Giants-Jets MNF game (1 Viewer)

Okay, it is only preseason, but it is still great to see football back on Monday night.

7-0 Giants already, after a horrible INT by Sanchez and a runback to the 1 to the Giants, leading to a Jacobs TD plunge on 3rd down.

Man, Greene is a wrecking ball.
and he caught a pass!!!I expect him to have Thomas Jones-ish numbers this yr
Kid looks good. I wouldnt mind the Jets limiting his touches a bit more than Jones. I think 285 carries is a good number. I might be mistaken, and maybe it was because LT just caught that nice dump off pass, but did LT come out for Greene at the goalline? Not that there is too much to read into, but Greene will see plenty of GL looks IMO. Important for his value, no?

It looked like LT was still in there

There were no goal line plays.

TD pass to Brad Smith? LT looks much better with the Jets line, I must say. And he was in there for this series, not Greene, interesting.

Tomlinson looks better than I thought he would, I have to admit. The big thing for him will be staying healthy and/or not getting dinged up.

Keller getting a lot of looks early.
Keller is going to be nice value this year.
Last week. I heard Keller respond to a question about whether he had chemistry right away with Sanchez. He said (paraphrasing) absolutely not. Had to really work through it and that Schottenheimer really stuck with them working through it. May be why he is getting a lot of balls.

TD pass to Brad Smith?
A play from the 4-yard line is not a goal line play. Once they get to the 1 or 2, that is a goal line play. If/when the Jets get there, that is when to pay attention to what RB is in there.

What do you consider "goal line"? It was from the 4 yard line...I think I consider anything inside the 5 a "goal line" play

great game so far.... lots of holding on part of Jets OL.... haven't seen enough of Giants OL to see if they are just as guilty... LT definitely looking like he has gas

I don't agree, but we can move on.

Okay.
regardless of "goal line," LT has played in both red zone possessions.
True. That should no surprise no one. Even with his poor production last year, he still scored 12 TDs, so he can still be a TD-scoring machine. I think anyone assuming Greene will get all or most of the short yardage/goal line carries is kidding themselves. If he is healthy, Tomlinson will still be a short yardage guy.

LT looks good b/c it's preseason game 1. Wait a few games into the regular season and he'll start to show his wear-n-tear. But that's okay, he'll be just enough to play the 3rd down role and keep Greene fresh enough.

As a comparison, last year Ricky looked fast and fresh until later in the year when Ronnie went down and then when he had to carry the load, he started to break down - as shown by multiple fumbles late in the year.

But used sparingly, LT should be okay.

Is it me, or is the Giant Offensive Line looking . . . well, offensive? Seems to be an issue.
They're missing a few guards and all their TEs.
Snee is out and 4 of 5 TEs are out. Whimper is is in for Snee, Surprised they aren't going with a line of Beatty, Diehl, Ohara, Seubert, Mckenzie, while Snee is hurt.Thought for sure I saw Seubert in there, but I keep reading he was out as well as Snee. Hopefully the Guard they drafted come along to add needed depth.

Jacobs looks slow and indecisive and now he hits Manning because he doesn't know what the play is? Very disappointed in Jacobs so far.

Is Holmes active. There had been talk he was going to get lots of preseason PT because of the 4 game suspension at the beginning of the year. Haven't seen his number called and the TD went to Brad Smith. Really just the Cotchery and Keller show.

I like the announcer "He was probably done for the evening anyway" - nice positive spin on the fact their QB just left the game with his head gushing blood.

Reminds me of that wound Y.A. Tittle had. Head wounds, bleed a lot, he'll get some stitches and be back at practice tomorrow.

Eli should come back for another series, show the team toughness and leadership, they need a spark, the offense is looking soft.
