon, the Tower of Joy scenes were pretty good and I liked how history conitnues to be not quite what everyone thinks.

And they had to put Sam and Gilly back in the story?  We couldn't just let them go until the final battle in the final episode where he comes into the room all jedi mind trick like?  That would have been better.
