Major League

Slap Shot

Longest Yard (orig)

Eddie
Major League had some pretty good scenes and lines ("look at this ####ing guy") but overall it was an uneven movie. The whole love interest sub plot was terrible. Slap Shot and Longest Yard are two of the best sports movies ever. Absolute favorites of mine. Any man that doesn't like those movies needs a beating.

Never saw Eddie. Looks like a big turd.
I was ready to ipunch you for besmirching Major League but I can't really disagree with your disdain for the love story part
. I just don't think they knew what kind of a movie they wanted to make. If they had made it a little less cheesy it would have been better. Still funny though. Hell, Bob ueker almost makes up for everything else.

The Usual Suspects
I'll get hammered for this but I'd say it was good but not great. Stellar cast for sure but I think Singer is a pretty lame director (look at his imdb page. A whole lot of pedestrian goop). In the hands of somebody else like Fincher it probably would have been much better.
I friggin agree!!! I felt like something was wrong with me but the whole Kaiser Soze mystic drove me nuts.
Yep. Goofed it all up.

The Road Warrior

Mad Max

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

Mad Max: Fury Road
Let's do this in the right order:

MM: not very good even for a B movie

RW: Awesome for an action movie...and I like very few action movies. Not sure what separates it but whatever it is it worked. Maybe because it at least tried to be somewhat "realistic"? Logical backstory? Max isn't some invincible caricature? Either way, I'll watch this whenever it comes on.

MMBT: not as good as RW but still pretty great. I know it is an unpopular opinion but I really dig the whole story about the kids and captain walker thing. Hell, I'd love to see some sort of remake/offshoot just about that whole story.

Fury Road: have not seen yet. Want to for sure.
You sir are a ####### idiot

Agree about the love story, but Having Rene Russo on the screen during it helped distract me from the awfulness.

Hey look, Grandpa Negativity started his own thread where he pretty much ####s on everything! :)

1st off there is no way Thunderdome is better than Mad Max . It's a C at best. For me Mad Max is the best , better characters ,Goose ,Fifi , Johnny the Boy ,Toe Cutter & coolass Bubba Zanetti

Yea but it was filmed with a potato. I get the budget was like $100k but it really shows in parts. The story drags in sections and the action is uneven. Yea the characters were unique but at no time did I feel like they were relevant.

Thunder dome was better budget and better effects. Better overall plot but not put together well and the acting was bad.

Boy Meets World

Who's the Boss

Growing Pains
I'm too old to objectively judge most of these. Didn't watch them since they were kids shows.

Who's the Boss was really bad and Judith Light or whatever wasn't milfy enough to make it interesting.

Growing Pains sucked..I think. When it was on I was busy getting drunk and bird dogging chicks with low self esteem and a taste for wine coolers. And now that Kirk Cameron is a well known lunatic and his lunacy was part of the backstage stories about this show, makes it even less appealing.

The dubbing or redubbing made it almost comical.

You being all level headed and explaining yourself logically is weird. I mean, I think I kind of like it, but I'm not sure I want to. Like a finger up the butt.

:lmao: Best analogy ever.

I will say that I totally get why certain generations are still into shows like saved by the bell and boy meets world. I can't judge because I'm the same way about the Brady Bunch. It's stupid, dated, and vapid but I grew up with it.

What about your generation which appears to be not into ANY shows, movies or music? What do they call your generation?

Eh, I think he's been pretty fair. Different strokes for different folks. It's where he goes into threads on things he knows he hates (i.e. superhero movies) and craps on stuff that is more bothersome.

And in the name of equal time...

I think Watchmen was damn good. Never read "the book" (snicker) but damn fun movie. Batman Begins wasn't terrible either. That's about it.

I'll get #### on for saying it but Batman Begins >>Dark Knight>>Also Rises

And Bob Uecker makes anything automatically awesome

1. Yes

2. Agree unless it is a celebrity sex tape with no audio.

Total Recall

New Girl

License to Ill
I actually liked total recall. Probably the same reasons I liked Road Warrior.

Never seen new girl but Zooey DeschNneel looks sorta like Katy Perry so...

License to Ill was a big chunk of the soundtrack that made up my big time partyer days. Fun as hell but the BB later albums were superior.
