GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (10 Viewers)

P and S - are people really stunned by this stuff?  I figure about a third of the powerful men I have worked for or with were guilty of this sort of thing.
I don't know if stunned is the right word.  I just appreciated the candor and viewpoint from somebody I know and trust.  It also sheds some light as to why many women do not come forward at the time or at all, which was the objection raised by CJ initially.

Absolutely.  Good point.

What else do you have in there?
Personal narratives, reflections on life (mistakes made, things I'd do differently, things I wish for them).  How to handicap horses, stuff about drugs, why it's important to learn how to catch and throw a baseball.  How to change adult diapers.

And yes, do not, under any circumstance, have twins.

Krista's post/experience makes me sad, just like the Republican women screech owls who are defending Trump by saying that "boys will be boys" and "all men do it" make me sad.

That's a load of garbage. Just like the idea that Trump says stuff like that all the time, but it's all just talk and he has never been physically inappropriate.

It pisses me off to no end to have people saying that I am a dirt bag and do dirt bag stuff like that because " all guys do". :bs: If that's their experience, then I feel incredibly sorry for those women and hope that they do something to change the circles they run in and that the guys that are in their lives end up in jail where they belong.

(Re-reading this before posting, it may seem like I'm equating Krista to the Republican screech owls and that's certainly not my intent. Krista's experience makes me sad that there are so many guys that seem to think it's ok. Those other women make me sad that they also think it's ok and pissed that they have the balls to claim that I act that way too).

hey gym tanners... I made a thread for this, but since most of you don't leave the thread I figured I'd bring the mountain to you.

former school-mate and co-worker, brilliant industrial designer and all-around great guy/friend is up for an award at Interior Design magazine for one of his designs (light fixture)- a pretty big deal.

please help out and vote for him here. no registration needed.

also just noticed that these are the boyawards. from interior design magazine.

When are the girlawards?

You can't teach stupid.
I only realized recently the average IQ just about everywhere in the US is around 100.  Made me feel a little guilty for using the phrase "double digit IQ" in a derogatory manner as there's a good chance I've said it to one of them directly in my life.

I can only do it on a desk-top... select both posts and a "quote this" button pops up. click on that and voyla.

but usually there are a bunch of old quotes that are gumming up the joint. NICE UPDATE

eta: I have to scroll over both posts- from upper left to lower right... BUT DON'T GO FROM LOWER RIGHT TO UPPER LEFT OR INCLUDE THE AVATAR OR YOU'RE ####ED

Yeah super easy to do on mobile

you guys are doing the multi-quote... yeah... even morons

can do that.

GM, I'm assuming, is asking about the high-functioning quoting of more than one thing in the same quote... like how we used to do things in the halcyon salad days of 2015.

yeah.  explain it to me like I'm GM trying to use a condom.

I remember once when my dad gave me money to pay the electricity bill but instead I bought a lottery ticket for a brand new car. When I got home, I explained to my dad what I did and he beat the crap out of me. But the next day when my dad woke up and opened the door, outside my house was a brand new car. We all cried, especially me, because the car was from the electricity company.  They were there to cut off the electricity, my dad beat the crap out of me again.

This is a good story to remember in times like this.

times like when people woo and hug and profoundly disappoint certain sectors of the community?

I started getting annoyed that people, 2 episodes into Westworld, were completely oblivious to what was happening on their screens.

but that's on me.
that happens in every TV thread.  it seems that an inordinate number of people on this site are incapable of following dialog, understanding non-linear events, or the concept of foreshadowing (or even the structure of storytelling).

for some reason- other tv threads, I just assume it's going to happen. I have no problem rolling with the TWD, GoT or even Lost threads. don't know why I thought it would be otherwise here- with a fresh start and pretty clearly stated exposition in ep 1.

My wife is kinda like this. She pays attention pretty well but the non-verbal indications, and really any historic references not painstakingly explained, are pretty lost on her.

Peaky Blinders and The Americans require a decent amount of pausing and explaining.

And they get really pissed when you make fun of them for it.

Dolt:  Why would that one bald cop pretty much legalize drugs in that Hamsterdam place?  Aren't cops supposed to hate drugs?

Me:  How come that actor keeps saying "McNutty"?  Why doesn't the director tell him it's "McNulty?"

Chorus of Dolts:  YOU'RE RUINING THIS THREAD!

I'm pretty terrible to watch TV and movies with. My hearing is waning so of we don't subtitle, I'm pausing and going back.  And, yeah, non verbal clues and complex plots require a little help at times from another unfortunate viewer.

In other news, it's raining in Portland, the sun rises in the east and the Cleveland Browns still suck.
