Like another poster said, IMO that means that it's just solo one offs, so that would take stuff like Planet Earth and Cosmos off the table as well is that was tim's intent. And yet, not A documentary. It's a series of them, just like 30 For 30.
Mrs R will make you pick one of the films, but you don't get them all.You people just take the Up series and be done with it. Sheesh.
I don't see how. That would be akin to having you take one episode of The Civil War or any other Ken Burns series. Just because these were released seven years apart doesn't make them any less of a whole...in fact, it makes them more amazing. To me, the Up series should also contend for GOAT, though I know tim judges that and he is weird.Mrs R will make you pick one of the films, but you don't get them all.You people just take the Up series and be done with it. Were they ever shown on American television? I'm only familiar with them as US art house releases.I don't see how. Not that I'm aware of. Could be taken in the "foreign" category, too. Were they ever shown on American television? I'm only familiar with them as US art house releases.
Now you made me go over there and check the categoriesNot that I'm aware of. Could be taken in the "foreign" category, too.
I saw a band three or four weeks ago that played behind a brewery. It was an Allman Brothers tribute band. There were pods that people were placed in that were about 12 feet apart. The pods were basically these big taped squares. On my walk with Louis tonight, we came upon a Jazz group playing in a vacant lot across from a small urban green space. It was good to see people playing music.
Cosmos is Carl Sagan's personal take on the universe in 13 episodes and done. It's not just "this week we are talking about lions". It's just not even similar.Like another poster said, IMO that means that it's just solo one offs, so that would take stuff like Planet Earth and Cosmos off the table as well is that was tim's intent.
I don't see the big difference between Animal Planet and Wild Kingdom despite one lasting longer.
Cool. Then I wouldn't have to judge them. Not that I'm aware of. Could be taken in the "foreign" category, too.
I really don't think the criteria on what is a documentary are as hard as everyone is making them out to be. It kinda seems obvious to me. (And sorry, KP, that means your choices wouldn't make it.)Cool. Then I wouldn't have to judge them.
This is like herding cats.
Thanks for clarifying the criteria in the other thread. You’re the best and I agree 100% with your reasoning.Cosmos is Carl Sagan's personal take on the universe in 13 episodes and done. It's not just "this week we are talking about lions". It's just not even similar.
SureThanks for clarifying the criteria in the other thread. You’re the best and I agree 100% with your reasoning.
Now can you PM me your 2nd favorite doc (after your own selection of course)?

Sorry to hear. 2020 surely sucks. Thanks, I fear not unfortunately. Father in law's cancer has spread to spine, ribs, lymph nodes, etc... not good.
630pm EST, thanks!!@mphtrilogy said to skip him after 6:30 PM. I don't know what time zone he's in, but it's now past that in the entire continental US. @Yo Mama is up.
I tried that last time and didn't work...You people just take the Up series and be done with it. Sheesh.
It got rejected from the movie draft because they’d first been on TV, though. Would be hard to see it rejected for the TV draft, then.mphtrilogy said:I tried that last time and didn't work...
yep, will mull it over...It got rejected from the movie draft because they’d first been on TV, though. Would be hard to see it rejected for the TV draft, then.
Well, the judge hinted that she hates it.yep, will mull it over...
Skip for now, be back soonok - not sure what time it starts. I'll give @Raging weasel some more time.
Almost went this as a cover (Fugees version)My dad played Roberta a lot when I was growing up. This is one of my favorite soul songs.
Round 7
Killing Me Softly With His Song - Roberta Flack (Soul Town)
I hate when this happens, one of my favourite songs is designed to always be played with the song before it but no single song version is on Spotify which is particularly frustrating in shuffle situations, causing anxiety by making me listen to one without the other. The link is to God is Love/Mercy Me which is what I'd put on the mix, but Spotify doesn't combine them

This is why I go to Youtube in such situations.I hate when this happens, one of my favourite songs is designed to always be played with the song before it but no single song version is on Spotify which is particularly frustrating in shuffle situations, causing anxiety by making me listen to one without the other.
I put them both on the Spotify playlist back to back. As long as the mix isn't shuffled that should work.Round 7
Soul/Motown
Marvin Gaye - God is Love

One of my friends had never heard this song until a couple of years ago. How was it possible to be alive in 1994 but not to be aware of this song? Apparently by spending all your time on Grateful Dead tour.
