Edit to add: Been a Brady fan since he was at UofM. Pulling for the Pats tonight too.

He's completed 60% of his passes for 236 yards, and successfully driven on the Broncos, although he threw one pick in the endzone that was devastating. And the game's not over yet, not by a long shot. The Denver D has been on the field a long time, and the Pats are crushing the Broncos on time of possession. What's sad is, a great performance by the Pats D is getting lost in the Broncos' 17 points on a questionable pass interference play, a 50 yard field goal that should have been a 55 yarder if the false start were called, and a 100 yard INT return for a TD. Plummer has completed 50% of his passes for 134 yards and an INT, and the Broncos have 17 rushes for 39 yards, but the Pats have let up 17 points.

That was my first reaction too, but seriously, which replay conclusively reverses that call?

The thing is that the ref didn't say the replay was inconclusive, implying that the call on the field was conclusively shown to be correct. If the ref meant to say that the replay was inconclusive, he should've said that.

But he didn't say it was conclusive, either.Usually, he'll explain what happened if the call stood as well.

This officiating crew is bad. Very bad. But, there wasn't anything on that one.

Funny how Simms says "when you do trick plays they don't always have to go for TDs."

In his book he says Parcells always used to yell him when they'd call a trick play and he'd check off to a WR 5 yards off the LOS. "Simms if I wanted you to throw the ball 5 yards that's not what I'd call!"

Big difference between 5 and 25 yard play.The ball was in the air at least 15 of those yards.

Also, how was that book? I was meaning to get it.

Pretty good. Not amazing, but worth the read.

Common, the ball was in his inside hand and low when it got hit. It was fumbled forward and to the left. Bailey's body went out at the pylon, he knocked it down. There is no way the ball wasn't over the goal-line during the fumble.

Bringing up stats over mistakes he made at crucial moments of the game? You sound like a Colts fan.Brady can put up 500 yards and it won't mean #### compared to that INT he just threw there should the Pats lose.

Manning can do the same thing, but when the game is on the line, he chokes. Brady has done that 3 times tonight. Misses a TE and 2 WR that cost them a first down, a TD and then a TD swing.The others are the refs and while they are TERRIBLE tonight, you can't point to them for the blame. We have had the chances repeatedly to put Denver down and out momentum wise and we keep letting them turn it around.

I know very little about camera setup for football games, but I imagine the fact that the play started at the other end of the field probably killed the Pats shot to get a good replay.

You are correct - very few static cameras - they all roll near the action if they move, especially sideline cams. Competition committee fodder - static goal line cameras - should be mandatory (from both sides of the field).

That's not true, Manning's always had terrible stats in the games that people call a choke. It's too bad you don't make an effort to make serious points. You seem like you know how to write, you just don't have much to say.

I'm most curious about who Simms said that Parcells said were true superstars in the NFL.I remember reading a quote by Simms about how Parcells said players get called superstarts (or some other type label) too often and went on to name the real super star players which amounted to a very short list.
