As far as the game, it was more entertaining than I thought it was going to be (meaning, closer), but New England played about as poorly as they're capable of playing. You never got the feeling they were going to lose, though (or at least I didn't). Anyway, I'm not a Pats fan, but I believe you can now officially label them a dynasty.
Pats played ok.. Eagles played great.. the better team won, and it shouldn't have been that close..

All this dynasty talk must have Jerry Jones kicking himself for getting rid of Jimmy Johnson. He now has to share the spotlight with the Patriots, as well as watching Young take Michael Irvins spot in the Hall of Fame. Neither would be happening had Jimmy stayed. ;)

Good game, I guess. I don't think it would have mattered, but Reid's clock management in the 4t was REALLY strange. Piss-poor actually.COlin

Pats win the Super Bowl, Red Sox win the World Series, Pats win the Super Bowl......................Let's Go Red Sox!!!!!!!!!

The whole offense acted like they were on valium in the 4th. Very weird.Do you suppose it's just because they have been behind so little that they haven't had much experience playing catchup?

Someone on that team has a lot of explaining to do. That was one of the more pathetic things I've ever seen.

you dont see clock management that bad in Pop Warner

Just got back from my party. Great game Pats, you had the better team this year. Good luck next season.

1 - Eagles needs to learn to come from behind...that has not been McNabb's strong point. He panics/gets depressed.2 - Clock management - sheesh.3 - Beating the blitz - Eagles struggled with it early, then got better...of course then the defense struggled, lol.Still, the BOTTOM line came down to turnvers, as most people said it would. McNabb doesn't throw those 3 picks, and its very likely its an Eagles win.Of course he DID, and its a Pats win. Damn. Congrats to Pats.

So help me if Brady wins MVP its the biggest load of bull#### I have ever seen.....
They have to give it to Branch.
Good for little Deion Branch. He earned that hardware tonight. A super Bowl Record 11 catches.end of argument. it's more fitting that Branch got the trophy too to really reflect what a team .... sorry TEAM the Pats are. If they had given it to Brady in the years to come we and our sons (and daughters) would have just immortalized Brady. Top to bottom, the Pats are a team. Now we'll remeber an outfit and not one guy.DEION!!!!!!!! sorry...... the MVP is TEAMWORK and there ain't no I in....... :D

Congrats to the Pats and their fans. Gotta give props to the Eagles for keeping it close. There were many folks on this board that had the Pats winning by a lot more. Good luck to the Pats next year and don't hang your head Eagles fans, you played better than most expected! There were some real good commercials, but overall, I thought the quality was down.

Good game, I guess? Can your credibility sink any lower? Especially if you are a PATS hater, which you seem to be, you couldnt have asked for a better result. The PATS were not letting Philly win this game but they certainly kept them in it.

Both Offensive coaches seem to adjust well after each series in the second half. I do beelive it was a heck of a chess match for the OCs.

Congratulations to the Patriots. Obviously they are one hell of a talented and disciplined team and while I'll probably spend the next 30 years thinking about what might have been, the Pats deserved the victory.Eagles committed 4 turnovers and lost by a field goal, words can't describe the disappointment.

I think McNabb once again showed that he's one of the best in the regular season..... but when the big game is on the line he shows some serious cracks in his composure. He threw the ball poorly all game long.... his receivers (LJ and Pink) saved his ### repeatedly.

McNabb didn't have his best game, but honestly, there's only one SB winner every year. Brady is Brady, but there's not another QB in the league I would rather have than number 5 beyond him.

I agree... very disappointing for a long time Eagles fan. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but there's been a tremendous amount of McNabb-hating on local radio this morning... and even more Andy Reid hating. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly some fans can turn. Two days ago McNabb and Reid were the second coming of Bart Starr and Lombardi... they lose by 3 points in the SuperBowl... and people want to run them out of town. Amazing.Bottom line... they just ran into a better team last night. A better prepared team with SuperBowl experience. McNabb was obviously nervous... as he floated alot of passes. He made some bad decisions. Reid and the Eagles managed the clock poorly down the stretch, but other than that, I thought the team as a whole played a solid game. Owens is a stud. That ankle had to be killing him. Pinkston misses the entire second half with cramps and Owens plays the whole game with screws in his ankle... but I guess that shouldn't surprise me either. As a Philly sports fan, you just get numb to the big game losses after awhile. In the era of free agency, I never thought the Eagles would make it to 3 straight NFC Championships... much less 4. But at this point, I have no reason to believe they can't make it 5 in a row. So we'll try again next year. Note to Eagles fans: McNabb and Reid... they're pretty good. Let's not run them out of town just yet.

I might be the only one who thinks that this one won't be close.  NE is going to run away with this one.  Someone else already said it, but in the matter of two weeks the Pats managed to embarass both the league's top offense and defense.  It could be along the lines of one of the late 80s / early 90s Super Bowl laughers  ... or like the BAL / NYG Super Bowl of a few years ago.  As much as I hate to say it, NE is going to win another one.  I thought PIT was a lock to win today, and NE proved me wrong.NE 34PHI 14
Edit to add: I am a Saints fan, so I really don't care who wins this game. As a Saints fan, this is something I'm used to feeling each Superbowl :DI think your score prediction is being quite kind actually. I have a theory why the Patriots will win huge, but it infuriates the Pat Fans when I bring it up so I won't.The Pats will score everytime they have the ball, and this game will be over at halftime.I see the Eagles scoring a couple of garbage TD's in the fourth quarter to make the final score:Patriots 52Eagles 17I obviously like the Pats giving 6.5 and the over. My other predictions:Game Notes:- Eagles score first (Akers FG)- Patriots score two defensive TD's- Dillon will score the first TD- Tom Brady will be MVP- Patriots score at least 10 points each quarter- Owens will play and catch a TD in the fourth quarter
Just wanted to subject myself to the public humiliation I deserve.I think the preposterous comments speak for themselves.

Congratulations to both teams for outstanding seasons.I'd also like to give the Eagles fans credit in defeat. I have yet to hear a single one whine "we would'a won with a healthy TO." I thought for sure that would be today's favorite catchphrase. I stand corrected ... very classy in defeat.

Hi icon,First of all, congrats to the Patriots. I think clearly, the best team won.

But on your comment about McNabb and the big game, I think it's much like the Manning thing - much of this credit goes to Romeo Crennel and Belichick and the Pats defense.

Sure, McNabb was throwing up prayers on many passes. It's not like he wanted to throw up a prayer. It was the fact given the pass rush and the coverage, he had little choice to throw up the prayer or tuck it and run. And you can't run it every play.

The Patriots forced McNabb out of his game. I don't see this as losing compusure, I see it as the defense creating tremendous problems.

In McNabb vs the Pats Defense, the Defense won. Not because McNabb choked, but because the Defense was better.

At least my .02

Joe,Thanks for the comment. I have to agree that about 80% of the problem was excellent planning by the NE defense. However, there were many instances where passes COULD have been thrown well but they simply weren't. There were two passes by LJ and Pink in particular that were simply WAY off mark and required great athletic play by the receivers to make the catches. Several other passes floated long or came up short.

I don't mean to take anything away from McNabb or the Eagles... they played an EXCELLENT game and I'm quite happy with the end result. Some people say the game was a bit sloppy... maybe it was... but it really was a great game IMHO. I just believe that McNabb could have made some better passes at times when the defense was giving him a chance to....

Then again, I had at least a 12-pack clouding my vision so it's possible I'm way off base here :D

Regardless... I'm going to miss football....
