Game Thread W4 - Green Bay v Minnesota (1 Viewer)

People need to stop with the "if GB had kicked the FG" Stuff. GB made the right call and their TE simply messed up the play. GB could have just as easily attempted that FG and the kicker missed it. It would have been no different.
;)Couldn't be more wrong.
The coach called a play that should have worked and would have worked had his TE executed it. One guy ruined it. A kicker could have just as easily been that guy who ruined it. Laugh all you want, but any coach in the NFL or even high school football would go for it 100% of the time if you could promise them their TE would have that opportunity as the end result of the play.
1 - The coach did not call a play that worked. If he did, then Rodgers wouldn't have had to go to his 4th or 5th read. He got lucky that the O line actually held off the hounds because they didn't at any other time tonight.2 - When you are trailing, you never pass up an opportunity to put points on the board before the 4th quarter.
Yes he called a play that worked. He called a play that put his team and players in a situation for success. It's up to the players to execute the plays.
The play called is not what worked. Here's where I pretend that I'm shocked that you don't understand that :lmao:

I couldn't help think tonight of how good could Minnesota be if they took Aaron Rodgers instead of Troy Williamson in that draft.

If one thing can be made clear tonight, it's this. Brett Favre NEVER played behind an O-Line as bad as this one. Rodgers is a keeper. The focus for GB must be to add talent to the O-Line.
Baloney!!!!!!! The line when he threw 28 intercepetions was the worst in NFL history by a long shot. This line is at least twice as good if not three times. He also didn't have the greatest wide receiver core in the history of the Packers and noted to be the best in the NFL right now. Favre did it with only ONE wide reciever (Driver) and no tight end.

Are you stupid? By this logic they should go for it on 4th down every time. I mean so long as the coach calls a play that works they should jut execute it, right?

This line is not twice as good as that one. That one still had Clifton and Tauscher and I believe Flanagan at C.Colledge at LT...then Lang...is not anywhere close to that line. Please stop.

Thank you Mr. Thompson and Green Bay for letting Favre go. Signed the Minnesota Vikings
the JETS were saying the same thing last year in Octoberguess what happened next
The Defense went home and gave up 30 pts average per game requiring Brett to try to come back 20 pts down every game with only half an arm. The DEFENSE was so bad they fired the entire coaching staff after the season.

Like your lame comment tonight that the Vikings were calling plays to pad Favre's stats. :excited:

Well Vikes fans, Im happy for you that your team is 4-0. You have a great RB and a phenomenal defense You also have tremendous fans and are long overdue for a team that can make it back to the Super Bowl. That said, the hoopla around your QB makes it difficult to root for you. Hope you understand. Also, not crazy about your coach.

Congrats again.

:excited: NO, I'm just not blind is all. Oh, never mind. You win since you reverted to the name calling 1st!Bad call should have kicked the FG.

That hoopla is well deserved.

I don't think Favre had a RB named Peterson last year. I look foward to how this year ends up :excited:
good luck...if Favre comes out without injuries from Lambeau..........
He hardly got touched tonight and the Packers have shown little to no pass rush all year. What makes you think it's going to change next time?

It was not my comment...but those who roll their eyes at it...come on.AdP back there...2 play action from inside the 3? What do you think that was about. And no, not Favre's fault...not blaming him.Its just obvious enough that other people saw it.

You agreed with it and it showed your bias against him to acutally think the Vikings were calling plays to pad his stats. That is just ignorant, sho, and you know it.

Most of the haters have been sighing the last few weeks.

 You're a joke to actually think the Vikings were calling plays at the goalline to pad Favre's stats. You never stop.

Yawn...nothing changes...even in a post where Im not blaming Favre...its apparently bias against him to say anything about the Vikings now.

all I need is phase and the gang will be all here.psst...im not the only one who thinks it may have been happening...No, I don't ever stop dealing in reality...you should try it some time.

Favre absolutely torches his old team on MNF while his replacement withers under the pressure and haters are still grasping at any excuse possible.
Umm...who is hating or making excuses? And I don't think Rodgers withered under any pressure...unless you watched a different game where he did not keep getting back up and gunning for more?

Who gives a crap if they were padding Favre's stats by throwing inside the 5? The plays worked, and they won the game, so who cares?

Rodgers played great, too. If Lee catches that 4th down pass in the end zone, who knows how the game turns out.

Wrong! The reality is you actually think the Vikings coaches were calling plays to pad Favre's stats. That is whacked......not reality.

Calling plays around the endzone to try to pad Favre's stats in this one...

Its the truth. Twice down inside the 3 they called play action. It about burned them once.
I'd say this is proof to show you actually agreed with the comment they were calling plays to pad Favre's stats. sho, you really need to think before you post sometimes.
Umm...I never claimed I did not agree. I do think it played into those play calls. But you really need to think. Some of you just jump because oh no...sho nuff posted something negative...it must be just hating Favre.

Yeah and Tyson kept getting back up against Lennox Lewis. He was still outclassed.

You love every minute of it.

Great game Viks. For how hard it is to see Favre in purple, it's both sad and pleasurable, to still see the magic.

You guys have a great thing going on right now. Enjoy it.

Props to the Vikings. They were the better team tonight and deserved to win. Favre was magnificent and Allen also was outstanding. The Vikings are a legitimate Super Bowl contender at this very early juncture of the season. Whether that's still the case in December remains to be seen but they're off to a great start.

I don't really care. Apparently there are 2 who care so much that I agreed with a comment they have to keep going on and on about it...well, they don't care about the actual play...just that I had the nerve to agree.

Funny that you snipped the part of my post that you had no valid response for.

Umm....you actually think the Vikings called plays near the endzone to pad Favre's stats. Sorry but that really makes you look like a nutjob.

Outplayed? Yes.Outclassed? Seriously...do you even read what you type before hitting Add reply? The guy was pretty damn classy.Say he was outplayed and had 2 crucial mistakes...got no problem there. But your other comments seem way off.

No...I really don't love posting over and over to try and defend myself from the onslaught by the usual suspects...who make threads about me rather than the topic. Can you...or any of them stick to football rather than whining more about me?Just once?

Well....I think we'd love to hear your explanation that the Viking coaches actually tried to call plays that were designed to pad Favre's stats instead of trying to win the game. Seriously.....you have no credibility since you actually stated the Vikings were trying to pad Favre's stats tonight.
