Game Thread - Divisionals - Carolina V Chicago (1 Viewer)

No question, the guy's amazing but on both of his TDs the defender has been flopping around on the ground like a seal on the 30 yard line. The question really becomes if the Bears can't stop him will anyone in these playoffs be able to stop him?

Seahawks will do a better job on him. Maybe only 150 yards.

what is NFL playoff record for receiving yards (smith already with 215)?flipper anderson had like 330 in a regular season miracle OT comeback where rams defeated saints in the '80s...

If I didn't have an admitted prejudice against wide receivers in fantasy football, I'd strongly consider keeping Steve Smith over Larry Johnson in my one-keeper league (one year contract; must have drafted the player in the previous season in the 3rd round or later).
I don't think anyone in this thread gives two ####s about your team or who you'll be keeping.

Somebody needs to TAKE STEVE SMITH OUT, as in take him the eff out of the game!

Momentum is on the Bears side now, the score has tightened up, Morgan and Deshaun or hurting....

Time to eliminate Steve Smith

STAT!
Okay, I know you don't really mean that....Do you?

This, BTW, is the reason I've always thought the Panthers are insane to have him returning punts. Every ST player in the league is gunning for him when they run down the field.
can't hurt what you can't catch...

The Panthers officially have no shot at winning this one. In the past 5 years teams that are up by 2 points at some point in the third quarter during the playoffs in an odd numbered year divisible by 17 during the 4:30 game being played in a city that's notorious for being windy a couple hours after the #1 seed got knocked out of the playoffs by the #6 seed in the AFC 2 years into the current president's term in office are 0-24 in said game.

Tough break. At times it really looked like this was the year :(
Ok, this whole stat goes out the window when said team's #1 WR gets over 200 yards receiving. Carry on :bag:

Why not? We all care that he covered Steve Smith's 6.5 catches and needs a 40 yd. FG from Kasay. Don't we?Well, don't we?

Wow! Grossman has shined since the end of the 1st half. Considering this is his 1st playoff game, this bodes well for the future.

thanx...looks well within his striking range... like one busted tackle on a screen play.

the observation of damned if you do (press coverage) or damned if you don't is right... you HAVE to play off him or he will get on top of the safeties quick as a hiccup...

so instead he kills slowly on the screen RAC...

pick your poison...

what makes smith such a freak is he has great hops & timing to high point the ball & is tenacious as heck at fighting for the ball...

effectively playing like bigger dude...

coupled with the blazing speed & freakish quickness is NASTY, nearly unstoppable combo...
