Ms. Berg, who teaches 7th and 8th grade deaf students in Bakersfield, CA wants me to like and share her photo on the facebooks.

Friend of yours, Blam?

Art values are driven by the lazy trust fund babies who did not earn their wealth.

Discuss.
Why?
I don't want to discuss, but given the upper east side "art consultant" clients we have whoe basically meet their uber rich friends for lunch and look at galleries.... I agree
So, you do want to discuss.
no.

but dammit, these women are idiots... and mostly married to #######s. and they're dictating, at a smaller level, what gets bought and sold in the art-world. like F is for fart. They take their art history degrees from vassar and figure- why not. and the husbands figure- why not- keeps 'em occupied and I get a tax break from their losses. and then they collectively nickel and dime every design and construction move because- why not- hubby is in finance and every penny squeezed from a tradesman living in a walkup in yonkers is fun. a fun game. and the best way to win is to bankrupt lower middle class working folk.

(that was a relatively not heartfelt rant to play up "not discussing"... my main client hubby is a decent young guy- a lawyer even, so not that rich- but married to the daughter of a hedgefund giant who fits the description above to a T... like F for fart, but T).
We can say "tart" here.

 for Floppo's Tales of Manhattan Class Warfare
I'm often struck by how very different our lives are. I mean, Floppo and Bobby Layne live one kind of life, while Homer is building a fort out of beer cans and pizza boxes. Bob is spreading death throughout the Midwest, while Roverfish is hip-deep in hot and cold running tail. And GM is herding cats. Or kids. Same thing.
Yeah this thread in particular is very civil and interesting considering the differences.

Craps with trust fund babies in A-city was much fun because they were partying and didn't give a damn how they lost/spent their money. Blackjack not so much the same reasons. We spent surprisingly little time discussing art.

Drop off number 3 about to happen. Daughter to Philly last week. I was never so petrified to leave her anywhere. Never been to Philly. Drove thru some "nice" neighborhoods to get to Target and every card declined cause we forgot to tell them we would be there. Fun. Temple campus is beautiful and made me feel much better leaving her there. Thought I'd be more emotional but surprisingly I was ok.

Leaving for Tampa in a half hour. Son is actually kinda nervous. Didnt expect that as he is very outgoing. He should do fine once he is there. Empty nest here we come. Time is flying by right before my eyes.

since having kids, I have turned into a sentimental, emotional idiot.

I got a little teary reading that. gll to you and the kids.

Kinda got foggy in here writing it too. I felt very hot and my wife and son looked at me and started laughing as I had sweat all over my face. Quickly turned a sad moment into a funny one.

Yea I'm probably not going watch any of that. Sounds so terrible.
to be fair to the thread- his twitter feed got posted... with some innocuous posts complaining about reporter being racist and cameraman reporting him to HR. seemed to paint a picture... but then the guy uploaded the actual POV shooting video- so all of us were caught unaware that that was going to be there.

cant. unsee. so ####### horrible.

Boss just told us the story about some company called Honest Tea that set up large displays of their bottled tea in 27 cities, which asked passersby to take a tea and leave a dollar using the old tried and true honor system. This experiment was monitored by hidden cameras. Apparently Atlanta was the most honest city in America, with 100% of their people leaving a dollar. Providence checked in at the low range of 83%.

Then he asked us this - $5 for the person who got it right. What physical characteristic appeared the most for people who did NOT leave a dollar? Anyone? I nailed it and will be using his $5 for a beer after work. :bowtie:

my google search results seems to contradict these claims.

EDIT: nm. I guess they updated the numbers since the original study.

Although he didn't say they were all white. Could have been any bald man. Or woman. :oldunsure:

Rocking a Padres hat, forward facing these days.
Weird. I don't think I can name one Padres fan that I know. I know plenty of Dodgers, Giants, Angels, and even A's fans but I honestly don't know any SD fans.
I got it free for coaching Little League a few years back. Even I don't root for them. Dark blue is one of the only colors I can actually wear without looking completely terrible and even then, we're just talking mild mitigation.

Was walking home from work and saw a woman wearing sunglasses standing on the corner with a cane (the red and white with the ball at the end kind). I asked her if she would like me to bring/direct her somewhere. She asks me where something is and I say so. She then turns around and says, "oh that way, right?" Woman could see after all. She had on a great disguise I must say.

And then there's this gem from Alabama....this story has everything for everybody in this thread: Young cheerleaders, hillbillies, offensive t-shirts and people who spell their names funny.

5 days and nights in the NICU for one kid. Anybody want to guess the amount billed?
$50K? Maybe more since TWINS!

for reference we just got out insurance renewal info and it has having a baby as an example and said total costs around $7.5K with $1600 out of pocket

Yeah maybe rude is closer with $100K
$49,011.43. For one of the twins. That was the amount billed to insurance. Also, the same amount showing up as "Amount Not Allowed".

The doctor bill for this same stay was just $11,902.00.

Neat.
My Grandmother died Monday morning and my Aunt died this morning. Funny how sometimes you feel like you are prepared for this kind of thing and then find out you're not. You're not at all. Seriously feel like puking right now. Wish we were closer GB so we could drown our sorrows together.
