Game Thread - Divisionals - New England V Denver (1 Viewer)

The Patriots have gone away from one of their short yardage staples. Go 4 wide or 5 wide and run Brady on the wedge play. This has been a very successful play for the Pats in the past.

Awww look at Brady choking under the pressure. That's so cute.
Football Gods:On behalf of my Broncos fan breatheren, I would like to apologize for KRS's early assumption. This statement is not the opinion of the Denver Broncos, their fans, or their bandwagoners.

We hope you can disregard this at your earliest opportunity.

TIA,

Keys

I'll take three here. Keep the game within a single possession, and take some of the pressure off the D so they can play their game.

pressure comes in the 4th FYI
If that was Manning, that was a pressure play. His team losing in the second half on the road against a great team with the season on the line and "the deepest penetration they've had all day," and he short-arms it.

Love the dump to the TE over the middle.  That's the best way to beat the jailbreak.

Also, Brady needs to stop waiting till the play clock goes down to 1.  It's giving the Broncos a jump on the ball because they know he has to snap it.
Why do you think he's been doing that?
Because he's been going to the line, checking the blitzers, then audibling the coverage, then audibling to a shotgun on almost every play that Denver's showed the jailbreak. He's beating the coverage, but he's costing himself a half a second by taking the whole playclock.
controlling the clock too, time of posession
I understand that, and without much of a running game, they have to take most of the clock. I just don't like the frequency with which he's snapping the ball with exactly one second left. Mix it up - snap it with 2 seconds left once in a while. Don't let the defense use an actual clock to time your snapcount.

You are right. To this point, Brady has played very average all game. Lets see how he finishes.

Brady has seemed to have lost his calm demeaner in this game. Sometimes he shows poise, but most often he is jumpy, off target and rushing plays and throws. Kudos to Shanny for getting to him.

Funny how when Manning does this, everyone says he's choking, but if Brady does the same thing and I call it choking I'm fishing.

So being down a TD in the playoffs, on the road, when you've been getting hit every other dropback doesn't cause pressure?
yes and no, they're down 4 with tons of time. Maybe some but one could certainly have a "we'll get em' next time" attitude there

No doubt about it. Brady is on verge of choking this game away. He's had his opportunities and is not hitting his targets.

Winners are cut more slack. That's just the way it is.

Tough road to hoe for the Steelers on Sunday...
Tough row to hoe. It's an idiom referring to a row of the field which is particularly hard, or rock-filled--a tough row to hoe.
Don't I feel like the village idiot about right now
We also don't get French benefits :)
Don't worry about it - I just heard Dan Marino refer to a FG as a "Feed Gold".
Most people don't know this, but Dan Marino asctually has an IQ of 78. Below 70 is considered mentally handicapped. It may be "funny," but I'm not kidding.

Really.
How do you know that?Guy has pretty good restaurants down here in Florida.

I don't love passing all the time here, but I do think more often than not the Pats will give up 10 yards every three pass plays. As long as Denver sticks with the pass, (i.e., not 1st and 10 incomplete, 2nd and 10 run) or stick with the run, they should be ok.
