I finally get to see a game

Good call.  I see Atlanta doing with Michael Vick what I saw Philly do with Randall Cunningham, which is to say failing to put quality talent around him.

I think what they've done the last two years has been a step in the right direction. They brought in a oline guru and they have really gotten their running game to be a top notch 1-2-3 punch. They drafted WRs in the first round the last two years instead of just picking up a Dez White and calling that an "improvement". Of course Crumpler has been there for the duration. I have been targetting next year as the big year for Michael Vick to make big strides in the passing game.

Perhaps. I still don't understand how you don't give your franchise QB a first-rate WR for the sixth consecutive year. As for the rushing, the ability of Vick to scramble, which certainly an asset, in a sense falsely inflates those rushing numbers. I grant you, they're a good rushing team, but not as good as those numbers suggest.

The fact is that Vick doesn't generate enough offense overall as the QB for me to respect that offense all that much. I personally think it's asinine to put him in a WCO system. They should be in the one-back, play-action based offense that allows him to throw deep. I've said the same thing about McNabb.

I'm all for developing young WR's, but they should have made a shot at a good veteran FA WR is my point. Just in this last offseason, why not go for Derrick Mason or Plax? I agree with you that the QB is the issue, but the team has clearly wed itself to him long term, so I'm questioning the decision-making in light of that decision.

Why?? He doesn't use his wide receivers, he runs or throws to his tight end. No sense investing heavily in a player who won't be used much.

Oh, don't get me wrong- it was a terrible decision to bring him in.However, 99% of the fans thought he was going to do well and deserved that big contract. And with a WR making that much money, they couldn't really afford to pay another FA WR big bucks.

Usually when a QB is that close to the endzone he doesn't get enough time to go through all of his reads so that indicates to me that Sellers might have been one of his "top" reads on those plays (i.e. a designed play). I'm just wondering if Cooley got hurt and wasn't in there at the time. Also those two catches were the first for Sellers this year, which is all the more reason to think something happened to Cooley. That and the fact that they've scored 40+ points and he hasn't scored.

No they weren't, he has 4 TDs this year already.

My mistake. He only had 3 catches all year but two did go for TDs which I didn't see in the game logs.
