Game Thread W3 - Jacksonville V Denver (2 Viewers)

Marshall has cooled from Beast Mode to merely awesome, but man, that kid has some moves.

I'll say it for the 3rd week in a row (and get bashed for it for the 3rd week in a row) this team is not that good.

Does anyone else remember how all offseason the discussion was whether Leinart or Young would wind up being the best pro QB from the draft class last year?

Told you guys Henry would get a TD this year.
Great insight there. Way to go out on a limb. :lmao: Think he will have another 100 yard game?
Hey, the way everyone was talking, you'd think they honestly believed he wouldn't.
No one said that, they said his potential and value are limited by losing a number of goal line carries. This has been the case through 2 and 1/2 games now and is an accurate assessment.

Actually, this is true. But his numbers still ain't bad. I just wanted him to find the end zone at some point or it would become this big yoke around his neck.

I obviously own Henry, but that is not why I said he was an idiot for not running henry on the goal line.. that was pure real football insight.. running your best rb near the goal line has been working for more then 30 years.. shanahan dont need to reinvent the wheel down there just Keep it simple stupid..

And that has been my concern all along. But when you bring it up you get told that Skeletor is a genius.

Agreed, if this trend of losing carries at the GL goes away he will be better off for it, his yardage totals will come down to earth so he needs more TD's. At this point it would make me nervous, but not concerned enough to do something stupid with him.

Wow, the middle of Denver's defense is just getting abused. I don't know if it's because Lynch is out or what, but the DL and CBs are holding up their end of the bargain, and the LBs and Safeties are just embarrassing themselves.

yeah, but he should have 2 today, and maybe 4 on the season..
You realize that Henry is averaging 3.2 yards per carry today, right?
and? last time I checked 3 yards from the 2 is a td..
Hey, if he'd only gotten 1 yard on his first goal line carry, we wouldn't be having this discussion, now would we?

Tell you what. You engineer an offense that averages 2400+ yards rushing a year despite losing its leading rusher 4 straight seasons and I'll start listening if you want to say Shanny is anything but brilliant.

Hey, can anyone who is watching the game try to count the Denver defenders? Just want to verify that there really are 11 guys out there, because I'm not seeing any linebackers or safeties anywhere.

And this is exactly why the Henry "fantasy" discussion around here is pointless.

WOO!!! FUMBLE JAX, DENVER RECOVERS!

Edit: Jack Del Rio demonstrates just how smart it is to keep running your short-yardage back all day long, even when he's not effective. Sometimes a change of pace is a good thing.

I think one of them is the Dummy that guy was using to travel in the HOV lanes last year (Denver locals will get the reference).Denver dodged a bullet there.

MJD is now the official bust of the draft. I would be surprised to see him get another carry over the next two games. Fred Taylor and Greg Jones get the bump.

We weren't discussing Henry. You were saying that Shanny was stupid for the way he was using his RBs. History disagrees.

I agree a change of pace is a good thing, but in order for the other stuff to be a change of pace, you have to run the main rb in there sometimes.. lol which until today hadnt happened.. so running henry was more like the change of pace

Man I'm so sick of watching MJD just run right into the offensive line...I love him has a talent but he should be watching his mentor make more calculated moves. He bounces any of those runs outside and it's an easy TD...not many corners in the league can take down MJD one-on-one.

I hope he improves and becomes more patient.

I forget if I've said it yet or not, but Denver's offensive line is getting NO push today.

You can't read. I never said Shanny was anything.

Henry was averaging 24.5 carries per game. You saying Denver's not using him enough?

MJD seems like the buy-low candidate of the week. You should be able to get him for very little. Teams with depth that can afford the risk should go for it.

In the past he has ALWAYS run his main rb near the goal line, mike anderson, portis, davis.. why isnt henry getting the love? ? why is he outsmarting himself this year?

No worries, as Skeletor calls three plays more consonant with a 21-point lead than a seven-point deficit with five minutes left, and then goes for it on fourth down and they don't convert. JVL ball, 1st and goal.

MoJo again! Can't get in.
