I'm on Metformin, how is that stuff?

The stuff I'm on is a combo of metformin and glyburide. Metformin alone did nothing, glipizide alone did nothing. But this combo makes a comprehensive difference, especially if I eat a high protein, low carb meal. I overshoot to the low side. Diabeetus chat de-activated.

My doc put me on Metformin originally. It had little effect. Then he put me on Glipizide. It had little effect. Then he put me on a combination of Metformin and Glyburide. This combination was originally marketed as Glucovance, but is now also available generically. It seems to work a lot better. Too good, if I'm not careful.

Work update - the current round of musical chairs stopped and I have a new boss who may be crazy. But he's planning to retire in the next couple years and there's a promotion opportunity there that is way beyond what I was expecting.

Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in Depression thread. I'm not even sure what to do right now.

I just found out that on the Disney show "Liv and Maddie" which is about these twin high school sisters, the 2 girls are actually played by one actress. I thought they were twins in real life. I didn't believe it at first but checked it out on the Google and sure enough, it's one actress in a dual role. And she's also 19 in real life, so she's not really even that young. I've kinda had this Homer-like fantasy about a 3-some with them but obviously that's not gonna happen now. Sucks to find this out on a Friday, basically ruins the whole weekend.

Oh man, I am so hungover I had a Steak Egg & Cheese Bagel from MacArnolds this morning. Now I'm back at work and have to get home soon to go ice skating in Chicago with my gf and her sister and sister's bf. "Let's make a day of it and go to some museums and stuff!" they said.

I'm gonna jump off the Brooklyn Bridge today.

They moved it to Chicago? Man, I need to pay closer attention to the news.

Y'know what sucks? Not knowing if you're going to have a job in another 3 months. Found out yesterday that my company has been misrepresenting sales figures for at least 6 months(which probably means they've been doing it for a year or longer). Giant round of layoffs and a second round likely in the offing before Summer. Rock. On.

Time to dust off the resume, it appears.

But I was texting with one of my male cousins earlier and he pointed out:

There are 14 of us (first cousins).

Of those 14 there are 10 divorces (one greedy broad has 3 of her own).

There are only 6 of us that have only been married once and still married (including my sister who is a widow).

We have a big family reunion coming up this summer. He said we should pose for a group photo holding up one finger.

Oh, and my wife and I are the couple that has been married the longest. And I'm nowhere near close to the oldest in age. I have 9 older cousins.

Nah, don't think I ever have. We live in Calabasas, along the western edge of Los Angeles County and the SF Valley just north of the mountains if you're not familiar. My office is on the Westside, not too bad of a commute.
