Game Thread W3 - New England V Buffalo (1 Viewer)

Rich Gannon is a complete moron. I can't believe how many mis-calls he's made in this last half quarter. He misses the point all the time. He was a smart player, so I don't understand it.

Anyway... Go Bills! :suds: :pickle:  :headbang: :excited: :banned:

Lions just won on an OT FG.

Lions 3-0 (first time in 31 years)

Bills 3-0.

Cats and Dogs, living together. Hell frozen. LHUCKS voted FFA prom king. Total pandemonium expected in the streets.

press conference questioning BB about the TO

"I took a TO what don't you understand about it" after repeating 4 times I called a TO

:lmao:

If they let Jackson score NE has 1:43 and a chance to tie...why tackle him ?
Players don't think that fast in real time. Jackson would not have thought to give himself up at the 1, for example. The interesting thing is that if this game had happened with the old replay system, would Gailey have challenged the Jackson TD run?

Traded for the Amish Rifle this past week. Might have turned my season around. Buffalo looks like they are going to have a special year.

it was under 2 minutes so he couldn't challenge under the old system either.replay official would have called down and it would have been overturned.

If I was BB, it would be all I could to keep from punching somebody. Taking a TO there was a complete no-brainer. Why is this so hard to understand?

Ah. Good catch.

I think people got confused b/c it looked like he was really upset at the official, and then the ref turned around and announced the timeout. Made it look like Belichick was being penalized somehow or that he didn't want the timeout to be called.Shouldn't have been that tough for people like Gannon and the reporters in the press box to figure it out though.

I don't know the rules but I thought the clock would start when they snapped the ball giving the Pats some more time at the end. Maybe they were going to start the clock right away as a continuance of play. That's the only thing I can see him arguing there.Either way good job by Buffalo staying in the game and not getting down when it was 21-0.

The clock would have started once the ball was spotted. That's why BB was presumably trying to call the timeout before the play was even called a TD.

I don't think so, but a few were tipped at the line so not sure where they were headed.Bills couldn't cover Welker. Gronk made plays against tight coverage. I don't think Branch was getting open.
Branch was wide open at least twice on the Pats last drive, one of which was about 3 yards from paydirt. Brady just wasn't looking his way and tried to jam a pass in low to Gronk in the end zone.

OMG

:excited:

OMG

:excited:

Most important win since Wade left town. I have been sitting on the fence not believing, not willing ....to get excited. But damn, I am witnessing the offensive equivalent to Miami's no-name-defense. Chan for COY!

George Edwards happened.

I was initially confused not by the logic, but by the repeated scenes of BB swearing his head off at the officials. This went on for a minute or two THEN NE was charged for a TO. The way the coverage went down, it appeared like BB didn't want the TO. In hindsight, he was probably arguing for seconds on the clock.

BTW, nobody's mentioned this, but the Bills O-line has been mighty impressive through three weeks.

Everyone (including me) thought they would kill this offense. But Fitz has rarely been touched so far and Jackson was leading the league in rushing.

I think every single long time Bills fan was secretly just wondering which Pats player was going to block that FG and return it for the game winning TD.

cue the whining from angry Pats fans about the Bills sitting on the ball
In typical fair-weather friend fashion, the Pats fans are :missing: .
It's one game. Bills played for 60 minutes. They won.

There were a lot of things the Pats could do better.

That what you wanted to hear?

Pretty amazing that after a surprising win by an exciting and impressive Bills team over the heavily-favored Pats, the Bills fans are STILL the ones whining.

Good win for the Bills, hard to win when you throw 4 picks and have no pass rush, poor tackling etc... It's probably a good motivating tool in the long run for the Pats, lots to work on, including the coaches and their play calling. Ridley looked pretty good.

You know what was weird about the end of this game? When Fitzpatrick took a knee and a flag came flying in and all the Patriot defenders started acting like they recovered the ball, I actually wasn't worried at all. In normal years, that would be a completely Bills-like way of ####### up a sure victory, but this team just has a whole different vibe to it, to the point that I was actually able to trust my eyes and realize that Fitz's knee was down and that the flag was very likely on a NE defender. And it was! This is the second week in a row when the Bills could have handed their fans a gut punch, but actually won instead. This is pretty awesome.

I have never in my life seen a team have such a hard time downing the football. What was up with that.. Was like a repeated heart attack to watch.

Been a long time Bills fan, and adopted the Panthers as my second team once moving to Charlotte.. There hasn't been a whole lot to be excited about recently.. The buzz in Charlotte with Cam, and the young rejuvenated Buffalo Bills team have me re-energized for football..

This is going to be a good season. Go Bills!! Bring on the impending Jim Kelly interview and "Bills of Old" commentary.. I'm ready!!

What a tough game to lose. None of the bounces went the Pats way and Bills played a helluva game... making big plays when it counts. Hats off to you guys. You earned it!

...damn bills screwed up a perfect 11 for 11 betting weekend between college and pros :hot:

To be fair, its not as if the Bills have had many opportunities to perfect this play over the past few years. ;)Great win for the Bills. As much as I don't want to see a division rival getting stronger, it's hard to not like this group of lesser-named ( so far ) talent.

Great game... I see there are a bunch of Bills fans here, so here are my vids from the stands on Jackson's almost TD and the Lindell FG to win it

Also since this the shark pool, I'll add some things I picked up from the game.

Pats d really didn't get any pass rush and played lots of man w/ robber during the game. Really tried to take away the short hooks that Nelson killed the raiders w/ last weak.

Stevie's TD on the fade showed why he is a great receiver, his move off the line faking the slant was sick.

Welker was uncoverable, but the Pats did an excellent job getting him matched up on Bryan Scott and Nick Barnett through the use of their formation and motion. Bills def did not blitz very much and seemed quite content to take any big plays away and hope that the hundred paper cuts of Welker don't beat you. Several times Welker adjusted his route to get open and Brady found him, the last TD he came from all the way across the field and was definitely not the main target on the play.

Merriman was single blocked with ease by the Pats OL, but is playing surprisingly effective rush def, really setting the edge well.

Bills run game has a lot of misdirection blocking in it, and then Jackson is just making guys look foolish.

Beware of the trap game this week @Cincy

Bills Fans are classier than this, its pretty much the entire rest of the league that dumps on the pats. Thats fine, Pats are gonna go 18-1 again this year.

My favourite part was the 3 kneel downs before the field goal to win it. :lmao: Coach Gailey pulled off a Belichick or maybe not, "The Hoodie" would have probly thrown to Welker or Gronk instead of killing the clock, Way to stick it too him coach. :lmao:

I hope "The Hoodie" or Brady was miked up during the last scoring drive :lmao:

The Bills this year never seem to be out of a game very exciting to watch this year.
