Game Thread W10 - Green Bay V Minnesota (1 Viewer)

Rodgers fumbled the ball in the endzone, picked it up and threw it underhand it to no one as he was falling to the ground. SAFETY!
I was wondering about that. Yahoo GameChannel says it was 2nd and 20 at the MIN 20, incomplete pass, 5yd penalty....and that resulted in a safety. :loco: So...Rodgers retreated 80 yards before throwing the pass? :lmao:

ETA: I know he didn't retreat 80yds, but ya gotta love these game summaries sometimes. lol

That's a horrible call. What is illegal about underhanded passes right at the tight end?
Can you pass after recovering your own fumble? I guess you hardly ever see that. It was clearly a desperation toss and a good call...more of an illegal forward fumble out of the endzone.
Wow, do you even know football? Of course you can pass after a fumble. Yes it was a desparation toss....to the TE who was 5 yards away.Dude, just stop now.

 either way safety was the right call
Another guy who doesn't know football. :lmao: :lmao:You guys better get snogger in here to at least have a Viking fan in here with some class and one that knows football, because you guys are laughable.
I'm classless because the refs have made the correct calls so far this game? Come on! The Packers get more flags than anybody, it isn't just the refs 'this game', pal.

hardly a Viking fan and for you to say someone doesn't know football is clearly laughable. That pass was not close to the TE and was one of the more obvious calls I've seen this year

I don't think it should have been called an illegal forward pass, but IMO, it should have been called intentional grounding. It was in the direction of a player, but didn't have a realistic chance to get there. The question in my mind is - was he out of the pocket? If so, then it wouldn't be Intentional Grounding, but just an incomplete pass. I do think he was intentionally grounding the ball, and I don't think he was quite out of the pocket (ball went pretty much straight back, I think).
# Intentional grounding will be called when a passer, facing an imminent loss of yardage due to pressure from the defense, throws a forward pass without a realistic chance of completion.# Intentional grounding will not be called when a passer, while out of the pocket and facing an imminent loss of yardage, throws a pass that lands at or beyond the line of scrimmage, even if no offensive player(s) have a realistic chance to catch the ball (including if the ball lands out of bounds over the sideline or end line).
I couldn't find anything specific regarding rules about a forward pass after a fumble, but judging by how many times you see a botched snap that is picked up and thrown, I have to assume that it is legal to pass after picking up a fumble.Edit: Just saw the replay - he was definitely not out of the pocket when he tried to chuck the ball out of the end zone.

2-20-GB 10 (12:29) 12-A.Rodgers sacked at GB 2 for -8 yards (93-K.Williams). FUMBLES (93-K.Williams), and recovers at GB -2. 12-A.Rodgers pass incomplete short right. PENALTY on GB-12-A.Rodgers, Illegal Forward Pass, 10 yards, enforced in End Zone, SAFETY.

Will K. Williams get credit for the sack?

Haven't given it you him yet on NFL.com, but he has the FF.

Packers the most penalized team is correct.

No, I think he meant that you're classes because the refs have made the correct calls against his team.

EdwardCat Posted Today, 02:08 PM Aaron Rodgers will almost no time to throw the ball on every play.
And the Vikes O-line has been holding up against the pressure but Frerotte just isn't making the plays the way Rodgers does when he gets time.

I think I'm going to throw up. Ankles aren't supposed to do that.

Ugh, Charles Gordon down. Just watched the replay. Makes me feel sick to my stomach. He's gone for the year.

I missed it and they said they wont replay it. I assume it was pretty bad?
His foot got caught funny under the defender's leg as he was going down and it twisted his entire foot sideways. It didn't exceptionally un-natural.Another run up the gut for the Vikings. Another gain of nothing.

Why wouldn't a personal foul penalty like that be charged after the result of the play? GB was forced to decline the penalty rather than tack on an additional 15 yards.

Grant seems to be running well again...yet McCarthy again seems to be avoiding giving him the ball.

I thought they should have run it more last week too.

And with the Packers deciding not to ever try running the ball...they just keep bringing pressure.

McCarthy better come up with some adjustments at the half.
