Game Thread W14 - Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys (1 Viewer)

This is fun to watch as a Vick owner
This is fun to watch for anyone who likes football and isn't playing against Vick, isn't a Dallas fan and is able to get past the past.FWIW, I have Vick in 2 leagues along with Maclin in one and DJax in another. Need big games from all, most importantly Vick and Maclin. :goodposting:

Kind of a silly comparison. Brady and Manning are not the running threat that Vick is. When Vick is in the open field, the defense has every right to treat him just like a WR or RB.
So talent level of a player goes into the decision on calling a penalty? How is that possibly legit?
To address the original point, it is unlikely that Brady or Manning would be in the position. Those guys rarely run enough to where they get to the sidelines like that. With Vick, it is commonplace, and if the defender pulls up because it looks Vick is gonna run out of bounds, Vick could easily keep his feet in and get a few more yards. Sorry, but given Vick's style and running ability, you have to hammer him like that. It goes with the territory. But they do get into postion to give themselves up when they're near the sidelines right? Vick's foot was on it's way down out of bounds, he wasn't juking anyone, he gave himself up. The force of the hit was uneccessary roughness.
Take off the green colored blinders. Vick was still running full speed. The Dallas defender had every right to blast him.
:goodposting: Ok. You're missing a pretty good game, maybe you should put on some glasses.

It looked like Vick got hit in the helmet by one of the defenders but I may be seeing things. If not, another bad call but thats where the NFL is going. You can't sack the qb anymore..........

 Really? That's where you're going?
It doesn't fit with your argument so you're just going to dismiss it? As a Garrard fan I know it's annoying when a defender has to pull a machete to get a foul called, but the league has made it clear how they're going to call the game so leave the pocket at your own risk.
Anyone taking a snap is a QB on the play and gets that treatment. Period. I don't care if it is Josh Cribbs or Ronnie Brown. He's a QB.The tangent you're going on makes no sense as we're comparing QB to QB. Not like it wasn't a QB back there - Vick's a QB.

That was a bad call as he didnt really pile drive him or anything. But it absolutely should have been a call on the sideline....

Even Vick knew it was a bad roughing the passer call, he gave the Cowboys the ball back in protest.

Terrible call.
How is that a terrible call when he is under Vick's chin. They have been calling that all year long.
Look like he hit him in the chest, the top of his helmet grazed vicks chin apparently. I wonder if the NFL realizes when you tackle someone you always have to lead with your head regardless of where you tackle him...
It was the same exact call against Samuel a few weeks back, he led with his shoulder but inadvertantly hit his chin. It's being called that way... stupid call, but that's the way it's been going.

What a soul-crushing season this has been. Don't even have the energy to schtick it up in the game threads this year.

The NFL should just outlaw tackling and be done with it....

Well this is just wrong right here.
Actually he is right in a way. Unless you discovered a way to lead with your butt or something lol.

Really? Have you watched Roethlisberger the past few weeks?
Yea he does take a beating, moreso than the pretty boys of the league. Maybe they're just biased against ex-cons and accused rapists?! Seriously though, big ben takes more than his extra share of shots that don't get called.

and this is why this system sucks. no way a coach challenges that outside of 2 minutes unless it is life or death - yet this is 50-50 to get overturned.

wtf...challenge that challenge, how they hell they call that a catch when it clearly shows it hitting the ground?

ok dumb timeout reid lOL wtf

No, it isnt. Unless you have a technique where you move your head backwards right before you hit the guy.

:sigh:Physically yes - but you lead with your shoulder and "see what you hit". Head should be on the ball, which places the helmet off to the side.

Anyone else watching the game on NBC and following it thru CBS gamecenter? Not sure why I am, but I'm noticing that CBS is actually ahead of NBC's feed. First time i've seen this happen

wonder how much jerry paid the refs tonight
Really?...the movies have you philly folk all wrong...you're a buch of pansies...lol...my last post palooka....toughen up....the nfl hasn't been keeping you down for 20+ years....your team has...deal with it....

I know what you meant. Problem is hits like that have been getting fined. I am startng to think Goodell wants everyone to have their helmets face up compeltely, even when tackling, so its all of your facemask hitting the guy, which can cause some serious injuries & actually throws off the defenders center of balance/leverage
