OLED tvs.

anyone buy one yet?  thoughts?
Thoughts?  Greatest TV I've even seen.

Haven't bought one because I'm cheap on these things (money better spent on kid's birthday parties...).

Holding out on the 65" 4k to drop but I'm seeing deals nearing $1k for the 55" 1080p that are tempting me.

:goodposting: Best of both plasma and LED. So bright, energy efficient, accurate colors and great black levels.

What a great day.  Dodgers are winning, Kershaw is pitching lights out, and I'm about to go have a 22-year old induce a heart attack.

It's been a run, folks.  I think I'm just going to shut it down after this.

The pizza place we always order from has an app that let's you order online. It's nice because I don't have to talk to a real person or try to deal with getting through on the phones when they're slammed on Friday night. Plus, they give live updates online on when the pizza is ready.

But right now I feel like I'm in that Seinfeld commercial where they rent the car and the rental company runs out of cars. They SAID the pizza was ready to pickup online, but for some reason I've been sitting here for close to 15 minutes waiting for my pizza to be ready.

Ugh…. Still in the hospital with my son and the doctors are puzzled.  All the CT scans, blood work, labs etc look good yet he has no appetite and has intense abdominal pain.  They don’t think it is appendicitis.  They have a colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow to try and come up with a diagnosis.  5 nights sleeping in the hospital is too much.   Really, really hope to get some answers tomorrow.
This happened with my daughter back in HS. It took 3 different GI guys and a slew of tests until one GI took a chance and had the 'eggs" test run. She eats eggs and they watch to see if they digest. They didn't. The diagnosis was Gastroparesis. A slowing of the digestion.

Very rare in a girl her age. Fast forward to now, about 7 years later a recent doctor in Nashville didn't believe it, ran the same test and yep she has it.

Might be worth a shot. Same symptoms your son has even to this day

I liked you a lot more GB when you were miserable.

Here's a recent article from him that might be of interest.  He's always liked the Chase Sapphire Preferred a lot and still does - $0 annual fee for the first year and $95 thereafter.
Thanks!

You're likely not going to do much better than 3% in terms of the value of the miles you get, after you get past the intro rewards.  That guy whose site I linked also does a monthly update of the dollar value of various points/miles, which you might wish to use for comparison.
I forgot to ask her to clarify that.

3% cashback on everything?  What card is that?

Chase Sapphire Preferred is the goto travel card these days. The Reserve version has a hefty fee, but would be worth it if a heavy traveler.
I believe its a Discover card, and I'm not 100% sure on that cash back rate

Thanks GB
You're welcome, GB.  It's what we generally our card of choice.

I have a SW Visa that use for work and get reimbursed for.  Mostly because I'm pretty close to getting a free trip for all of us on them and I like that. :)

Same here on the SW Visa for work. Ran enough through it this year that AngryWife will have a companion pass and fly for free on any trip she takes next year..

Those are the trips I take my second wife on. Looking at Vegas, LA and San Diego again or Destin with the first wife. Second wife will also be on beach trip, but you get the point.

Also helps that I only fly Southwest. Have an event in Burbank the first week of November. Are you there or here on the 4th?

I'm a finalist at a national insurance award event. Who knew such things even existed? Also, surely someone was writing ironically with this bit from the program:

Conveniently located at the fabulous Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel

I've yet to see an airport Marriott that qualified as 'fabulous.'

Burbank is really nice but not really near much.

take her to dinner at Cafe Del Rey, brunch st IVy.

I've got a capital one biz card that gets 2℅ on everything. I only use that  or the new Costco card. I don't have the time and energy to #### with miles, just send me a check

You know what would be a pleasant surprise?  If on the day of my death, at the moment i was supposed to die, i suddenly got back all the minutes i had wasted looking for my wife's keys, purse, other shoe, that thing she just had in her hand, or all the other things i care #### all about while im seated somewhere across the house and she yells for unspecified help.  I could go back and delete my own browser history tyvm.  I might stay alive until they found the cure for that thing that got me.  If i died of violent crime i could tell the police who murdered me, then testify in the trial and appeals court.  Also, her keys were in the pocket of her coat that she put in the trunk of her car and thats why the car would start even though she didnt know where they were.

I recently got the SW Visa. With the bonus, my next three trips to Vegas are on the house.  Might spring for a decent room or something.
