GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (13 Viewers)

He's a moron.
Seriously. Do you not understand that I'll make an extra $40-50 dollar and the company will make an "extra"  $70-80?   Of course he must know this customer better than me.  After all he's been with the company about eight months and I've only been selling to these people for 20+ years.

Your manager is a moron. People aren't sensitive to high prices at all.  They are sensitive to paying more than the perceived value.   I could rant about this for days.
Yep.  Too many sales people leave money on the table all the time because they're lazy or scared the customer is going to question them on price and they don't have the guts or skills to justify it.

Heading down to Dallas this Wed>Sat. I have a cursory knowledge of the town but it's limited.

Staying up near Richardson. Mostly looking for #### to get into Thursday & Friday. Interests Good BBQ, Live Music, Dive Bars, other Fun #### to do.

For Richardson Ten50 BBQ is probably your best bet. I like it but I'm not a huge BBQ snob like Disco Stu. I'm sure him or Bogart could recommend better places, but they probably won't be as close by.

If you're in to old school arcade games there's a dive type of place called Freeplay Arcade in Richardson. $10 cover for unlimited games. Obviously not a place for bottom, but they have a decent beer selection and a bunch of retro games. There's also a taco joint about a block away open until 3AM called OMG Tacos. Dumb name but tacos are great especially when hammered.

I can't think of too much else in Richardson worth mentioning. It's still very much a suburb town. They have an Alamo Drafthouse now which is a decent spot to catch a movie.

For live music and dive bars Deep Ellum is the best spot IMO. Pecan Lodge is the popular BBQ restaurant down there. GM's recommendation of Lower Greenville isn't bad either. Not as many bars and there isn't really a music scene there any longer, but a lot of really great restaurants.

If you just want to ogle young good hots stumble around puking on their high heels Uptown is worth checking out I guess. Expensive and full of dbags but that comes with the territory.

Feel free to PM if you have any specific questions.

Got thrown out of a bar in Richardson once because a member of our party spilled beer on the competition foosball table.

I need some clarification here.  If you are rotating your left arm clockwise and right counterclockwise, does that mean they are both going forward/overhand?  Want to make sure I get this right.

Two schools of thought here, Jason,

Technically the 3rd wishee (per the original wording of the joke) asked that his arms "windmill" much like a swimming stroke from the shoulder...one freestyle and one backstroke. Alas, to make your right and left arm rotate, in opposite directions, in such a fashion is very difficult.

Of course you could just rotate your forearms from the elbow, in small circles, like you were working the ropes in double-dutch.  That is much easier to pull off but not as funny.

Perhaps the best bet is to NOT include "clockwise/counterclockwise" in the narration.  Just go with either rotating from the elbows like a white guy trying to disco dance or rotating both arms either freestyle or backstroke.

Is that a challenge?

Dear lord, I might die.

We were supposed to be camping Sun-Tues but due to a last-minute gear failure we had to scratch the camping plan.  But, it was a friend's birthday and she was counting on us, so we said we'd do two day hikes to accompany her a bit so she wouldn't feel bad.  Yesterday we went up about halfway to the campsite, which meant we were five miles up a steep, rocky trail.  The five miles up weren't so bad, but five miles down on the steep rocks were a pain.  Whatever, we said we would meet the today at another spot, which turned out to be 10 miles up a steeper, rockier trail.  In other words, another 20 miles today on the worst knee-killing crap imaginable.  Oh, and I was toting a bottle of liquor that is my friend's favorite, along with birthday cake and my usual pack.

I might very well die, but totally win friend of the month today, though.

Ice House by Katy Trail (is that right?) is a great outdoor spot for bottom watching.  Lotta Park City hotties in short shorts running the trail.

You guys see this?

BAKER LAKE, Wash. — When state Fish and Wildlife agents recently found a black bear passed out on the lawn of Baker Lake Resort, there were some clues scattered nearby — dozens of empty cans of Rainier Beer.

The bear apparently got into campers’ coolers and used his claws and teeth to puncture the cans. And not just any cans.

“He drank the Rainier and wouldn’t drink the Busch beer,” said Lisa Broxson, bookkeeper at the campground and cabins resort east of Mount Baker.
Fish and Wildlife enforcement Sgt. Bill Heinck said the bear did try one can of Busch, but ignored the rest. The beast then consumed about 36 cans of Rainier.
A wildlife agent tried to chase the bear from the campground but the animal just climbed a tree to sleep it off for another four hours. Agents finally herded the bear away, but it returned the next morning.

Agents then used a large, humane trap to capture it for relocation, baiting the trap with the usual: doughnuts, honey and, in this case, two open cans of Rainier.
That did the trick.Insert other media

“This is a new one on me,” Heinck said. “I’ve known them to get into cans, but nothing like this. And it definitely had a preference.”
