Game Thread W16 - Washington V Jacksonville (1 Viewer)

After coming out throwing the ball, the Redskins end up kicking a 48 yard field on their opening drive. Redskins lead 3-0.

On their opening drive the Jags run the ball on 3 consecutive plays. Then on their first pass, Garrard gets intercepted when throwing downfield to Miller, pass was overthrown as Miller got bumped at the line of scrimmage.

I find it amusing that Garrard still has a starting gig while McNabb watches this game from the sidelines.
Why? Garrard has played extremely well at times this year, which is more than we can say for McNabb. And McNabb is in a more of a QB-friendly system than Garrard is, yet Garrard has much better numbers this year, so again, why is this amusing?

Redskins take the turnover and drive to the redzone and get a PI call in the end zone to get set up on the one yard line. First play was playaction that a wide open Cooley drops. Next play is playaction again, Davis catches it for the TD. Redskins lead 10-0 early.

1st and goal inside the 1 pass...2nd and goal inside the 1 pass........did I mention I have Torain...did I mention I am playing against Grossman

Shanigany is a

Scobee is wide left from 44 yards. This has the feeling of one of those games where the Jags kill themselves with missed opportunities, penalties, and turnovers.

The Jags appear to have calmed down. Garrard passes 20+ yards to Thomas for a TD. Redskins continue to lead 10-7.

I absolutely hate when the Jags do a pitch out to the running back. In the last game and this game, I've seen it run 4 times now with them getting absolutely nothing on the play.

That rarely ever works in college, so why does Del Rio think it'll be successful at the professional level?Time to throw the high school playbook out. :goodposting:

I think it can work at the college level, but at the pro level the defenders are much faster and can cut it off to the outside. I agree though, get that play out of the Jags playbook.

LMAO you should be able to challenge a challenge. The refs this year are a flipping joke. Can't even get replays right.

Wishing I picked up Woodhead instead of Jennings. :loco:

Cooley dropped his fourth pass of the first half.
McNabbs fault....lol.8 for 20, 80yds, 1 td 1 int...wth rex!
Grossman has thrown 5 TD passes in a game and a half as the starter. On the other hand, McNabb never threw 5 TD passes over a three-game span the ENTIRE SEASON, even though he had 13 weeks to do so.I don't know why it is so hard for people to admit that McNabb sucked this year.

The most fustrating thing about this game is that my opponent has the Patriots Defense, who has more than doubled the combined scores of Jennings and Lewis. :bag:

not sure anyone is debating that he was bad, it's just getting benched for REX GROSSMAN carries a really awful stigma.

Torrain goes up and over the top on fourth and goal from the 1 yard line. Redskins retake the lead 17-10.

Deep in their own end, Garrard under pressure throws an interception that puts the Redskins in field goal position right away.
