GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (5 Viewers)

This is how I know something is wrong with me.

I've been shopping at the same CVS for almost 17 years.  There is a woman working there as long as I can remember. She is definitely a little odd, but she is super polite, really takes pride in her job. But she is overly cheerful and "helpful", as in reading my label to tell me all the symptoms my cold medicine is for.

I know she is just trying to help but Everytime I walk in and see her working, my skin crawls and I want to punch her in the head

Can't even escape her in self checkout.....

I'm sorry overly nice CVS lady I want to punch in face, I know you are just trying to help.

Ftr I'm not mean to her but I have internal eyerolls and punching going on

I need a haircut, so I'm going to go around lunchtime today.  The place I go is next to a Jersey Mike's.   What's the best sandwich there?

Their basic Italian or whatever is pretty damn good.  Have had their steak and cheese too.  It’s good but I would recommend the Italian

#13 The Original Italian

Provolone, salami, pepperoni and raised without antibiotics ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo

key question: how's the bread?

Subway sandwich fresh baked bread...sometimes it smells ok, sometimes it smells like vomit. The memory of the latter makes that place a no-go.

I imagine most city people don't need to go to these chains though, right? Should have lots of options

Chains are a last resort for me usually away from home. Life’s too short.

If the KC Super Bowl parade is always going to start off with a police chase ended by a half dozen police cars ramming the car to a halt right in front of thousands of spectators, count me in for more rings for the Chiefs.

Original Italian on white, sub extra cappacuolo for the pepperoni.  Mike's way, heavy on the black pepper, add banana peppers.

Sooo.....not Mike's Way?  Got it.

I  always go with Shuke's Way:  #13 on oregano parm (with the parm drizzled into the shape of a Bearcat's logo), extra oil, extra vinegar, and Twizzler's served in a high-topped Converse All-Star (red and white, preferably).

Sorry in advance for the long story. My family moved into our house 5 years ago. Great neighborhood with young families where everyone knows each other. When we moved in our next door neighbors were going through a divorce. The wife had already moved out.

They had a son and daughter, and while I never met the wife, she was apparently a major alcoholic. Her husband was a workaholic and traveled a lot for work, so he was barely present, but when he was we could hear them all screaming at each other through the walls.  When she was in charge of the kids it was so bad that the kids would live two doors down, in a household that had two sons. My old neighbor’s son became best friends with the younger son two houses down.

While this is all happening the older son two houses down dies in a freak skateboarding accident which sends their household into chaos. They end up getting divorced over it at the same time my next door neighbors are getting divorced.

Once both divorces were finalized and my next door neighbor’s house was sold I start seeing his car two doors down. Turns out they are dating, which their sons both hated.  It ends up ruining their friendship even though I felt it was something they could have united over.

Fast forward to last night. My former next door neighbor’s son ends up stabbing his mom’s boyfriend, then stole his mom’s car, getting in a high speed chase on the freeway with the police, and eventually gave up. His mom’s boyfriend ended up dying in the hospital. The kid (or “man” as the newspaper reported) is 18 and facing murder charges.

I feel sick to my stomach. The boy two doors down was already going down a questionable path, and while I haven’t talked to him and they had grown apart, I’m sure he is going to be burdened with unbearable guilt.  ####. All around ####ed up situation that happened to people that outside of the family drama were really nice people. I’m hoping it was self-defense because I don’t want to believe that boy is a cold-blooded murderer. We’ll see.
