Game Thread W2 - San Diego v New England (1 Viewer)

Moss is obviously still good, but on most of his TDs this year the defenders aren't even getting near him. As in, not defending him. I just don't understand giving him an 8 yard cushion on 3rd and 5 or letting him run right past you, regardless of whether you have safety help. And especially if you don't. Dennis Northcutt would have 7 TDs if he was covered the way people are covering Moss this year.
Yeah I agree. I mean it's pretty ridiculous...on that one TD against the Jets they ONLY had 3 guys covering him. Seriously wtf, if Dennis Northcutt was triple covered he would've burned them all by 7 yards instead of that paultry 5 that Moss burned them all by.
This has been argued to death in the other threads throughout the week, but 3 guys in zone 5-10 yards away >< triple coverage.
Please explain to me the Jets Zone that places 3 defenders within 5 yards of each other 50 yards down the field.....
Chase Stuart can explain better than me.

interesting that Mangini and the Jets are bringing all these issues to the table. presumably Mangini knew about them when he was with the Pats... guess this is his revenge for being spurned by Belichick.

usually doesn't matter if it's momentum or deliberate when the QB is involved
I wouldn't have been at all surprised if it was called (you can get called for roughing just by looking cross-eyed at a QB nowdays - in fact that "roughing" on Brady earlier was a joke) but it would have been one weak-a## call.
Good mention... like baseball... usually the umpire keeps the same strike-zone throughout the game.

The Brady one would've been weak if the 3rd guy didn't come in super late and slap him in the head.

The tapping into radio frequencies rumor is resurfacing. The report is that the Jets are pursuing these charges with the League office. The Pats got WHACKED. Pretty hard. The Jets need to accept their ### kicking and move on.

I love it. I hope the press is as relentless with this as they were with TO. I hope the investigations are thorough and I hope more dirt turns up on the Pats. It's entertaining. More cheating and bigger penalties would be cool.

It wasn't "super late" and I've seen harder slaps than that in after-shave commercials.UPDATE! SD D made a play!

Andrea Kramer needs to go away.
sexist. We gotta have the token female reporter because.........well, just because.
So far Andrea Kramer has reported the following:1. The Patriots have been accused of stealing other teams Gameplans in the past (How? not part of the report)2. The Chargers decided not to have a gameplan this week for fear that it would be stolen3. The Jets have accused the Pats of tapping into their Radio frequencies to hear there plays4. The Jets have accused the Pats of wiring up all of their DLineman for communication from the sideline.5. The was a Patriots official with OJ this weekend in Vegas when he busted into the hotel room to steal back all of the memorabilia he had previously sold.

For roughing the passer it was super late, and even if you pet the QB's head you geta flag. Besides he shoved Brady's head too. I'm a big SD fan and that was a stupid, late ridiculous defensive play and if I was the coach I would've yanked him out of the game.

Thanks for the info guys...

I do disagree with the idea that this is "over" and we should just move on...

If more illegal stuff was done, the league should investigate and the Pats should be penalized further if found guilty...

And for those saying this is "sour grapes" on the part of Mangini, do you think Belichick would hesitate to purue this to the ends of the earth if the situation was reversed?

why?
Pat fans want this to go away. The dishonorable nature of the charges must sting considering the way they've lionized that team over the years. I don't blame them, but if there is more then there is more and that is the only respectable attitude. We need to know. Slobs sweep stuff under the carpet.

How else are they going to stay in the spot light? If you think it's bad now, wait a couple more weeks when they are out of playoff contention.

The truth would be good, but having it turn out bad isn't necessarily "cool".

Missed this latest "report," cliff's notes?
It's getting embarrassing now. If nothing comes of this and the Jets finish say 5-11, he can kiss his future in the NFL good bye. I believe there a certain level of "keep your ####### mouth shut" amongst coaches in the NFL. This cat didn't get the memo.
You are flat wrong here, IMO...First off, even if the Jets go 0-16 this year, mangini is in ZERo danger of losing his job...I am amazed that he is getting blowback for basically reporting how another team is cheating...

You really think this is because Mangini wants national attention? :)

Great Maroney takes them down the field so Sammy Morris can get a TD, argh.
