Are y'all drinking too, or is it just me?

I have to get up at 4am to catch a flight to Newark. I'm hoping to drink to unconsciousness soon.

Last call. I'll be in Morristown NJ (50 min train to Penn Station) through Friday and Bopston Mon and Tue if anyone want to find a hole we can corn in.

On the bright side, my onlyu nephew and only hope to carry on the family name/legacy is getting married.

On the bummer side, my only sister has just been diagnosed Stage 3 with Uterine? cancer and starts chemo Monday.

At least I get a few days break from my dying, demented (not being mean, I am a good son who sees them all the time and supplements their Assisted Memory Care as needed}. Its just where they are and its so so so draining. Mom keeps falling. Broke her arm earlier this month and has a huge black eye. Fortunately no memory of it, but she's so old and weak and pitiful. Its so sad.

Did I mention I've been drinking tonight?

Any update from you guys on kevbrother or RAIDERSfamilycluster?

 
Oh hey, my update:  you know how I am doing ten mountains in ten days to raise money for suicide prevention?  Turns out this is really ####### difficult.  Like, my friends who are much bigger badasses are saying, "Yeah, I saw that and wondered what you were thinking."  It's hard to hike/climb one every day.  And then there's the driving.  Not quite typical day Sunday: got up at 4 am, drove 2.5 hours, hiked for 8 hours, drove for 2.5 hours home, wanted to die.  It's completely exhausting.

Halfway through! :hot:

My brother went home last night after a week in the hospital. He has some lifestyle changes to make, but I am hopeful that we can channel his innate stubbornness in a positive direction.

FIL was admitted to the hospital last night.  just booked the wife on a flight today :mellow:   hopefully, he doesn't die.  if he's lucid, lawyers will be procured.  and whatever he wants to do, will be recorded by said lawyer.  

do you know any lawyers in greensboro, nc?  i already texted IB, but it's an old number.

gonna be a rough week.

Sorry to get back to you so late.  Hope your F-I-L pulls through.  Hope one of the two guys I recommended can help out in the meantime.

 
FIL is in ICU. wife has flown across the country to be with him. Sane brother is currently flying from Maui.  Had a non sensical conversation with oldest, addict brother today. Mumbled something about a hematoma and took credit for saving his dad. First time I’ve spoken with him in 2 years. Just mind boggling. 

The hardest part is my wife’s emotional pain. She and her dad are really close. It kills me to see and hear her, in so much emotional distress, with no real way to make it better. I really hope her dad pulls through.  It’s gonna be rough when he goes  

Also!  Not sure what goes in my kids lunch. Might just show up at school with pizza.  For that matter, I’m not 100% sure of when school starts. She has something called zero period this year. Good times. :banned:

Good news. Hopefully those needed changes are made. I dread the day that I'm faced with them.

Good luck to the FIL and Mrs Raiders, but it sounds like you might need the most of it while picking up the home slack.

to establish a last will and testament, that essentially leaves everything to the grandchildren and not much to his children.  only sane brother and my family have the grandchildren.  at least that was the FIL's wish as of a few days ago.  we just want to do whatever he wants to do and don't care, one way or the other where the assets end up.  we just want the FIL's wishes carried out.

he's at moses cone.  i'm unsure of his lucidity or his ability to sign.  i have yet to have an actual conversation with my wife.  it's only been texts so far.  sane brother landed an hour or so ago.  thanks for the help chem!

I can get you an attorney contact likely, but I've been in your boat regarding lucidity.  I am a NC notary and you should be aware of the following;

(e) If a principal is physically unable to sign or make a mark on a record presented for

notarization, that principal may designate another person as his or her designee, who shall

be a disinterested party, to sign on the principal’s behalf pursuant to the following

procedure:

(1) The principal directs the designee to sign the record in the presence of the notary

and two witnesses unaffected by the record;

(2) The designee signs the principal’s name in the presence of the principal, the

notary, and the two witnesses;

(3) Both witnesses sign their own names to the record near the principal’s signature;

(4) The notary writes below the principal’s signature: “Signature affixed by designee

in the presence of (names and addresses of principal and witnesses)”; and

(5) The notary notarizes the signature through an acknowledgment, oath or

affirmation, jurat, or verification or proof.

Managed to outlast f'n Tulsa.  <_<

Unfortunately, needed five Captain and diets to get through the second half. Going to be difficult to avoid embarrassing myself with the hot bartender. 

 
Speaking of food, had egg salad on a hot dog bun for lunch today.  Sure, it was a desperation move, but also delicious.
