awesome screen capture!
100% Bronn, I agree
awesome screen capture!
Haha they did try to remind us last episode when Dany explained to John they were named after her brothers. At that point I still didn't even know their names. The first time the other two dragons fly into battle against Cerci, they may as well be wearing red star trek shirts. Most tv viewers probably don't even know their names.
Sorry, that is very clearly Jamie sinking in the water at the end.You guys miss the part where Jamie was looking down at the guy sinking to the bottom? It looked like Bronn saved Jamie and is seen sinking. If they were going to kill off Jamie there they wouldn't have dove in the water, they would have had him just go up in dragon flames.
Also, dragon not dead, was just used to show they have a weapon that make them vulnerable.
I pay attention. I've gone back and re-watched prior episodes in preparation for this season and season 4. I participant in this thread. I'll occasionally watch a youtube clip from some nerd analyzing plot points if I have nothing better to watch while eating a quick lunch. I like to think I'm a relatively smart guy.I thought the scene where she named them was pretty cool but yeah, when people can't even remember Sam's name, calling him Jon's fat friend, you certainly have a point.
If it's coming from Martin......maybe not.If Jaime was to die he would have gotten torched by the dragon. Make sno sense for him to be saved only to die in the water.
Is the dragon dead?
2 dragons left?
Drogon looks huge compared to Dany in that picture, They're going to need a bigger bolt. And here is actually a better capture
100% Bronn
Here is the horse he was eyeing right after he almost got torched. Same horse
Really? Interesting. He doesn't quite seem capable of this and I'm not even sure he wants it. I can't quite figure out what his role will be going forward, but this is something I hadn't considered. I think he is prime bait for a sacrificial death to save somebody else, but who knows?- Theon re-taking the Iron Islands.
Yep, you're right. Link. Bronn wasn't wearing a suit of armor and will likely be able to save him, again.Sorry, that is very clearly Jamie sinking in the water at the end.
Post show clips, writers likened it to the return of Odysseus
And look as the size of the little toothpick sticking out of the dragon. Surprised it even brought him to the ground. And here is actually a better capture
100% Bronn

Like what you did here. ;-)Drogon looks huge compared to Dany in that picture, They're going to need a bigger bolt.
Hard to discuss this when they answered those questions 60 seconds after the credits.Great episode.
I think Jamie is dead. They showed it. I don't think the series has done the 'he jumped out of the car before it went off the cliff' type of thing yet. Hound was closest but every other time a death is shown, it's done.
I also think Dragon number 1 is dead. Anti-aircraft thing did it's job. 3 dragons vs. undead is too easy. All sides keep taking their lumps.
Nice job of Dothraki hoard using the teleporter to somehow get west of King's Landing unnoticed, and at the same time the first-priority gold arrives. Surprised the geography and timing not complained about yet.
Even if not the best battle of the series since it shared the episode, it was totally edge of seat and I loved not knowing what was going to happen or who was going to bite it.
I think Dany's side would have loved for the full force of Kings Landing to come running to the rescue. They wouldn't last long on the open plains again the Dothraki hoard. While Dany probably did not know this, they did make it abundantly clear during the dialogue that this was just the last few remaining soldiers that were lagging behind. It was far from the full forces.
Yeah that is Bronn. Dickon was wearing big silver metal armor that the guy in the pic clearly was not.And here is actually a better capture
100% Bronn

Not being a Richard but you really thought Jon was dead for good?I honestly didn't know these things.
good thing jamie didn't ride the horse a foot or so to the right... would've fallen into that bottomless underwater ravine before Bronn even got the chance to save him.And here is actually a better capture

Even if you couldn't put them together yourself, both were mentioned three thousand times in this thread leading up to the events.I honestly didn't know these things.
Thought of the same exact thing when this was happening.Bronn with, "Come on you ######!" while getting ready to shoot the dragon reminded me a lot of Chief Brody and, "Smile you son-of-a-#####!" before he shot the tank in Jaws.
She told us in the last episode she named them after her brothers. The first time the other two dragons fly into battle against Cerci, they may as well be wearing red star trek shirts. Most tv viewers probably don't even know their names.
yeah... those were big ticket telegraphed items- pretty hard to miss even if you're only watching the show and not reading about it anywhere (including here).Even if you couldn't put them together yourself, both were mentioned three thousand times in this thread leading up to the events.I honestly didn't know these things.

If anyone should get to rehash a classic movie line, it should be Bronn.Bronn with, "Come on you ######!" while getting ready to shoot the dragon reminded me a lot of Chief Brody and, "Smile you son-of-a-#####!" before he shot the tank in Jaws.
One of the many great things about this show is how they can have secondary characters given little to do but absolutely crush everything they do. Bronn was money last night.Bronn cracking up at that guy being names "Dickon" was pretty much the highlight of the entire series.
I don't see Cersei taking him back (or him wanting to side with her) but he's got one more big play for personal power coming up, I'm sure.speaking of LF.... he's pretty much cast his fate to the wind here, right? by having the knights of the vale or whatever choose jon snow's side. not sure what his play is that could get him back to a cercei run king's landing and somehow conspire to take her side. why would she trust him (barring bringing her the heads of all the stark kids)?
Not with certainty. I genuinely didn't know if he was gonna come back or not. I was being critical of the poster that I quoted in that I disagree that it was blatantly obvious. I thought it plausible that he could be dead given that this show has killed off main characters at the ends of previous seasons. Not being a Richard but you really thought Jon was dead for good?
Fair enough. I get it. I thought there was a 0% chance he was dead. At the time, he was far too important to the story. I think it's more possible he could die now but I don't think it will happen until he finds out his true parentage. And even then I think he'll live because they've already played the Jon Snow is dead card once before. Not with certainty. I genuinely didn't know if he was gonna come back or not. I was being critical of the poster that I quoted in that I disagree that it was blatantly obvious. I thought it plausible that he could be dead given that this show has killed off main characters at the ends of previous seasons.
with Jon, Dany and Cercei all firmly in front of him (rightfully of not) to the throne, he's got to thin the herd somehow. marrying sansa won't give him much of anything in terms of his overall plan.I don't see Cersei taking him back (or him wanting to side with her) but he's got one more big play for personal power coming up, I'm sure.
I dont know anything about spoiler rules or that, as I hope there are not any. Just a standard code amongst brethren, I suppose.Did the spoiler tag code change on here?
The curveballs used to be a big part, but can't remember that many Oh crap deaths of people that we liked in the last few seasons. At it's peak we had Ned, Tyrion taking out Pops and Shae, Red Wedding, Oberyn, etc.. Now as the cast gets whittled down that doesn't seem to happen as much. Fake out deaths of The Hound and Jon, this week with Jamie (0% chance he is dead) have been more the norm the last couple seasons. i am sure I am forgetting something (I guess closest was last season's explosion?), just saying that it feels like nobody of consequence is in jeopardy anymore. This episode could have used that oh #### moment with Bronn or Jamie biting it for sure. But those kind of curveballs are what really made this show great, right?
The story of a boy who was out for vengeance against a corrupt king that wrongly executed his father. A boy who became king of the North, who built his forces and marched south for one last great batt.....Oh wait nevermind, he dead.
Some of the big plot points have become kind of predictable lately. Everyone knew Jon Snow was going to get resurrected. Everyone knew the Knights of the Vale were going to ride in at the last minute to save the day at BotB. It would have been a neat little twist and in the show's character to guide Jamie towards redemption and the overwhelming prediction that he's going to kill Cersei, only to cut it short.
But yes, I agree, in the current show there is little chance Jamie is dead. He will likely escape from the water off screen and continue down his path of redemption which ends with him killing Mad Queen Cersei, which will come as a complete shock to all the Noonan's out there that watch the show while playing Words With Friends.
But wouldn't his teef be hot from all that fire breathing?Drag-on's gonna bob Jamie outta there imo.
I noticed, but I think we just have to accept this stuff for anything more exciting than Dany sitting on her butt on Dragonstone.Great episode.

Yeah. Still not sure how they let Bronn and Jaime survive that.I would have like the episode much more if Jaime clearly died at the end.
The Lannister army just delivered truckloads of gold. That's money. She needs money and doesn't have any more. The only way to borrow more was to pay off the debt.
I was thinking the same thing. Makes no sense to say, "Ok. Loan paid in full, here's some gold to support your needs."The Lannister army just delivered truckloads of gold. That's money.
No need to borrow anymore. That's cash on hand.
Now, if she wants to maintian good relations with the Iron bank, she can make interest payments, or pay down the debt. But to pay it off and then immediately borrow it again? Makes no sense.
