GM's Thread About Everything/GM's Thread About Nothing (21 Viewers)

I just sweetened my standard pizza crust recipe with a little honey. I have a few strawberries and blueberries, an apple and a hunk of watermelon here. Let's make pizza. Living  alone is going to be interesting for my diet.

As Janis Joplin used to say, "Beaumont's the ###hole of the universe and Port Arthur is 15 miles up"
On a somewhat related note, I once counted the number of Waffle Houses on I-10 between Houston and New Orleans.

I recall that it beat my estimated over/under by about 200%.

So I looked at a bunch of agent profiles and called the hottest one. If someone is going to lead me by the nose for a couple days it may as well be enjoyable, right? Well, she lied to me.

are the painters able to get any work done yet? or waiting on the other trades to clear out?
The painters had a gap in their schedule and came in and painted everywhere that was ready for them, which was most of the house. There were some areas that weren't quite ready for paint because of dry wall patches or skim coating that needed to be sanded. Wife 2.0 and I are doing some painting ourselves on weekends and evenings. I painted in college, so I am decent at it (though far from a pro).
Speaking as a painter, it is my opinion, that it is very risky to allow gaps in our schedule...as huffing your high dollar paint often ensues...witness me

But, I am very glad that it seems to have worked out for you, RL.  :)

Also, irt finishing up your painting project,  pro-tip here:

When huffing your product, be sure to use a bag that is completely air tight...otherwise, you re just wasting money. :(

Also, I luvs me pineapple pizza...

...could have something to do with all the huffing though.

And for those of you mingling sweet and savory. With few exceptions you are doing the work of Satan. Want some raspberry jslam on that burger, how about some ice cream on your ribeye?

A nice wild cut of meat - deer, duck, for example, pair well with a spicy fruit sauce (blackberry jalapeno sauce).

But as a chef, you know that.  My comment is for others.

Raspberry islam sounds delicious.   Preachy, and maybe a little bit old, but delicious.

It's also the name of my Jordanian "Prince and the Revolution" cover band.

No...that is a bit too strong, imo.

However, "pervert" is an apt description for having someone putt their chocolate in your butt.

Ask @El Floppo about this recipe.

:lmao:

The smoke finally cleared after two weeks of nuclear winter, and the family of barn swallows who'd prevented our using our main deck have flown the coop (I miss them :(  ), and it's 70 degrees and freaking perfect out, so we're sitting on the two chairs that aren't covered in bird poop and listening to Dylan and the Beatles and Big Star and Velvet Underground and Will Oldham and Otis and all the other best stuff.

Sometimes things are pretty amazing.

ETA:  This Time Tomorrow might be a perfect song.  The Ballad of El Goodo definitely is.

Give me a riff more underappreciated than the one in Hey Bulldog.  Also the bass line.

ETA:  not tipsy (yet) but Krippling.  It's been a while.

MoCS, I know you're an O Brother Where Art Thou fan.  Would love to hear your connection to all that music (specifically and generally).

Underappreciated covers:

Love, "My Little Red Book"

Wilson Pickett, "Hey Jude"

Alex Chilton, "Motel Blues"

I need to find a music thread.  Or Tanner.
