Game Thread W3 - New England V Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Bwaaaa-haaaaa-haaaaa. That was one of the stupidest decisions I have ever seen from an experienced player like Randle El. Did he think he was back in Bloomington?

That play could have saved the game for the Pats. I am almost certain the Stillers would have scored, and a 10 point deficit would have been a back breaker for the Patriots. :towelwave:

That better not count as a Ward fumble.
It won't. A player has to exhibit control of the football before fumbling to be credited with the turnover. Like, for example, if a running back drops the pitch by the QB on a sweep, the QB is considered to have fumbled since the RB never had control of the ball.

Notice how both teams are trying to work the whole clock. Bethel Johnson sighting. His neck is cramped from spending the last couple years in Belichick's doghouse. He responds with a one yard catch and runs out of bounds. If you're hanging onto him in a deep dynasty league, you're a very optimistic person.

Lost in all that was that it was great awareness and pocket presence by Roethlisberger to make that pass to Antwaan.

Matt Light down. If we win this game, it will be a miracle. Matt Light is very underrated and has been a big key for the Pats O-Line since he became a starter as a rookie.

Johnson did almost break a long kickoff return up past midfield, but it was called back because of penalty.

Expect the Steelers blitz to the left side and force Brady to throw it away. Hopefully the Pats run right. Losing Matt Light for an extended period of time would be a major blow to the team. From a fantasy perspective, though, it could be good for Ben Watson owners. Graham is a good receiving target, but is almost an extra offensive lineman. Remember last year when he was averaging a TD+ over the first four games, then the O line got dinged and he disappeared? Expect him to disappear completely until/unless Light is healthy. In the meantime, Watson will be the main target from the TE position.

Huge stop by the Steelers to get the ball right back for their offense after what could have been a game-changing turnover.

what's the unofficial record for most players carted off the field in the first half? I don't ever recall seeing two players in a half that had to be carted off.

if they go with two TEs on the majority of plays, if not it's bad for Watson .....

For anyone who isn't watching the Dallas - SF game, you're missing two things. One, the 49ers have already hung 21 on Dallas. Two, Witten now has 6/85/1

A play like that is where NE really misses Charlie Weis. He would have called a play that would have had Brady immediately roll right to avoid the pass rush that was predictably coming from the left side.

An actually pretty good game. JJ is looking solid as well.

If Light's gone for an extended period of time, the Pats will be going with 2 TE a lot, and putting Watson in motion to exploit matchups.
