Game Thread W5 - San Diego vs. Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

That looks like a bad injury. Hopefully it's just hyperextended, but the way it happened, it could be a torn ligament.
I thought hyperextension as well, hopefully nothing else.
We can only hope for Hyperextension.
dude is obviously in pain...but it's hard to say at this point. It didn't look like the knee bent funny or anything like that. He's a strong guy so I'd think he'll be okReed going for 40 yarder with 10 secs...that's def. within his range.

I see injuries like that and I feel dirty watching the game...wish they could invent something to go around the knee to absorb those kind of hits...I know it's a pipedream but maybe one day.
Knee Airbags.
I think it's called a knee brace. Probably off patent by now. ;)

I don't get to watch too many Steeler games, but when I have, Big Ben has played with so much poise. His stats don't dictate it, but man, the guy is a complete winner. Sucks to see him go down like that.
I agree. I am a Patriots fan and they have rattled him. But every other game I have seen he has look like a great leader. I have him as my 3rd QB in one league but that means nothing. I hope it is not serious.

Not much of a Steeler fan, but I like Big Ben. He was just really starting to come into his own. Let's hope he is ok
He seems OK, but you never know. It didn't look good. It's up to Reed now!!! That 2-point conversion was a big stop.

Crap...I thought my idea was golden.

I looked once and it looked a bit like the Raiders RB from a few years back...maybe 10 years back...not good.
It did look bad but not as bad as the Raiders RB. I think it was Napolean something.
Napoleon McCallum was that Raider RB and it was the UGLIEST injury I have ever seen. The guy could have bit his foot--his leg was bent 90 degrees the wrong way.

I was just saying I tore my ACL and MCL at the same time a few years ago. The pain is unreal.
Not surprising. Women are much more likely to tear ligaments than men under athletic conditions. It is one huge drawback of the women's sports movement, that there has been an epidemic of knee injuries to women.

Playing "Take Me Out" over the loudspeakers. I'm a Browns fan, and I pray they'd never do something like that for an injured player, even a Steeler.
Browns fans cheer an injured player? You mean like your own QB Tim Couch as he lay motionless on the turf with a concussion? Nah......

Man that Hines Ward TD called back cost me my game....AND...I may have lost my backup QB...great week.

We'll have to wait for the MRI. You never know. McAllister's injury didn't look as bad as this one, but it may actually be worse. Knees are hard to tell just by looking. I still remember Edge's injury (as a Colts homer) and it just looked like a mild twist.

This drive started on the Pittsburgh 38...why can't Kickers kick them out of the end zone when it counts...should have started at the 20...I would scream bloody murder at my kicker for not kicking it deep enough on a critical drive like that...lousy.

Nap McCullom's (sp?) injury was MUCH MUCH worse.... It was almost McGahee like.
McCallum's injury was McGahee times about 6. Worst looking thing I've ever seen. Almost made me puke.

depends on thesport - skiiers and basketball players, b/c of allthe twisting knee motions take INSANE numbers of ACL injuries.

it wasn't exactly an, um, atheletic condition.

That's the key - it was a twist. ACL's pop on twists that look like nothing.Straight into the knee it is very hard to tear MCL or ACL. Is there a PCL , that can tear in a straight on knee hit?

what was it?? If I may ask...

wait wait wait a second....that was a facemask penalty!! Can't end on a defensive penalty!!
I saw it too. had he kept the ball been tackled at the 48 yd line...Triplett flag happy called the penalty and it was assessed...would have been a 48-50 yd try and the way NK has been kicking...San Diego got jobbed.

great week.
Couldve been worse. Deuce and Najeh couldve been your 1,2 punch.
Yeah, but I have DJax and McNabb is my starter....Could be the start of a move for replacements....

Don't say it what it was...our imagination is far better than what you will type in here.

For the record, I've been in more fights at games with Browns' fans than fans of opponents over such things.

He really got kicked in the Nads.

sure did...not sure how you miss a guys head being turned half way around....pretty weak considering how tight they called everything else.

Yeah, I noticed it too...hope it's bad coincidence. Otherwise,   to that ##### running audio the stadium.

Be careful about Karma. Pitt ended Harrison's season late in the game with a knee injury.
It would be Karma if there were a cheap shot or something involved. Harrison's injury just happened. Kinda like Ben's just did.

I officially HATE Sproles! He totally just screwed me. I had my game won by 1.74 points until that miserable worhtless loser fumbled the ball with no time left on the clock to take away a full 2 points. He's already been cut because I can't stand the thought of that miserable jerk on my team anymore.

Dude was trying to lateral the ball to a teammate while being tackled. Sucks you lost because of it but I couldn't blame him for trying to keep the play alive.

Nothing like the Raiders... believe me. Oakland Colliseum is like stepping into Compton on game day. Metal detectors, security everywhere. You'll get gang-banged for just cheering the opposition.
