It's cosjobs' list that came in way late. I really couldn't be bothered.

I'm giving him Leo Sayer's demo version instead.
That is truly horrifying.

yeah, the only "list" Leo Sayer needs to be on starts with "****" and ends with "list".

Seems I missed that we had a Pink Floyd and an Elton John double-up in addition to the Oasis double-up and Elvis Costello triple-up. All of these are going to become more common as we get higher in the points and fewer different artists are selected.

We're also at a point already where I can't point out known-to-me favorites as there are way too many. Instead I'll just give a shout-out to more under-the-radar choices. From today's list, I choose the Gomez song as my special shout-out. Fantastic band and song.

I'm intrigued by the selection of Hugh Laurie (from TV's "House") and eager to listen to that one.

Quite a bit of new stuff for me to listen to today.

There's a cool symphonic version of The Killing Moon that I listen to often.

Kiss Me Deadly is a great song, but the conceit of Lita Ford going out and not getting laid is a real stretch.

Neither Notorious nor Mad World were the first choices for their respective scenes in Donnie Darko but won out because of rights issues.

"It's Ali, with an 'I'."

Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress) - The Hollies
(duplicate – second vote)

@falguy , for spreadsheet purposes, please note that the title was wrong the first time this one came up. Above is the correct title. Sorry I didn't catch it the first time!
Parentheses in song titles are sometimes perplexing, and this is one.

The Hollies were probably insecure that listeners wouldn’t like a song about a long cool woman. But it’s ok, she’s got a black dress on.

Duran Duran wrote a pretty cool song around an extremely dumb title that's true to both the band's and the Bond sound.
A View to a Kill is my favorite Bond song, and I agree it is very true to the Bond sound. Shirley Bassey does my second favorite Bond song, but since she is Welsh I won't mention it since it may be on someone's list.
My favorite Bond tune is from a different woman, also eligible here. I doubt anyone will draft her here, but her significant other commutes daily by rail.

Made my last 5 out.
That couldn't be more different from your avatar, but major respect there.

heh heh - just changed it. The peer pressure got to me. Seems like a good day for it.
Up the Irons!

I already reached the point where I decided I need to move to top 10. Here is my top 10 from the 5 point round, excluding my own selection:
  1. @Yankee23Fan : In The Air Tonight – Phil Collins
  2. @Manster : Mother - Pink Floyd
  3. @Chaz McNulty : Wonderwall – Oasis
  4. @worrierking : Tempted - Squeeze

  8. @krista4 : Somewhere Only We Know – Keane
  9. @Chaos34 : All Right Now – Free
  10. @Andy Dufresne : On The Turning Away - Pink Floyd
...and it wasn't easy to narrow down to the top 10!

Kiss Me Deadly - Lita Ford
(new artist)

Wait... Lita freaken' Ford is from the UK? I did not know that. This is a great song.

I'm a little surprised at the number of female artists / lead singers I had no idea were eligible.
I did a double take as well. News to me.

Lita Ford on Her Wild Teenage Days in ’70s Southern California (Noisecreep, 4/25/2012)

... [Lita Ford is] so synonymous with the Sunset Strip and its rich rock 'n' roll history, but the singer reminded Noisecreep that she wasn't even born in the States: "Yeah, a lot of people think I'm originally from here, but I was actually born in London, England and my family didn't move to the Los Angeles area till I was in the second grade. Even though I wasn't born here, I definitely still consider myself a California girl," said the 53-year-old rock queen.
