Game Thread W9 - New England V Indianapolis (1 Viewer)

belichick is a tool...didn't even give Dungy the time of day. dungy tried to talk to him and he just walked away.

what a jackass.

It basically came down to the pressure the opposing D could get on the QB ... NE got it on Manning much more than IND got it on Brady.

Colts relaxed for just a few plays in the 4th quarter.

And now the Pats pretty much have locked up the Super Bowl.

Ouch.

Who was Brady yelling at?
With 1:45 left in a 4 point game, as Brady takes a knee... the Indy players are playing hard tryng to disrupt the center-qb exchange... and Brady got upset and was yelling "WHY DO YOU GOTTA DO THAT!?!" ... to the Indy players.

Great game to watch, as a fan of neither team. Playoff intensity, close to the end. Can't ask for a better game.

Pats are going to be tough to beat with home field. Harrison was missed. And so was Gonzalez evidently. Moorhead couldn't catch a cold. Beyond awful. Addai ran hard.

Pats are the class of the NFL right now. But the Colts aren't too shabby. Very surprised at their defense.

Injuries on offense clearly cost the Colts, they had tons of trouble moving the ball. Even a QB as good as Manning needs receivers who will a) get open and b) catch the ball. Good game, Colt's fans. The near-inevitable rematch in the playoffs should be great.

I guess we know who Number One is. I think if these two teams play 10 times... it will be about 50/50. Indy had it in the bag and played good ball for 50 minutes but then Brady and Co. made the plays that counted. Hoepfully it will be just as good a rematch.

Colts had a number of drops but Manning wasn't anything amazing. People need to stop kissing his butt - I'm a Colts fan and even I'm tired of it. He had a number of bad throws, his pocket presense was only fair, and was an even worse scrambler than I thought.

I agree, Dungy is a jackass. He should keep his mouth shut and just be thankful Manning gets the benefit of the worst PI calls I've ever seen.

Seriously, I don't agree with that. The game is still going, the ball is still live.
Well didn't Vrabel do something on a kneel down a couple of weeks ago?!?!?!?

Hate to see New England win here, but I have to say Indy got somewhat lucky. IMO, New England suffered from some poor refereeing today- the long pass interference call and the pass interference that should have been called against Indy. The Colts played terrific defense throughout most of the game, but in the end, they couldn't handle Randy Moss. If the two teams play again, (and while that seems a lock you're never sure until it happens) it won't be this close. The Pats were clearly the better team, and probably the best team ever. I really don't see anyone beating them this year now.

Pats homers, Indy homers, everyone welcome- give us your thoughts about the game and how the next one might be different...

Not having Harrison was causing problems all game. It just finally caught up to them in the end.

He didn't cost them the game though. Those dropped passes change everything.

He took a shot at someone's knee. That didn't happen here.

I'm not sure. I don't think guys should take free shots at the QB on a kneel down but nothing wrong with a D-lineman trying to make a play on the center/ball.

:wall: at Belichick being a hard### while shaking hands with Dungy. The guy probably goes home and kicks the dog for fun.
I wasn't paying attention. He blew Dungy off?
Don't know if he blew him off but he had a look on his face like Dungy had just spit on his mother.
When someone compares you to Barry Bonds you tend to not want to swap spit with him and pretend it didn't happen.
Yeah, kissing him probably would have looked bad.

Good point. When you get caught cheating nobody should say anything about it.

Brady and Manning were not the stars today.Rodney Harrison makes a HUGE difference for the Pats D.I dont think the rematch is as much a gimme as some are going to say just because it is in Foxboro. The Colts look to be built for January in Foxboro better than the Pats are. Sammy Morris makes a big difference to the Pats. I think they have a better chance at running the clock out with Morris than Maroney.

He has every right to. BB did what he did. Yet. I don't think BB's going to be all touchy feely with him after he does.

:goodposting: Addai and the Pats D were the stars today... and we see the difference Moss can make where you can just throw it up for grabs and he'll come down with it.Brady and Manning pretty much played the same and the Pats were the better overall team. (not scoring td's in the 1st half hurt Indy)

:goodposting: I just thought the look on Bill's face was hilarious. Like when a little kid wants to show you that they're mad. :
