Perhaps. I still don't understand how you don't give your franchise QB a first-rate WR for the sixth consecutive year. As for the rushing, the ability of Vick to scramble, which certainly an asset, in a sense falsely inflates those rushing numbers. I grant you, they're a good rushing team, but not as good as those numbers suggest.I think what they've done the last two years has been a step in the right direction. They brought in a oline guru and they have really gotten their running game to be a top notch 1-2-3 punch. They drafted WRs in the first round the last two years instead of just picking up a Dez White and calling that an "improvement". Of course Crumpler has been there for the duration. I have been targetting next year as the big year for Michael Vick to make big strides in the passing game.Good call. I see Atlanta doing with Michael Vick what I saw Philly do with Randall Cunningham, which is to say failing to put quality talent around him.
I wish they would - I'd rather be watching any other game than this one."We're going to be taking you to a more competitive game"

The fact is that Vick doesn't generate enough offense overall as the QB for me to respect that offense all that much. I personally think it's asinine to put him in a WCO system. They should be in the one-back, play-action based offense that allows him to throw deep. I've said the same thing about McNabb.
In a word, "Not complaining since Moss will give me a good amount of points for his work today but do you expect him to see much action here on out?

Seriously, it was pretty apparent during his first year there that he wasn't that guy, and yet they've yet to do anything else about their WR situation other than drafting . . . Roddy White?
C'mon. White may turn into something, but this is a pretty weak effort. As a Portis owner, I have to count 'em one by one.

I'm all for developing young WR's, but they should have made a shot at a good veteran FA WR is my point. Just in this last offseason, why not go for Derrick Mason or Plax? I agree with you that the QB is the issue, but the team has clearly wed itself to him long term, so I'm questioning the decision-making in light of that decision.Peerless Price??Michael Jenkins???You sure that's a good "defense"?In their defense, they thought that P Price was that first rate WR.Perhaps. Roddy White???
Thats a high priced signee and two first round picks. Do you really think it's wise to keep going after WRs, when clearly the quarterback is the issue??
.Novak kicks 49 yards from WAS 30 to SF 21. M.Hicks MUFFS catch, and recovers at SF 22. M.Hicks to SF 28 for 6 yards (M.Sellers).1-10-SF 28 (10:56) (Shotgun) R.Marshall left end to SF 21 for -7 yards (L.Arrington).2-17-SF 21 (10:09) PENALTY on SF, Delay of Game, 5 yards, enforced at SF 21 - No Play.2-22-SF 16 (9:52) K.Barlow right tackle to SF 25 for 9 yards (L.Marshall).3-13-SF 25 (9:15) (Shotgun) A.Smith pass incomplete to B.Lloyd.4-13-SF 25 (9:07) A.Lee punts 52 yards to WAS 23, Center-B.Jennings. J.Thrash pushed ob at WAS 41 for 18 yards (J.Maxwell).

Why?? He doesn't use his wide receivers, he runs or throws to his tight end. No sense investing heavily in a player who won't be used much.I'm all for developing young WR's, but they should have made a shot at a good veteran FA WR is my point. Oh, don't get me wrong- it was a terrible decision to bring him in.However, 99% of the fans thought he was going to do well and deserved that big contract. And with a WR making that much money, they couldn't really afford to pay another FA WR big bucks. You sure that's a good "defense"?In their defense, they thought that P Price was that first rate WR.Perhaps. Um, Sellers was open?Any reason why Sellers got 2 TDs and Cooley none?

Washington Redskins begin at 13:02
1-10-WAS 49 (13:02) L.Betts right end to SF 41 for 10 yards (M.Adams).
2-18-SF 41 (12:25) L.Betts right end to SF 32 for 9 yards (B.Moore).
3-9-SF 32 (11:39) R.Cartwright left guard to SF 31 for 1 yard (M.Douglas).
1-10-SF 31 (10:57) R.Cartwright up the middle to SF 26 for 5 yards (M.Douglas).
2-5-SF 26 (10:17) L.Betts left end to SF 4 for 22 yards (S.Spencer, M.Adams).
1-4-SF 4 (9:30) R.Cartwright right tackle for 4 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
You called it redmanThey're going to yank Portis after he gets his 100 yards IMHO.
Is SF saving Barlow for the playoffs or what? Play your best weapon! You called it redmanThey're going to yank Portis after he gets his 100 yards IMHO.
They were two short TDs in the redzone according to the box score. Usually when a QB is that close to the endzone he doesn't get enough time to go through all of his reads so that indicates to me that Sellers might have been one of his "top" reads on those plays (i.e. a designed play). I'm just wondering if Cooley got hurt and wasn't in there at the time. Also those two catches were the first for Sellers this year, which is all the more reason to think something happened to Cooley. That and the fact that they've scored 40+ points and he hasn't scored.Um, Sellers was open?Any reason why Sellers got 2 TDs and Cooley none? This isn't Mom handing out milk and cookies where everyone gets a "fair" amount.

My mistake. He only had 3 catches all year but two did go for TDs which I didn't see in the game logs.No they weren't, he has 4 TDs this year already. They were two short TDs at the goal line according to the box score.
