Game Thread - W3 - San Diego@Denver (1 Viewer)

Rushing stats w/ 12:34 left: ATT YDS TD LG G. Hearst 2 13 0 11 R. Droughns 2 10 0 9 A. Lelie 1 8 0 8 J. Plummer 2 1 0 1 Q. Griffin 8 -1 0 3 T. Nalen 1 -4 0 0 Looks like RBBC to me...

WTF is up with Tomlinson leading passer at the half. Picked up brees as a bye week filler and he has 8 attempts at the half for 16 yards... ugh
No offense dude but if you're starting Brees IN DENVER even if it's because of a bye-week, that's on you. You were expecting......?
I know.. I know... The guy I was playing picked up the 2-3 other available qb's in FA. I was expecting Denver to be up big, and to get a bunch of garbage points in the fourth.

It's not RBBC,it's just everyone sucks,so you have to throw 32 times in a game you are leading easily...Don't you know I'm a Q owner?

You know, the SD run defense today has been nothing short of spectacular. Hearst got stuffed a couple of times on that last series himself. Incidentally, LT2has been no worldbeater either, and he fumbled too.

Now don't insult the sensitive Swammi, who told me to get a clue when I said Q sucks. Swammi later went on to say that Q sucks. By definition, that must mean that I had a clue. That is Kerry-esque indeed.
Sarcasm people, sarcasm. ANNOUNCING MORE SARCASM TO FOLLOW:Since Q sucks so bad, you should just drop him. He's worthless and hurting your team.
WARNING SARCASM:Man Bell owners did you get the shaft, Q is stepping it up and is the undisputed #1 back. Better drop Bell ASAP and pick up someone who can actually score you some points.

Words I never thought I would hear...especially with them on the road. But watching the game I have to concur. Now that they got a stop....will Q get the rock with a 10 point lead?

Griffin just increased his production by an infinite amount with just one carry. Let's see Bell do that!

Sigh.

The good news is at least Q is still in the game, not on the bench.

You're right.I think Q has been a one game wonder and it hurts me, after J:Jones went down and Faulk is so unused by the GENIUS Martz

Yeeees he will. And he's doing fine with it so far. Hard to believe, but this is as much as product of tough run defense by SD as anything else. Bell would have had a similarly tough day.

To add insult to injury, I think he just lost it all back with Leber's penetration into the backfield.

Pitiful that the Griffin backers are finding reason for optimism after this debacle. San Diego's run defense is not solid...quite the opposite and worse Denver is playing at home. So Griffin's still getting carries....what would you expect? Bell's hurt and benching Griffin at this point would only serve to demoralize him further. Bell has not been able to stay healthy so far and Shanahan isn't going to just hand him the job when he comes back. But the damage has been done. Bell will get his chance and after the past 2 weeks, it doesn't look like he will have to do much to take the job outright. Say.....something better than 12 carries for 7 yards (0.6 ypc) and a fumble. Griffin is done as the feature back.....RBBC until somebody steps up.

Well, actually I think we do need to tip our caps to the Chargers here. As I said before, nobody expects Q to break a lot of tackles. He's supposed to get the ball, hit the hole and then make people miss in the open field. Today, there were no holes, and there was no open field. I just hope this was a case of SD front playing great, and not that they've figured something out that other teams can copy. If the Broncos O-line is outplayed like this again, I don't care if they have Bell or Hearst or the 1998 Terrell Davis back there, they won't gain many yards.

Yes he's gone.Everyone was predicting him with a 100 yard game and at least one score.Don't you remember Mike benched Portis for 4 or 5 games just for fumbling in the pre season? And now what you expect from 3 fumbles in a row?We have just to scout Bell

Echo. Couldn't agree more. Infinite Justice, if you're not giving the Chargers credit for this one, you're discrediting your own anaylsis pretty firmly. If it was all Griffin's fault, Hearst would have been out there for sure at the end.

Couldn't agree more that SD was very effective in stopping the run by allowing any holes and getting backfield penetration, not to mention the Broncos had their way in the air today. But unfortunately for Q this does open the door for Bell to take some carries when he was healthy. I think most of us knew in the preseason this could be a RBBC, but given Shanny's history I hoped he would settle with 1 back. After week 1, I thought that Q was closing the door on Bell. His week 2 production was marginal against a tough D, but the fumble to lose them the game was a killer. We all know what he did today, which will only fuel the Bell fire.I drafted Bell as well, so I just hope ONE back will end up with the majority of the carries.

To close, Q doesn't suck, and I think he will still be an effective fantasy RB3 this year. Bell still has to prove he can stay healthy and produce. I am not sure that is a given, either. I will continue to start Q with confidence until Bell gets the majority of the carries. Q has game breaking speed, and almost took a little screen pass to the house today if not for a shoestring tackle.

So what analysis? Is Griffin done or what? Sounds like he looked like crap!!! Would you start Dunn or Faulk over him at this point? I was thinking he might be stud.

The analysis is that I would watch it very closely this week before starting him again.Don't bother trying to trade him... you'd be selling at rock bottom prices at this point, since I figure that today's disaster will get plenty of hype.I don't think we can say for sure that he's done -- after all, at the very worst he's opened the door for Bell and we don't know that Bell can take advantage of that. A month from now we might look back on today and wonder what allthe panic was about. But no mistake, today was not a positive for Q owners in any way, shape or form.

I can't believe Q owners are actually defending the SD Defense as the only reason why Q sucked so bad today. :rotflmao: Step away from the Kool-Aid

Look. SD took away the run today and Denver went to the pass almost immediately, and news flash, they won. None of the Denver RBs did well today. Q touched the ball only 12 times and a few of those were at the end of the game...and oh yes, by the way, if Shanny was going to bench Q, why was he in there at the end?
