I'm not sure what rock you all are hiding under. Karlos Dansby is going to be a stud at STRONG SIDE LB this year. The position is becoming a huge fantasy point producer in certain defenses. Check out Angelo Crowel(BUF)--filled in for Takeo last year and with Spikes back is moving over to the Strong side. These guys can rush the QB AND drop back in coverage=sacks AND interceptions. Just a heads up...start checking these guys out. No longer is it just the Weakside or MLB that score the Fantasy points. These NEW breed strong side guys will be sleepers this year. Grab em while ya can. Next year they will all be ranked quite high. If you are not in a keeper league its just not the same. Get your league together and make them do this. IDP players and keepers. The best way to play fantasy ball. FYI we keep 20 players every year...and have a 15 round draft. Ya better do your college scouting in our league or you lose.
It remains unclear where Dansby will play when he returns. He's been rumored to play all three roles at different points this offseason. If Pace has impressed coaches as much as they've said publicly (rather than just a ploy to get Dansby back in pads), Dansby probably bumps the weakest link -- Huff -- and becomes the WLB. The toe injury is an issue with both leverage and pursuit, though, and will impact him no matter where he plays. Also, for clarification purposes, it's been reported and confirmed that Angelo Crowell will be the ROLB this year and likely align on the weak side significantly more often than Takeo Spikes.I don't disagree that teams are no longer shy about putting a playmaking backer on the strong side. Without a very favorable situation, though, their upside is limited. Derrick Johnson, Marcus Washington, and Karlos Dansby were the best of the best in 2005. None of them sniffed the top 12 in standard scoring systems.
