Game Thread - W3 - San Diego@Denver (1 Viewer)

Griffin has had no room to run. We knew he wasn't a guy who could break tackles -- he needs the Broncos O-line to open some of those huge holes for him. So far he hasn't seen any, and it looks like Shanahan may have decided to go with the bigger back instead.Gates is playing but has had few if any looks. Brees is terrible.
WTF is up with Tomlinson leading passer at the half. Picked up brees as a bye week filler and he has 8 attempts at the half for 16 yards... ugh

yea, just one half but I'd be pretty worried right now if I were a Griffin owner. Make all the excuses for him that you like....he has no yards rushing at home against the Chargers. He also only has half of his team's carries. He needs to do something in the second half to salvage his game, otherwise we are looking at 2 bad games in a row following a great one against the Chiefs, which now has to be taken in a little bit of a different perspective after what we've seen from the Chiefs since.
One very worried Griffin owner. I traded away Tiki Barber after week 1 thinking I could rely on Griffin. It appears I made a big mistake.

Guess it depends what you are expecting from him. When I drafted him I never thought he would be the sole ball carrier (he was my RB3 in my auction). Yeah, he had a great week 1, but they always had other backs waiting to steal carries. If you were expecting week 1 production every week, then your expectations were too high. Saying he sucks though, that's a completely different story.

Wow, Swammi do you have mad love for Griffin or what? I'm sorry to insult Quenty-poo. You've now obsessed over my comment that Griffin sucks in three separate replies. I don't think he sucks as a football player, only as a fantasy player.I didn't realize people were so sensitive that saying someone sucks would insite such emotions.Again, I apologize profusely for such a horrific comment.

Well, add me to the "worried Griffin owner" group NOW. DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!! :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: With Big Steve gimpy looks like I may actually have to trade for a second RB. Wonderful.

Does another fumble constitute being a less than preferable fantasy player (I wont' dare say that he sucks again)?

I think that was a fair assessment going into the season but if you thought that after week 1 then you should have made trading him your #1 priority because someone would surely overpay after that monster game.

Yup, his fumbling has been a problem every game. Up to now, he didn't have any fumbles. Now, Q is in serious trouble of losing touches.

Griffin really sucks! Two costly fumbles in different games and another the game before.Mike will bench him when Bell will be healthy

Thought you knew. If fantasy QB's got points for dropped balls then Brees would be an okay plug but these recievers and this offensive line looks like the one I lined up behind in high school. terrible 1st half for the Boltz but, (Brees complete to Osgood) its still only a 10 pt game and Sd is about to score.

I considered dealing him, but then came SDavis' frigging injury, so I had no choice. I may actually have to start running Emmitt out there as my RB2 if Skeletor pulls Griffin.

Of course I tried....but the league I am in no one was going to overpay for one game. Guess I don't have any guppies in my league. Bettis was being heavily shopped too with no takers.

What do you think the odds in vegas would'ver been that Brees < LT passing yards, but brees > LT rushing tds and that Brees receiving yards > than Brees passing yards.

No Swammi voted against Q before he voted for him.

I'm both a Q and Bell owner. And as much as I loved what Griffin did Week 1 at KC, I'm realizing that the end of the tracks is approaching for the little train that could, Quentin Griffin. The Bell will be ringing soon.

I think he got the next carry just not to bench him in this situation that would be terrble for his morale.Just one way to get up:a long run for a TD, avoiding some tackles in the open field

Why'd they go for it on 4th-and-9 instead of letting Elam try the 50-yarder?:pissed-offelamownerplayingagainstlelie:

yea, if he would have manned up and played today, he could have taken the job already but no, he wimped out and had to rest his little rib bruise. Bell panning out after taking him late would be absolutely huge for me after Suggs being a sack and J. Jones going down.

Wow, nice catch by Lelie! He climbed the ladder on that one.
Yup. Two unheralded stories in this one are the SD defensive effort - - they've been very, very good - - and Lelie's emergence. I'm glad I have him on my secondary team. There's a catch by Gates for everyone who has been asking about him.

Couldn't agree more, Lelie is having a very good game. Getting open AND making the catches. Unfortunately, I don't have him.

No offense dude but if you're starting Brees IN DENVER even if it's because of a bye-week, that's on you. You were expecting......?

Now don't insult the sensitive Swammi, who told me to get a clue when I said Q sucks. Swammi later went on to say that Q sucks. By definition, that must mean that I had a clue. That is Kerry-esque indeed.

It will be very interesting to see how Shanahan uses Griffin in the fourth quarter of a close game.If he trusts him, and Q holds onto the ball, it will be good news for his owners. If he yanks him, it's pretty much game over.

Sarcasm people, sarcasm. ANNOUNCING MORE SARCASM TO FOLLOW:Since Q sucks so bad, you should just drop him. He's worthless and hurting your team.

Yup, Shanny wants to see Q succeed. But there is a point where he will have to swallow his ego if its gonna cost his team a win. It will be interesting if he gets the carries or not.

I think we all agree that today, he sucks. What that means for his full season outlook is left as an exercise to the reader.
