Somebody sent an office wide email to see if anyone wants to go see the new Terminator movie on Wednesday.

Now people are replying all with reasons that can't go

Any good shtick responses I should go with?

As if the constant rain isn't enough, now we have tornadoes too. Had to go in the basement twice last night. If you check your notebooks, I really hate tornadoes.
My mom just called. She's having trouble with her laptop. It's probably loaded with malware/toolbars/demons. This happens about 4 times a year. She and my 7 year old great nephew are the only ones that use it. She swears "I don't download anything and I watch (nephew) carefully!" Yeah there is no way a 79 year old woman or 7 year old kid would do anything that might compromise a computer.

Now I have to go over there and fix it.

I'll trade you.
:lmao: Yeah, Cal gets ton of malware but swears he isn't downloading anything.
I'm running a malware bytes scan now. Nothing is coming up. This is not good news because I know there is something slowing it down.
Did you run RKILL first? That is $$$$

1 wk of vacation in central Oregon, weather was perfect and hot for this time of year. Kids favorite thing was floating the river (deschutes) on paddle board, kayak and rafts. We caught a bunch of trout including my first ever lake trout which was delicious. Now I have to go back to work to rest.
Where did you guys base out of? I got my sons inflatable kayaks for xmas and would like to unleash them this summer. Also, any lakes that aren't too far away you can recommend? Pass on Hagg Lake. We really enjoyed Boulder Lake a few years back....but hoping for something closer and not overly crowded (ha ha!). Can always hit Lost Lake or Trilium but they get overly packed.
GM Elk Lake and Cultus Lake are both within @ 45 minutes of SR. For my money you can't beat Cultus for beauty, cold clean water, and not being crazy crowded.

Malwarebytes is pretty decent too.

Turns out there was some stupid arcade gaming app (chrome) that was hijacking stuff. Think I got it cleaned up.

I know I usually just come here to either just "gadfly" or to b@tch, but figured I would balance that out with some actual good news: Within the last 72 hours I've received promising intel about my LLC side business, found approved renters for my house, and found out that I may get to stop and visit a couple friends on my way West that I wasn't anticipating being able to get to do. Not a bad weekend.

Now, if I could just get my bride to stop stressing out.....but I'll take the good with the bad at this point.

We went tubing at Cultus, and its fantastic. We also caught a 5lb lake trout there. I wouldn't recommend that lake for kayaking though, its mostly powerboats and jet skis.

if you want to kayak near Sunriver on the Deschutes., either drop off at the Harpers Bridge just outside of Sunriver and then float 2 hrs down to the Sunriver Marina, or start at the Marina and pull out at the final dropoff point before you get to Benham Falls, the Sunriver shuttle van will take you back to the marina for a small fee. If you want to go kayak at a lake, Lava Lake offers no wake zones and great trout fishing, also Sparks Lake is crystal clear and beautiful.

if you want a lake thats closer to Portland, try Pine Hollow Reservoir in Wamic.

A few of us kayaked/floated from the marina to the backyard of one of the rental houses my cousin was renting. Very laid back.

Got a letter from the Feds today that the theft of Mrs. SLB identity has been cleared up. I'm SHOCKED by how fast they were to do it. Pretty happy about this. They owe me money.
