Game Thread W1 - Minnesota at San Diego (2 Viewers)

Vikes D looking good.
Based on what exactly?
Aside from the int gift, they have had two stops. Getting some good pressure on Rivers.
I don't think we've seen enough of them to make any determination. They also gave up a long run to Matthews, let Gates get loose, and gave up a short-distance TD.
Oh, my bad. :lmao:They didnt break and (like I said) have had good pressure on Rivers. The Gates td is a tough assignment for ANY defense in this league. They look pretty good thus far.
Maybe your criteria is different than mine. QB is completing 75% of his passes for one TD and no INTs while the running game gains over 5 yards a carry. If that's what they do when they look good, I guess I am looking forward to the rest of the game.

Another stop!

Another stop!
For some reason, over the past three years, the Chargers run-blocking has really deteriorated, and Norv seems to call for a lot of runs that have his halfback slamming into the walls. Something like 80% of the run plays in pre-season this year were for two yards or less. That being said, any three-and-out is a solid showing for any defense against Rivers.

Are you watching a different game? The Chargers got the ball on the Vikings 6 and got a TD. Otherwise, they have had 3 possessions, gained a total of 42 yards, and punted 3 times.I'd say the Vikings defense is looking good so far. Exactly what Arctic posted.

McNabb could have run that in for the TD but chose to throw it for a TD instead. TD Jenkins.

Chargers defense is looking pretty poor so far.

AE posted it after the second possession where the Chargers only had ten total plays. At that point, the Vikings had given up as many good offensive plays as they had made good defensive plays. It's pretty easy to come in after the three-and-out and ask "Are you watching a different game?" because we were.

Charger offense looking very unimaginative so far. Straight runs, pass over the middle to Gates...Rivers under a good amount of pressure so far.
