Brees had 384-5-0 tonight.Manning had 393-5-0 and a 472-5-1 in his record-breaking year.I forgot about that game. I was just looking at QBs. Sucks for that guy.Clinton Portis scored our league high a few years back. 60 points for the guy WHO HAD HIM ON BENCHMy league's been around since 1995, and I'm having trouble finding a bigger game in the record book than Brees had tonight. Can anybody else think of one?![]()

I think the "true" Romo is somewhere in between his Thanksgiving performance and a game like this one. I think if he starts for 16 games he can throw for between 25-30 TD's and 3500-4000 yards. What I like about him is that he seems to make good decisions with the football. Kudos to you though if you were able to get good value. Most happy I didn't allow myself to be sold on Romo during his hot streak - made a key trade for Hass to offset what I felt might be Romo's crash. It was built on sand by the media. It was going to happen soon enough.Fall of the Romo Empire is a great sign!QB for the Dallas Cowboys is one of those jobs that the media folk look for reasons to pimp. I have Romo on my dynasty team and respect his abilities, but he was already overexposed after only five weeks on the job.
Try a Dynasty League. They arent saying Boooooooooo, they are saying *$&!*&@#) @!#(*_(# @#*(_ @(*# @(#*_!.I hate this game. And now what do I do for the next 9 months......
A leaky roof is still a roof.Good call. Although Texas Stadium technically isn't indoors.I don't want it to get lost in all this, but I just wanted to echo something that Michaels said. Having a fireworks halftime show indoors is just stupid.
Jim Kelly had 6 passing TDs and 300+ yards in 1991 against the Steelers. That's the only one I can think of. Kelly was my QB that season, my first FF championship. My league's been around since 1995, and I'm having trouble finding a bigger game in the record book than Brees had tonight. That's awesome. The strangest game I found was one from 1996 when we gave 6 pts for rushing TDs and 3 for passing. Kosar went for 368 through the air with 3 passing TDs and a rushing TD which was our record for a long time.Jim Kelly had 6 passing TDs and 300+ yards in 1991 against the Steelers. You mean they don't ride a float back to the French Quarter?Gonna be a great flight home for the black and gold.
Record in our league is Ladainian: 37 carries for 220 yds and 3TD + 11 catches for 51 yds = 67 ptsMy league's been around since 1995, and I'm having trouble finding a bigger game in the record book than Brees had tonight. Can anybody else think of one?
What about the Sunday night game a few years back when Shaun Alexander had 5 TD's by halftime and ended up with over 200 yards I believe.Record in our league is Ladainian: 37 carries for 220 yds and 3TD + 11 catches for 51 yds = 67 ptsMy league's been around since 1995, and I'm having trouble finding a bigger game in the record book than Brees had tonight. We don't do PPR. It's that Portis game in our league.Record in our league is Ladainian: 37 carries for 220 yds and 3TD + 11 catches for 51 yds = 67 ptsMy league's been around since 1995, and I'm having trouble finding a bigger game in the record book than Brees had tonight. It was an innovative idea when they built it in the early 70's. I don't think there were that many domes back then. And a donut without a hole is a danish.A leaky roof is still a roof.Good call. Having a fireworks halftime show indoors is just stupid.Dude, there's a leaky roof, and then there's that Irving embarrasment. What kind of moronic J.R. Ewing wannabe builds a "domed" stadium and leaves about 18 million square feet of roof unfinished?

What kind of a league is this? One that spots QBs 75 pts if they have a huge mole on their face?My playoff opponent got 105 pts from Brees to drop kick me from the playoffs...Clinton Portis scored our league high a few years back. 60 points for the guy WHO HAD HIM ON BENCHMy league's been around since 1995, and I'm having trouble finding a bigger game in the record book than Brees had tonight. Going into tonight's game...18th in points allowed.11th in total yards allows.25th in yards rushing allowed.4th in yards passing allowed.8th in sacks. They're not a great defensive team but certainly not as bad as you seem to think. Pretty middle of the road. They seem to own pretty much any team not in th AFC North.BGP said:Its not about one long run. Its about a season-long issue of not having a defense good enough to seriously contend. They are on pace to give up 330 points, which is pretty crappy. The only saving grace is that the NFC looks pretty poor as a whole, but that doesn't make the Saints a top team.
Raise your hand if you cannot wait for your morning issue of Times Picayune.![]()
We have done this in several games, including the MNF game against Atlanta when we chewed up over 8 minutes of the fourth on one drive. The last 11+ minutes was one of the biggest ##### slaps of all time. 15 straight runs, killed the clock for 11 minutes to basically end the game, and the Cowboys KNEW the Saints were going to run and still couldn't stop them. 3rd and 5, 3rd and 7 - didn't matter. One of the bigger embarrassments I've ever seen in pro football. Cowboys quit.
yea that was pretty classy and total ownage at the same time.Apparently, if the Saints had scored a TD on that last drive it would've been the most points scored against Dallas in the Parcells era. And Payton had Brees take a knee with 3 minutes to go.That's starting to look classy and not showboaty.
I don't know what Payton said to the team during the week, but I can tell you that the game was one of the most important games in the history of the Saints franchise ... which was probably not true for the Cowboys. The Saints have had some games of similar import in the past, but the team's all-time record in such watershed games is pretty poor -- ballparking it without research at something like 2-20 ... maybe three wins.i wonder what he said to his guys during the week since they dumped the gatorade on him. there had to be something other than just being a big game.
You've inspired me to start a thread about Sean Payton in the near future. I was worried when he got hired, because I still remember when Jim Fassel took away his play-calling duties in 2000. Looking back ... I wonder if all that was more of a Kerry-Collins problem -- or was Payton really calling bad games? In any event ... looks like he's learned a lot in the interim.he wasn't really seen as a big loss, but looks like JJ screwed up by not giving him a contract with a guaranteed HC position when BP left.
Update?Comeback in my league done (for those that cared). 3 point bonus for Deuce going over 100 means TO has to be HUGE to end the game, and he never plays well in losses like this.
I tried to explain this exact thing to my Redskins fan friend, but I fear the point was lost. This was a tremendous win for all long-time Saints fans. I'm still glowingbut I can tell you that the game was one of the most important games in the history of the Saints franchise
Yup ... the good feelings from this win definitely have some staying power.I think a win over the Redskins this week is actually pretty crucial, too. Kind of a way to slay the dragons of 2002 (Saints started 9-4, ended up 9-7 and missing the playoffs).I tried to explain this exact thing to my Redskins fan friend, but I fear the point was lost.
