Game Thread - Divisionals - New England V Denver (1 Viewer)

Both Mike Anderson and especially KR/PR Adams hold the ball way too loose. Just an observation that may lead to a bad outcome for Denver next week....

You have to consider the Pats a dynasty, they won 3 championships in 4 years (and this game isn't over).  Add the fact in that this is the salary cap era, and that seals it.
I don't HAVE to do jack squat.... I'm entitled to an opinion as much as the next guy.
okay not you then, but everybody that gives a damn about the NFL have to

Well, people can call Peyton Manning a choker when the Colts lose.  Isn't it fair to blame this loss on Brady?  After all, he is the quarterback of the team, and obviously he is responsible for wins and losses.
Please tell me you aren't this stupid. Course if you are, you'd have a lot of company here.If he plays poorly and they lose, than he should shoulder a lot of the blame. If they lose despite him playing well, he shouldn't. Other players andn/or coaches should be judged similarly.

I really don't get why these very simple concepts are so hard for some of you to grasp.
I could care less about the Colts or the Pats. But I just like to point out that football is a team sport. There are 22 players who start for a football team. One player alone should not be give all the credit for a win/or all the shame of a loss. That is the point I was making.
Yeah, that's why you said "he is the quarterback of the team, and obviously he is responsible for wins and losses."Either you're try to backpedal now or you explained yourself very poorly.
Your kdding right? Do you have any sense of sarcasm? Or do I have to use the smiley to reflect that? I was trying to illustrate how stupid people are who call Manning a choker even though he is 1 player on a team of 22. Seriously, get a clue.

look at the haters from around the globe celebrating and releasing the words that were hidden inside them in the last years watching the great Patriots dynasty.

How can you say the Pats didn't beat themselves?  You can't say the Broncos defense dominated nor their offense dominated the Pats defense.
Ok, the Pats beat themselves. That makes it better. Chokers.
too bad you can't call two time defending champs chokers, only habitual losers 'choke'
You don't want me to give the Broncos credit, so I'm blaming the Pats.

Brady made a terrible throw on the pick. And threw maybe two balls poorly the rest of the game...

Anyone who thinks that Brady lost a game where an atrocious PI call and some sloppy fumbles gave Denver great field position, knows NOTHING about football.
That one interception was a 10 point swing. They are losing by 11. Brady takes as much blame as anyone tonight. It is certainly not all his fault but that interception was THE play of the game.

the line next week will be Indy -6.5 at least
I'd say it's Indy -double digits at least. The Broncos haven't shown me a single thing that would suggest that they're a Super Bowl team tonight.

They've been EXTREMELY fortunate.

Well, the Pats did effectively shut down the Broncos rushing game. Jake Plummer did NOT choke up the ball. Denver won the turnover battle and the referreeing battle. Game Denver. BTW, helluva game by Al Wilson.

I was actually going to root for the Pats to win seeing as I feel they have a better chance of beatingthe Colts. After seeing all of the whiny tools in here..... I'm glad they lost. Lose graciously people.

You decide which NFL teams you root for based on the fans of an internet message board?

Hey, I took Denver giving 3 points for some nice money tonight. I have said pretty much everywhere that the smart money was against the Pats. But this Denver team ain't good based on what they've shown tonight. Not good at all.

Denver has done a good job of disguising their blitz quite often tonight. More than anything else, that scares me for next week. Peyton can be fooled, if you can hold off switching/rolling into the blitz or coverage change until the last second. But, overall, Denver's secondary has consistently been beat. Should make for a very fun game.

More than anything else, I'm impressed with Shanny and the Broncos finally learning to "go for the throat." In the past few years, I can't count how many games (both regular and post season) that I've seen them letup. Not tonight. All 3 phases have played 100% every minute of this game. Koodos to you guys, great game!!

I'm not a Pats fan at all. In fact, I root against them most of the time, but anyone who

A) Blames Brady is wrong.

B) Doesn't think the refs affected this game is blind.

I hope Denver wins, but a spade is a spade.
Ask Oakland fans if the refs have ever negatively affected one of their playoff games.

No, Denver will get 4 or 5 to start, and it will move to 6 or 7.

Lots of big plays in every playoff game, and in the past the Pats made them all. Tonight, they didn't. Fumbles, a missed field goal, an INT in the end zone, Brady missing open receivers for TDs...It was wierd watching the Pats fall apart at critical times like this.

Who's whining? I'm not going to read through 30 pages to find out.

Brady finally going to lose a playoff game? He should have just tanked the end of the season so he could have kept his playoff streak in-tact.

Let it all out bro. Crying is good for the soul.

Nah. That move is SO 2002.

I think NE did a helluva job taking advantage of the Denver blitz. They were able to throw over it quite well tonite, much better than just about any other team Denver has played this season.

You think Denver will only get 4-5 playing in Indy?I'd lay serious money against you on that.

My problem with him is that he has missed 2 open TDs tonight. That's simply HUGE. If he hit even one of them NE most likely wouldn't be in this kind of hole. Oh and he missed them BADLY. Look I am as a big of a Brady fan as you can find. UofM days and I would love nothing more than them to win, but he has to stop missing WRs in scoring situations. I know I know two great throws and a TD....let's see if he has anymore magic left.
This will get ignored, but when you combine those 2 TDs with the 2-TD swing his Champ Bailey pass provided, and Brady's got a lot of reasons to feel upset with how he played.
The Broncos were very aggressive on D. That aggression isn't just about sacks - they stop the quarterback from hitting receivers who appear to be open, and force interceptions. Brady threw a pick, and missed a couple passes. Those turned out to be costly. But he also hit a lot of plays he wouldn't have if they hadn't put that pressure on, like the 73 yard pass to Branch. Bottom line, Brady is not having a great game despite his gaudy statistics (341 yards and counting), nor is he having a terrible game despite passes he missed.

Here's hoping they pull out a miracle, but if they don't, I'll go back to what I said earlier - despite the 40 points scored so far, this has been a great defensive game.

Well being a Bronco fan. I still think the Patriots had one heck of a run in the NFL.

Back to Back titles is very hard to do and they have gone down fighting like the true Champs they are.

Just sometimes it is Hard to see it end.

When my team is out I root for whoever I feel can beat my arch-nemisis Peyton Manning. However, after reading some of these posts I don't feel bad rooting against teams that have whiny tool fans......

Ah so making bad plays when your season is on the line is NOT choking. Thanks for that tidbit.
