GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (4 Viewers)

K4, have you told your brother he's a ####. And why he's a ####? Is he oblivious or indifferent?
I suspect he's more oblivious than indifferent to being a #### in general, but when it comes to the way he's treated my dad, my grandparents, his ex-wife, other family, and most of all my stepmother ( :hey: RedmondLonghorn), I'd suspect he has to know he's a ####. What's weird is that while he can be really awful to most everyone, he is a middle-school teacher ( :hey: Tanner) and from all appearances a phenomenal teacher who cares about his students. I guess every ounce of kindness, empathy, selflessness he has, which is about two ounces ( :hey: Woz) is poured into that and into his own kid, who shockingly has turned out to be a great kid despite his parents.

I've never talked to him about any of it. Part of the reason is altruistic--until the last few years, while he was a #### to everyone else he was still tight with my mom and seemed decent to her, and I had no desire to make anything difficult for her, put her in the middle, etc. It seemed like she was the only one who didn't realize he was a #### and it was OK with me for her to continue to think that. The second reason, I'd probably have to admit, is just that we're of typical German stock and don't show a lot of emotion, so my tendency is just to shut off and ignore rather than to confront.

Thanks to you guys for listening, so to speak, and sending your good vibes.

GM, this is generally the time of year when we discuss getting together for a Ducks game, though later something arises that nixes the plan. I realize you're busy with all the kids in the world, but we should get on this annual fake-out ritual if we're going to do it up right.
How about this: I give you a pair of tickets to the Cal/Oregon game November 7th. You guys come down Friday, we host you for dinner. You and OH take the tickets for the game the next day. We watch NFL football on Sunday at a sports bar together. You head back home after. ????? Profit.

Also, if you want to take the train or even the Bolt Bus (big fan), I can pick you up and you can borrow my car to go down to the game on Saturday. I might have another pair of tickets available to you if you can't make Nov. 7th...let me know!
That whole idea sounds like so much fun. IN! Where is a good place for us to stay? (No camping.)
You realize there are twin GM infants there, right?
TWINS!

And on that note, here's an old gemstone from the past:

"I didn't see what was deleted but that is weak Cause Kid C on just about any level. That said punk, quit tossing around the F@$ slur. Holy unnecesary and such better insults. You can but do you wanna start throwing N bombsbecuase you can? Prety ofensive IMO and I know many others here who feel the same way. Do you know where that word comes from? "

And another for Chemx:

"OK, I'm just wondering-- Byron & I run a pretty tight ship here at RotoJunkie-- but what the hell do you have to get banned from the scorched earth of FootBallGuys' boards? Kill someone's mother?"

and

"Ok, I just cleaned out the unmitigated s***heads on this thread. I hope I'm there to laugh at each of you next time you get down.

If you have a problem with it, respond in email."

K4, I almost tagged you when I posted this on FB
Had already "liked" and replied, I think...or at least I was close in time to it. ;)

ETA: A washed out trail is the best trail. Keep the rabble out.

Don't forget the duct tape, rubber gloves, and trash bags.

Anyhow...I think K4 should get a private jet.

Two more weeks and my wife's ENTIRE family (except her cool little brother who's my good buddy) will be staying in our house for several days. This means I can't go to Sunriver with my older sons, my BIL and my nephews and my landscaper Sosa. :hot:

Is Sosa the dad of the kid we talked about?

Why are they staying at your house? Are they somehow unaware of your Jim-Bob Duggar starter kit?

Yup. His son is back in Mexico to chase the girl of his 18 year old dreams. I begged and pleaded with him to wait on that, but the heart wants what the heart wants. His dad is pretty upset over it. Figured a trip to Sunriver would do him some good.

That's how they roll. When I had a little 2BR townhouse, they all crashed there, sleeping on couches and air mattresses. Now that I actually have room (despite not having everything fully furnished yet) there's no reason to make them get a place to stay. They're family is scary close.

Oh, and they WANT to be around the twins. Freaks.

I was reading this article on shark attacks today...

Most attacks take place in shark havens such as 1. Hawaii and the 2. Caribbean, as well as 3.Australia and 4.South Africa. Last week, a surfer competing in an event in South Africa fought off a shark that attacked him on live TV. Surfers and other board-sport enthusiasts suffer about 60 percent of attacks, because sharks frequent the surf zone, where the warm waters provide a rich menu of fish. How do you avoid shark attacks?
First, remember you're in the sharks' house — at a huge disadvantage. Sharks have a "sixth sense": Through tiny pores peppering their snouts, they detect when electrical fields are even slightly disturbed by a heartbeat or muscle twitch. With that in mind, here are some helpful hints: 5. Don't swim after twilight, which is feeding time, or with an 6. open wound — some sharks can smell a drop of blood 3 miles away. 7. Try to stay in groups, because sharks tend to target lone individuals. Don't stray too far from shore, and be wary of 8. sandbars or 9. steep drop-offs, both shark hangouts. 10. Never wear shiny jewelry, which sharks sometimes mistake for shimmering fish scales.

Anybody else shocked I haven't been attacked by a shark? Of course I was bitten by a black tip shark as a kid while on a fishing excursion. :bag:

I "discovered" a quick and tasty treat last night. tortilla+pepperonii+mozzarella Microwave to melt cheese roll and eat. Fast, delicious and 10x better than that Papa Johns crap my boys like.

My go to is a quesadilla with a fresh TorillaLand tortilla, mozzarella, pepperoni, and shaved parmesan. Gotta grill that tortilla.
