Taking him to Paris "on business."  Asking him to plan out a rendevous to "a cool bar or something."  

Dan needs to make sure he waxes and shaves his legs before the trip.  He's absolutely gonna see action.

 
Ile St Louis has a pretty cool cafe with gelato. Saint Regis, i think. right by Notre Dame. kind of a cool stretch of the city if  nothing else.

I really tried to go last time I was there but couldn't make it work.

i think we were near Montmartre. all that i recall is we had wandered from a really busy area (because we decided not to take trains or cabs anywhere :wall: ), turned down a street and pretty quickly realizing that it was more or less completely empty for as far as i could see... struck me as kind of odd.  

like a scene from a bad TV police show where two gals are out having a great time in Manhattan, the music is some ####ty happy rock, glitzy neon everywhere, then they turn a corner, the music turns dark, the street is totally black, one girl shrieks and cut to commercial.

it was dusk'ish. we walked a block or so down the road and scantily clad ladies of the night started materializing from all over the place.

friends moved to what sounds like a cool neighborhood... but no idea/memory which arrondeezenuts.

been a few years since I've been... but I've always loved the Picasso museum for the art, but more for the building. very cool design. not really part of the main-stream typical paris tour... I don't think. speaking of that- furl's isle st louis is pretty, but also pretty touristy. last time I went, I went jogging regularly along the seine... lots of ... er... sex acts noticed down on the banks.

we stayed in an apartment on the island and aside from early mornings and late nights, we weren't there at all.  could have been wall to wall people all day long and i would have never known.

aside from the inexplicably loud garbage collection EVERY FREAKING MORNING AROUND 6 AM it felt sleepy and quiet.

oh nice- I'd imagine that's a great place to do the apartment thing... other than probably paying a little premium for boulangerie and other stuff.

last time, we did an apartment near l'opera, which is more of a business neighborhood. kinda central, but nowhere near as pretty as where you were. lots of spots for lunch, but hard to find a typical neighborhood place for morning coffee and pastries.

have dinner here  really good food and not astronomically expensive.  get the prefix menu

 
Had a meeting this morning with a neurosurgeon, his assistant, and the big bad auditor who found lots of problems with our work. :oldunsure:

She actually turned out to be really nice. Although there was some initial wailing and gnashing of teeth, after an hour I think we're all pulling on the same rope.

So with the free shipping on orders of $75 I took the recommendations from you and Dave.  I cure my own bacon ,so I skipped that went with 

duck prosciutto

nduje

smoked duck, pear and port sausage

capocollo di dorman

I'm gonna park my arteries by the mailbox waiting for this stuff.

Awesome - you're gonna love it!!!  Report back!  Maybe some pics. 

I can't remember whether the duck prosciutto came pre-sliced or not ...like regular prosciutto, it needs to be shaved.  

 
Love when he goes into the bushes and the reporter realizes what he is doing.

Also love that some woman just let him take a bath with her.
