Was supposed to fly out of FLL today.  Flight was at 4:45.  Was just getting ready to leave my wife's cousin's house when the news broke of today's shooting.  My mom called in a panic to find out where my wife and i were. Scary stuff.

Glad to hear you're OK.   Sorry to hear you're still in the same state as MoP.

Glad you and your wife are OK, Stoneys.
Thanks.  I think the hardest part will be going to the airport on Sunday.  As soon as my mom called us to find out if we were ok, I called to reschedule our flight, couldn't get anything until Sunday.  But we are at her cousin's place so we will be good.  But just going there, and hopefully our terminal will be open as it wasn't the same one as the shooting, is just going to be surreal.  I can only imagine what the security is going to be like.

Yeah, this is one of those very good PSAs for parents of young children.  Hazel had two of them.  Eyes rolling back in her head, shaking uncontrollably, no response....not what any parent wants to ever see.  But, they are quite common and although terrifying, it's the brain's way of dealing with the high temp spike.  Pleased to report Hazel hasn't had another one of these in almost two years.  Chances are good this will be the only one of these for 'Lil BFred.

Did your in-laws take him to the ER?

My.mother in law called an ambulance and went in with him. My wife and I each got there separately, a few minutes after she did. He looked like a smaller version of himself. Too fatigued to be scared. Not able to communicate at all.  Eyes partway open while he drifted in and out of sleep. It was a scary scene.  My wife and her mother were terrified.

But I also remembered that you'd been through this, and that it was every bit as scary, and that things were ok afterwards even if not right away. That helped a lot. Thank you.
Jesus.  Can't wait for that.

Glad the little guy is okay.

Got the staples out of my head today.

He went in through the same place the last guy did, so I figured the scar would be similar. Not so. I now have a huge divot in my head. It's a good thing I gave up on being pretty a long time ago.
Glad you still have a skull to divot. Or something.
