Give Me a Movie/TV Show/Song/Band and I Will Review (1 Viewer)

Bond Movies
Hmmmmmmm....tough call. I grew up watching Bond movies so there's a lot of nostalgia involved.

First few Connery flicks were solid. He was the best Bond, of course. Moore's film so were pretty weak. Once they got to Dalton and Brosnan I gave up. I have seen the Craig films. Not the greatest in any sense but I think he's the best since Connery.

Stripes

Mountain Men

Lonely Night by Bryan Adams

The Cars
1. I've seen this movie dozens of times. Like Animal House or Caddyshack, it was one of those movies that seemed to be on HBO every 4 hours back in the late 70s-early 80s. Funny for sure. But in all honesty I watched it again about 3 months ago and I realize it probably isn't as great as I always thought.

2. Is this some sort of reality show?

3. When I finally hear a Bryan Adams song that doesn't make me want to firebomb all of Ontario I'll let you know.

4. Cars have already been covered, RIF.
You serious Clark?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnmSPxQyh0M
100%. Adams is a turd farmer.

B-52's

The Pretenders
1. Their first album actually had a big impact on me. No shtick. At that time, in my school, disco and crap like AC/DC (yeah, I said it) ruled the roost. I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for but it wasn't mainstream/radio stuff. I had heard a little punk and new wave

Before but the B52s self titled was probably the first "different" album I heard all the way through. That opened the door to all kinds of other music that wasn't played on the radio in my town.

Not a huge fan of most of their other stuff, like when they became more of a party/dance band.

2. I and II are freaking stellar. Probably two of the best albums from the early 80s. Both still get decent rotation on my spotify. After that? A whole lot of really pedestrian, mainstream fluff. Pretty said really.

Saving Silverman

The Rock

The Doors (the band)

The O.C.

American History X
1. Not as funny as it should have been . Think I watched it once and forgot about it.2. Run of the mill action film. Tons of plot holes.

3. A few solid songs but ultimately overrated. Some real talent in that band but they produced a lot of tepid music.

4. Never watched it because I'm not a girl.

5. Pretty great. Norton really carried it for sure. The last act was a slight dip compared to the rest but it was forgivable.

Dumb x 4
Did you actually see all 4?

If so, then you fail the game of life.
If I take a bite of a dog #### sandwich and it tastes like ####, I don't need to eat four entire dog #### sandwiches to know what they're going to taste like.
which one did you actually see?

most of the first and all of AoD. Both terrible.

Will you see the next one in the theater, or wait till video?

I haven't seen a Bond movie in the theater since the early 80s. I'll wait until it shows up on HBO or something. Even then I'm not going to seek it out.

Moonlighting

Crash

Will Oldham
1. Always thought it was overrated. Pretty good for its time but I never got into it.

2. Probably the only 2/4 star movie to win Best Picture. Utterly forgettable movie.*

3. No clue about his music

*Plus it has Sandra Bullock in it. I have a theory that it if she is in a movie it will never be more than "OK" or "decent". I'm not saying it is because of Bullock, purse-hay, but she doesn't help. Maybe it is some sort of a curse. Check her IMDB page if you doubt me http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000113/ "A Time To Kill" is about the only exception although that isn't "great".

I'm not going to say Crash is the worst movie I've ever seen. But it is. It's the worst movie I've ever seen. Makes Weekend at Bernies 2 look like Chinatown.

to

Dug it. But I think "Lock Stock" was better. Then Ritchie pulled a Quitnton Tarrantino. Meaning his shtick got old.

BTW Lock Stock was great.
I agree with this. Snatch was more polished, studio built. Lock stock was better though.
Disagree. I think Snatch is the superior film, though both were excellent.

Ritchie since then: not so much.

In space, no one can hear you crap your spacesuit.

Silversun Pickups
Honestly they, somehow, have slipped through my radar. I should know more about them but I only know a couple of songs. I can't give them an honest review.
Fair enough. How bout Incubus?
Eh...I've probably heard 3-4 of their songs. 'Megalomaniac" or whatever had a cool sound etc. Can't really say much more than that.
It's funny to me that you enjoyed a song called "Megalomaniac".

Because I totally am, right? I mean I have to be to post the stuff I do.

Second takeaway from this thread... I know you despise all things metal, but other than that, you listen to some good tunes. You're missing the boat on Sugar/Bob Mould/Jawbox as stuff that should be firmly up your alley but with which you seem largely unfamiliar.

You shouldn't even have time to read this post right now. You should be downloading "Copper Blue", "Workbook", "Black Sheets of Rain" and "For Your Own Special Sweetheart."
