I don't hate the Foo Fighters but I definitely don't understand the lionization. I'd see them, sure...but she'll out too dollar? Who do they think they are, The Outfield?

Meh....not a fan of Widmer or Red Hook offerings. In fact, I'd put Drop Top Amber on my top 5 least favorite popular craft beers. Their brewpub in Portland is awful. But, no denying their sales and popularity. Redhook ESB is passable; at least they don't price gouge. Kona is horrendous. There might be a gluten free option in there too and #### that in general... I lump gluten free idiots up there with anti vaccine morons.
But they sell the #### out of beer...mjust think the market is too saturated and Busch et al will cannibalize them (see 10 Barrell...a great beer)

Hey GB, thanks for asking. Last night was the first night at home with one twin here. The other is in the NICU in great hands, but might be released tomorrow. Will be great having everyone here and be done shuffling back and forth to the hospital.

Hazel's birthday was yesterday so we had family and a few friends over for dinner. She's 3 and is a little confused at all the changes, but she's also precious to watch with her new brother. My wife is going to spend some time 1-1 with her today to help her with the transition. I did that the other night and it helped take my mind off the trauma from the delivery (seeing your newborn purple and not breathing with a team of concerned doctors and nurses working with machines all around him isn't something I'd recommend) and hopefully was good for her too.

Cooper could have 15 siblings and be unaffected. He's the easiest kid in the world. He's also busy with his social life. We moved in July 10 and he has yet to sleep in his new bed (though he was at camp for a few days).

Kellen is like most of you... He thinks I'm an idiot and is ready for college.

I like how a few of you were #######s and drove away several people from posting at all by questioning how interesting their posts were, but this is what we get instead. Plus a page 2 bump every day or so.
It's not the halcyon days of 2011 nor the raucous era of Coshole 2013...hell it's not even the dull days of 2014 that I think we'd all welcome back with glee. Truth is that this is a sequel - a forced sequel - but a sequel nonetheless and outside of Empire Strikes Back and Godfather II, seqeuels are never as good.

All that said, here we are, page two saves and lackluster content be damned. From where I sit, we're one big dysfunctional family and I consider you part of it K4, even though you have been gone. Hell I even consider Abe part of it. Even that fruitloop from Canada has a seat at our table and we used to hate each other with violent threats. Families fight, families go through changes, but my hope is that this family can put aside its differences, let bygones be bye bye gones and just keep the tradition alive, like the Masters, singing Sweet Caroline in the 7th at Wrigley or drinking a rapey dickmitten or two at lunch.

In the words of Martin Luther King Junior: "Can't we all just get the #### along, naggers?"

Thanks GB. Somebody gave me this as a stock "tip". 2% Operating margin, no thanks. Was just curious about your POV.

I agree with the sentiment, all but the "forced sequel" part. The original thread had already calmed down (or got less exciting, if that's how you want to look at it). This thread is a lot closer to how the later original was than the later original was from the early original. I don't think the board change was any kind of line in the sand.

That seems natural to me. People got to know each other and started to short-hand it, instead of sending in shock troops. Hell, I'm a relative latecomer and there's very little someone here could post that would shock me just by having the balls to do so (as opposed to the content of the post being something crazy happening to someone I now care about).

I think the recent posts about school reunions dovetail nicely into this. It's the difference between seeing someone you grew up with after 20 or 30 years and wondering "holy crap - he's a cop; he sold more dope in school than anyone?" and living next door to him since HS.

You guys want content?

My right eyelid is all swollen and I look like Sloth from Goonies. Went to the Optometrist who is quite fetching in person. I have 2 styes (sp?) and its swollen to hell. I then went over to Bob Evans with Tiffany and had some biscuits and gravy.

DaR, what time of year are you thinking for your East Coast trip?
next month
The Outer Banks is the big destination, of course. Problem there (like many of the East Coast beach destinations) is that there are no major airports close by, so you'll either have to rent a car and drive a few hours or take a puddle jumper to get closer. One other potential problem is finding what you want on short notice.

Virginia Beach is a good family destination, too, as is Ocean City, MD. But both are reaily busy this time of year.

What kind of stuff are you guys wanting to do? Do you like the more commercialized places with tons of things to do or a more relaxed place to chill?
If you are in the Raleigh area the easiest is Emerald Isle area...40 straight down...From Charlotte probably a little farther south (north myrtle). Anything farther south than north myrtle is a trek from NC.

Really depends where you are starting from and how much activities you want.

Getting to the Outer Banks from Raliegh is a trek.
somewhere to just chill i'll hav a car and will be starting from greensboro

I don't think any of us is ready for college, FWiw
I'd like to go back and never leave...even if that means going back to Millsaps.
Still not sure why you went to a school for the blind.
You know what's always grinded my gears? In the lyrics to Ronnie Millsap's "Stranger In My House" he says something about " there's somebody here that I can't see", etc. I have always, even at age 10-11 or whatever I was when that song came out, said to myself "Well....yeah. You're effing blind."

Heard it again in passing a week or two ago and had the exact same thought. There is always someone there that you can't see, Ronnie. ALWAYS.

There are a lot of nice Inns in the piedmont area, but weather may be too hot. When I've visited it was very chill. Kind of like a discounted Berkshires.

Long Hammer is good for the $
Just bought a 4-pack of 16 oz cans for $5.89....that's pretty good. Many dork beers go for $9.99

Either Virginia beach or Emerald Isle/Wilmington are then both are 4 hours or so from there. Anything else is 5+

I'm probably out for impromptu cornhole. I couldn't get there till too late to drink as little as I'd be able to have to still drive home. Where are you going to be though just in case?

There's a giant pickup parked in the lot for one of the other complexes near my condo with gigantic Coors beer flag mounted on the tailgate. Shocking, I know.
Saw two different trucks on the highway yesterday flying both a Confederate flag and a Come and Take It flag. Because, Texas.
Confederate = loser, traitor Come and Take It = heroic winner
But those are the same guys. Pretty sure the honkeys that fought at the Battle of Gonzales did it to protect their slavery rights.

This is probably way too far (maybe 6 hours) for only 3 days and you coming out of Greensboro, but Chincoteague/Assateague is a relaxing combination that's a little off the beaten path.

Hey GB, how's life with the twins? How are the other kids handling the transition? Especially Hazel. I'm sure that this is quite the change for her.
Hey GB, thanks for asking. Last night was the first night at home with one twin here. The other is in the NICU in great hands, but might be released tomorrow. Will be great having everyone here and be done shuffling back and forth to the hospital.

My wife is going to spend some time 1-1 with her today to help her with the transition. Cooper could have 15 siblings and be unaffected. He's the easiest kid in the world. He's also busy with his social life. We moved in July 10 and he has yet to sleep in his new bed (though he was at camp for a few days).

Glad thing are good, GB.

You poor *******.
