Game Thread W10 - Minnesota V NY Giants (1 Viewer)

3-5-MIN 23 (11:59) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass to A.Toomer for 23 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

OK Eli...that is the way its done my young friend!!!
:excited: :excited: in a drunken stupor last night i picked up amani and put him in for Bryant

That was a horrible pass interference call.
But did you hear this tool announcing? He said Winfield had no business complaining. He said #26 went RIGHT through Burress to get to the ball.
Tool is a good description of him. And the horrible call results in the Giants getting back in the game.
The Giants were out of the game?
You know what I mean. The kickoff return had given the momentum back to Minnesota and that bad call gave it right back to the Giants. I should point out, too, that I have little rooting interest in this game, but I just hate seeing a bad call like that change the pace/momentum of a game.

It is too early to go for 2. Any NFL coach with a brain SHOULD know that. That, of course, means, if the score had been reversed, Tice would have gone for 2. :P

The announcer said that Tiki can squat 900 lbs
When Chuck Norris plays Oregon Trail his family does not die from cholera or dysentery, but rather roundhouse kicks to the face. He also requires no wagon, since he carries the oxen, axels, and buffalo meat on his back. He always makes it to Oregon before you.

I think you mean Vin Diesel?

Too early to go for two? So what's the difference with being down by 1 or 2 at this point in the game? Would make more sense to go for it earlier.

I hope you were joking. When you are down two points, especially in the 2nd half, you go for two points.

It is simple. You don't chase the points. It is still early in the 3rd quarter. Ask any knowledgeable NFL analyst or coach and they will tell you the same thing.

ding ding ding ding1 point does nothing for you there - down by 1 or down by 2 - both overcome by a FG, versus the chance to be tied.

The talk all week was how Jeremy Shockey is going to kill Minnesota. Haven't they given up a TD to a TE in like every game this season?Shockey: 1catch for 12 yards. :X

Vikes have been reading their press. Doubled and tripled Shockey all game long.Screen plays against the Giants have been lousy.

OK, let's say they didn't get the two-point conversion and that TD by Taylor had counted (which it should have)...the score then would have been 21-12. In other words, the Giants would have then been behind by two scores. Like I said, you don't go for two until you absolutely have to.

And also don't forget if the Vikes score another TD they are down 16 and then if the Vikes score another TD they are down 35-12.

 What if they make the 2, the score is tied and the Vikings don't get that TD. It's a tie ####### score.

My goodness the Vikes O is lackluster. No running game whatsoever really hurts you when you're ahead. :yucky:Edit to add: A poor passing game doesn't help either.

Right, but again, the odds are against you converting a two-point conversion (although against the Vikings, it is probably higher :P ), which is why you don't go for until you have to. Shall I remind you all how Carolina going for 2 too early in the Super Bowl two years ago essentially cost them the game?

I knew there was a scenario like this, I just couldn't think of it. Makes sense, although they'd still need to 2-pt at some point to tie.

Yeah! 71 yard punt return for Vikes! Moore contributes big.:horns:Funny how slow the HDTV signal is over DirecTV. I bet there's a 10 second lag or more.

*falls over in amazement that the refs didn't throw a flag for an imaginary hold to take that punt return off the board for the Vikings*
