Getcha passports ready - the middle-aged dummies are going to the British Isles! Top 31 song countdown. (1 Viewer)

she's having my baby. what a lovely way....

My friend Doug (not Dr. O's friend Doug nor our very own Doug) wrote me an email once alleging that that song has the worst lyrics of any song ever written, because while he's addressing his pregnant wife, all the lyrics are about him! The narcissism...his “seed” growing inside her! So when Doug's wife was pregnant with their fifth son, some friends had a baby shower because there was an eight-year gap between their fourth and this one, and they didn't have any baby stuff. During the party, Doug told the crowd he had something special to say to his wife that could be expressed only by song, and then sang this ridiculous song. Everyone was absolutely dying.

DeSean Jackson dropping the ball at the one is what I think of when I think of Philly football. Thank God for them they have that Philly Special, or they'd be a punching bag. Silver Linings Playbook was perfect with all the family wearing Jackson jerseys. Truly hilarious.
I always think about them cheering when Michael Irvin got hurt.......

My wife believes there’s no doubt that Rihanna is pregnant again right now — like 5-6 months along.

What does the house here think?
Only if she's carrying it in her thighs
Not sure what you mean but it’s been officially announced she’s pregnant
I looked online quickly for this and couldn’t quickly find confirmation. Just looked a few minutes, though.

- For the first time in Middle Aged Dummy history, an artist will have an octuple-up. :lmao: And get this, the octuple-up will comprise seven different songs, with only one Deja Vote.

Trying to divert attention from that bad call...

In addition to our octuple-up tomorrow, we'll have have a quintuple-up from another artist that includes a Deja Vote.

Maybe more interesting(!), going into our #3 choices, we have 16 people who can still "own" their #1 picks. After tomorrow, we'll only have 13 who do.

I’m sorry, Eagles fans. You really got screwed.
I'm consoling myself by assuming that we wouldn't have stopped them anyway because we didn't stop them the entire second half.

There has been discussion on this board that, because the league is now so heavily tied to the gambling industry, the day will come when some, maybe all, penalties will be reviewable. I wonder if this incident pushes things further in that direction.

greatest halftime show there ever was or ever will be

Prince has entered the chat.

Heck, last year's halftime show was much, much better than this one. And, of course, Prince's. And Petty. And I'm sure many others.

But, admittedly, I totally do not get the love for Rihanna. I watched the halftime show with my wife and didn't think any of her music was particularly good or interesting.

Are you guys referencing the late defensive holding call on Philly? IMO as someone without a dog in this fight (in fact, as a Chargers fan predisposed to want KC to lose):
  • The call was technically correct.
  • It was a call that is probably made ~50% of the time, so not crazy it was called.
  • There was a worse call earlier in the game when the refs did not call defensive holding or DPI on a similar play when MVS was held blatantly, leading to a Chiefs 3 and out... it balances out.
  • Had it not been called, the Chiefs probably go up 3 points and the Eagles get the ball with 1 timeout and about 1:30 remaining. Odds are that they would have lost in that situation, anyway.
I know this isn't the thread for this discussion, just saying...

They may make that call 50% of the time in the first 50 minutes, but less than 5% in the final few minutes

Guys! I have a top 36 for the catch-all countdown!

Subject to revisions, of course. But I actually started working on it not long after finishing my British list.

Most shouldn't cause consternation if I end up being listed first on the playlists again -- but not all.

Are you guys referencing the late defensive holding call on Philly? Are you in a bizarro world where people are talking about a DIFFERENT late-game call? IMO as someone without a dog in this fight (in fact, as a Chargers fan predisposed to want KC to lose):
  • The call was technically correct. Maybe? But see below.
  • It was a call that is probably made ~50% of the time, so not crazy it was called. Please provide stats and video to prove your assertion, including the 50% of the time it was and wasn't called. I'm not buying it, but open to proof otherwise. Without that, you're talking out of your *** as much as I am!
  • There was a worse call earlier in the game when the refs did not call defensive holding or DPI on a similar play when MVS was held blatantly, leading to a Chiefs 3 and out... it balances out. Irrelevant. There were "bad" calls all along, though I feel that officiating overall was good. Calling out one in an entirely different situation as a balance is not relevant.
  • Had it not been called, the Chiefs probably go up 3 points and the Eagles get the ball with no timeouts and about 1:30 remaining. Odds are that they would have lost in that situation, anyway. Yowza. I think saying they wouldn't have been able to get in place for a tie or win with 1:30 remaining is a huge stretch. The better argument on this whole thing is what Pip already said, which is that likely the Chiefs score anyway.
