Game of Thrones, tv only, books don't exist, no backstory...NERDS already ruining a series that hasn't started (1 Viewer)

:)

After Sam's little speech about Bran's importance as mankind's memory, all I could think was that they could have chosen a better communicator for the job.
To me that just reinforced that Sam will see the importance in documenting all the things that have happened, and this is his telling of the story.

Though you'd think he would have made himself seem like less of a #####.
And then i killed a white Walker, and a then, and banged the hottest wildling girl and cured greyscale and in was going to become a maester but I decided not to totally my choice though and then also i solved the mystery of my best friend's lineage and now he's king.

And that's how it happened.

The end.

Iirc in the books dany n tyrion havent met yet
Yikes.  Been way too long since I read Book 5 (and only once).  I guess the show and books are blurring to much for me.  I remember really disliking what he was going through, that he was across the sea, and I guess my old man memory has put him with Dany.  Oof.  :bag:

no worries, you just proved the books are irrelevant.....and they are

Just read through like 10 pages of this damn thread hoping it would help me but now it's just making me question things even more... I binge-watched the first 5-6 seasons a couple years ago to get caught up so I'd like to think stuff is fresh enough in my head but guess not.  Some of these names/situations are zooming right over my head.  My wife went back and watched at least a few seasons right before this last season kicked off... thinking I should have done the same but didn't really have time.  Oh well, will still watch but I may be confused.

There are some 45 minute long season recaps on youtube that I found helpful

It's hard to predict how the Battle of Winterfell will play out, but I do know one thing.  Airpower is the decisive factor in any military action; without air superiority, boots on the ground don't have much of a chance.  So, can the two living dragons remain so and how does the alliance eliminate the dead dragon??
I read a blurb somewhere about the dragons not being able to fly in inclement weather. I think that came from Targ dragon lore. But then again, we saw Viserion appear to be flying without issue as he was dismantling The Wall, so.... yeah, bring on the dragons.

Araya's new javelin weapon.

Be my guess. Be genius honestly. They have nothing to defend against a Dragon. He'd make short order of that army and attack winterfell from the South as well. Prolly won't happen but be fun
Didn't they spend a lot time making giant anti-dragon crossbows? Yes.

Why is the Night King marching straight towards Winterfell instead of going around it, facing the totally unprepared Golden Company army, then hitting up KL, bolstering their numbers even further, and THEN going to Winterfell to mop up whoever hasn't died of starvation by that point?  The Night King's hand must be worse than Tyrion.
It might not be wintery enough down there yet. I dont remember where Jamie was when he first feels snow falling, but I thought it was on the road, not in KL. Dunno that that matters, but maybe.

Oh! Can the dead dragon fly across water? That opens things up a bit for the NK

My thought too.

Is it just me or is anyone else starting to find GOT predictions about as tiresome as all the NFL draft predictions/mocks?
About as lame as waiting a whole week for a new episode.   Wish HBO acted like every other current service and released  all at same time.   But HBO does make better stuff than anybody

Unless the dragon spears are made of valyrian steal or dragon glass who cares.

F me.  Just realized I fly out of the country on the same day as the series finale.  I'll have to wait a whole week and hope for no spoilers.
You should cancel that trip, just saying.

I’m traveling this week so participation in the thread limited but did see it last night and while folks are complaining, I thought episode 2 was ####### perfect. Loved it 👍🏻

What cable tv show is done this way? Not calling you out, I’m just not aware of any. I thought that was what Netflix and those services do.

Going to be a good first hour getting thier ### kicked until Tyrion comes up with some brilliant idea that saves the day.

Did NOT like the shortcut of having someone walk in at the perfect moment to interrupt the conversation. Dany/Sansa - what would Dany have said next?  Dany/Jon - what would Jon have said next.  Both conversations interrupted seems weak.
Very much agree
I have thought about this some more and I feel like this feels very soap opera-esque.  One of my favorite scenes in Breaking Bad is the tread lightly scene.  This is like cutting somewhere else when Hank closes the garage door.
