GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (14 Viewers)

Speaking of Homer - I thought of him all weekend. I spent a 4 day cruise (save the comments, not my choice) with my niece's dance troupe/company. Girls age 12-18.

Some of the older gals looked way older :oldunsure:

#### is about to get serious at work. I'm working 12-18 hour days every day and this bull#### just isn't going to happen anymore. Particularly since other people there asking me to do stuff don't know WTF is going on. I might, reluctantly, have to take things over. At the very least a serious talk is going to happen with some people.

Oh yeah have I mentioned we've been without e-mail all weekend until this afternoon thanks to a hack? (Not urbanhack, that dude rules, this hack sucks donkeydicks)

I've also gained 9 pounds because I haven't had time to even walk most days and I'm eating crap on the run. I had a salad today for lunch, even though I could have had a free sandwich at yet another meeting, and it ruled.

I'm off to enjoy my 1 hour a day of relaxation before passing out from exhaustion. :bye:

Jimtan friends,

I'm not an adorable kid raising money for a good cause, but I am hitting you up for money. Despite not actually owning a bike and not having ridden more than 15 miles at a time in more than a decade, I'm riding in the MS 150 bike ride from Houston to Austin in three weeks. My fundraising page is here.

http://main.nationalmssociety.org/site/TR/Bike/TXHBikeEvents?px=13842064&pg=personal&fr_id=25298

For $100 in GMTAN donations, I'll shotgun a beer and video it as soon as I get to La Grange, which is the stopping point for the first day. I'll be exhausted and in a taint crushing amount of pain, so it should be good. I'm also willing to take script suggestions.

Thank you for your support. YIC.

I know we did such a good job helping with little Frosty daughters fundraiser I'm hoping you can all help with mine. it's the same Jump Rope For Heart fundraiser, link below

you can also see a picture of my kid riding the Everest ride at Disney

Hopefully we can help him raise some money for a good cause and win a duck trophy that he can tell me about every day

oh and it would be cool to #beatfrosty

Final bump. Up to $210. Not quite Frosty level but they gave him 3 ducks yesterday and he was super excited and yelling "it's because my dad posts on the Internet"

Thanks to all who have donated so far

Was there a paypal option? I feel like there was, but I missed it and I'm far too lazy.

So tomorrow night I get the pleasure of going to Boy Scouts of America Outdoor Leadership Training. This will entail me spending roughly 24 hours camping with a bunch of grown men probable weirdos and receiving instruction on doing Boy Scout things, so that we may give instruction on same to the kids in our troop.

I am a reluctant participant in all this. While I think a lot of what the BSA emphasizes is great stuff, there is also a lot of it that I am not cool with (e.g. the religious underpinnings, anti-gay stance, etc.). But both of my step-sons are involved in the troop and there aren't enough parent volunteers. About half of the troop is made up of Chinese or Chinese-American scouts and their parents seem neither very outdoorsy nor very confident with the English language. The former Scout-master had to resign because of allegations of child molestation not related to the Boy Scouts. I actually suspect he is innocent, based on some oddities about the accusations, but clearly he can't be involved with the troop any more. So they need help and I volunteered.

Now I kind of wish I hadn't. I don't know much about camping, so I might actually learn something on this trip, but it is March in Washington and it is probably going to be rainy and wet out in the woods. And one of the other two guys from our troop that is going on this training (he is actually the new Scoutmaster) is the weirdest, Aspbergers-y MFer I have ever met. If it turns out down the line that he is a serial killer, I won't be the least bit surprised.

So this is going to be interesting. And probably tedious too.

I was trying to be less pessimistic/realistic than I usually am. But thanks for the reality check.

You still doing the Wall Street thing?
